This Might be a bitter Pill to few Kriya Fan's... Enter at ur own Risk !!
Long ago, So Long Ago , Nobody knows how llong ago...There lived a ruffian..A lovable, witty, smart ruffian .. who one day chances to see a conservative girl going about on a rickety Rikshaw and promptly falls in love with her , not knowing her nature,character etc..and the girl rebuffs him.. **Yawn** of course ..you all know History as well as Herstory too..so without going too blah blah and without grinding the same old same old...lets move on to what I really want to chew on ....THE DYNAMICS OF KRIYA !!
THE BEGINNING
The Initial Honey Moon phase was anything but that !! Full of unfulfilled desires, puzzlement, hurt yet all this swept by Love on one side while there was hate, cold dislike,contempt a desire to teach a lesson [ she was a masterni even then eh ] from another side ....we got a charged, intense scenes..where he is full of intelligence,subtle sense of Humor, frustrated passion and resigned wait while she is icy,cold and distant ...They kept us on tenterhooks by will they or won't they ..Made us root for Krishna yet feel sorry for Pratigya .They had a sizzle, able to light the fires in our belly without them actually doing anything on screen..A smoldering look from him, which bounces off her hard shell kept us going AHhhhhhh !!
The more he tried to make his marriage work, the more distant she became ...until one fine day Krishna returned the favour ...and then came the peace offering of Tea !! A Simmering Krishna politely accepted the proffered Tumbler and froze her out ..showing the Victorian Madame , That he can play the Icy Mister even better than her...Pratigya in an effort to break the ice asks the quantity of sweet in the Tea..Krishna remains noncommittal ..
The Actual Honeymoon when Krishna and Pratigya went for their so called shahadchand ...An excited Krishna who thinks that a much needed alone time with a special emphasis on Physical intimacy will break whatever is holding back Pratigya ..while Pratigya is like an unwilling lamb being led to the altar straining at the leashes and fighting every inch of the way ...
The denouement when a Suppressed Krishna can suppress himself no longer and explodes only for his love,conviction's to be made a mockery of..to having his love questioned and ridiculed , to have his love branded as lust .. attack his masculinity by questioning it's very existence ..While Pratigya on the other hand is frightened but fights back ferociously, yields her body but adamantly refuses to soften her heart , pours out all her anguish but never says the words desired...bares herself but cloaks herself by dignity ...This was a phase when The duo could scorch our heart with the sizzle they created ..This was a phase when two strong,opinionated , intelligent confident People clashed,crashed and burned together.....
THE MIDDLE
This was a phase when Pratigya comes to know that it was not Krishna who made her life hell prior to marriage..realizes that Krishna does love her sincerely, deeply and truthfully ..Pratigya understands that underneath that rough veneer , there ticks a pure heart ....Krishna even gos to the death's door to convince of his love...Pratigya begins to reciprocate after realizing that Krishna is not such a bad bloke after all ...It is precisely at this juncture Krishna does prove that he is a bad bloke after all..A resurrected Krishna touches the nadir and subjects Pratigya to various harassment's both verbal and emotional ...The undaunted and fully committed Pratigya does not back down ...she matches him all the way by willingly accepting all the challenges thrown at her ..Smiles blithely through all the humiliation's, insinuation's and captures our heart .. Pratigya decides to take their marriage to the next level..but Krishna is not in the mood to oblige her,blocks and rejects her every approach to rapprochement ...It leads to an explosive situation wherein Pratigya stages a walkout , only for Krishna to stop her in the nick of time..Both bare their heart out and resolve their issues amicably leading to a much hankered for Union !!
The Middle phase was one where Krishna blew hot and cold..he had trust issues, he was in W&W mode..unsure of Pratigya, hating her for using him nonetheless unable to stop himself from loving her ..He was quiet, brooding , reflective,distant, intelligent,pragmatic yet seething in anger at the betrayal nevertheless loyally defending her from the ruthless pack ...This was the phase when Pratigya began to thaw and turn into a soft,caring,loving Wife ...This was also a phase when Krishna began to change or when the character of Krishna began to weaken
THE UNION AND THE AFTERMATH
The slow process of change began to sweep through Krishna , gathering momentum as time elapsed ..Gone was the the witty, intelligent and reflective man ...In that place was a bumbling,unsure babbling Man...Gone was the easy swagger and the cocksure intelligence ...in place of intelligence was the OTT attitude ...In place of a thinking Man was a Man whose gears and Cog refused to whirr and mesh ...The Pragmatic, Strong individual began to melt right in front of our eyes and began to re-form as a staunch acolyte of Pratigya, A mindless Yes machine, An awestruck Moony guy with no independent will or wish of his own ...A Man who was known for his outspokenness was shown to have become a coward by lying so that his wife could be happy ...Krishna was being turned into a poster boy for Anti- Marriage Brigade ...
Pratigya's character too took a beating now and then when it was shown that her passionate defense for Justice,Truth was quite hollow when confronted with her vacillating's father's stand..She was shown to be remote and standoffish when she steadfastly refused to join the Thakur's family when they usually jammed together in the evening, she was shown as taking advantage of Krishna's love by her constant running to her Father's house , The gilt wore off from the crown when she pronounced an unpardonable crime of her sister as a mistake and tried to pin the crime game on Shakthi..but however her character made a swift recovery. cos we saw that Pratigya was blossoming, whatever she touched turned to gold, however unrealistic and difficult her task was she succeeded without putting any great effort , She rode on her Husband's shoulder but was credited solely with all success.She became a Miss Know it all ..which beggars disbelief for I am interested to know how did Pratigya know that that Dhaba at Civil lines would net in great business while it escapes the street savvy, practical, shrewd,logical Krishna's brain ...Pratigya was shown to be a nerd with no life after college hours ..How did she know that Gulab Jamoon's are the fast moving desserts..as far as this serial is concerned , one would say that Dahi Jalebi seems to be the popular dessert of the Allahabadi's ..So how then did a a protected , conservative Pratigya arrive at the Gulab Jamoon decision ...For a woman who processes everything slowly , this was a quick fire thinking ...and a thing which does not sit well..when one contrasts it with a Krishna who acc to Pratigya spends all his time visiting eateries, cafe, hotels and fails to come up with the single most common dessert..whereas Pratigya who rarely steps out knows all about hospitality industry ...The disbelief reaches it's pinnacle when one realizes that she is a chemistry major, has no friends in the hospitality sector, does not any previous experience in hotel management and still says assuredly that Gulab Jamoon is the in thing....I understand that Pratigya is the lead and the Purrfect lady ..but her glorification should not be at the cost of butchering Krishna ..for Krishna is being decimated in an episode basis.
THE CHEMISTRY
My main grievance..... The slowly declining or the vanishing magic of Kriya..I am well aware that many will disagree with me ..but to me the magic, the vibe, the unspoken , charged tension, the awareness of each others presence has almost disappeared..There is no romance in the romantic scenes anymore..there is no unique Krishna stamp in any of their together moments [ To those who are thinking of getting violent..I humbly suggest that you take a look at the havan scene,the mobile phone scene, the terrace scene, the channa scene,the hand caressing scene ] ..The romantic scene comes, and two good actors who have become comfortable with each other enact it flawlessly and smoothly ..the action leave no room for complaint ..but there is a void where there should be a charged passion , The actors are easily handling the physical proximity but it is the emotion's that is lacking depth !! Passion has been replaced by insouciance ,which would be understandable had they been married for a decade but is simply unacceptable for newly weds , one who have recently began their journey together ..Is the actor's off-screen camaraderie and friendship affecting the intensity of Kriya's relationship or have they grown weary/used of intense scene and go through the motion's mechanically/automatically .. whatever the reason's ... KRIYA are the casualty and we do not accept it !! So Please actors and CV's ...Giddy-up and deliver the Magical KRIYA who sent the mercury soaring with their one look , Act fast, Act Now before it is too late..Revive that Magic..and that Magic can be revived when Krishna is resurrected..So dear Lotus eating CV's..get off ur seats ..and resurrect Krishna, revive KRIYA !!!
