Pratigya Story - A big disappointment

Having now watched all the episodes thus far, I am deeply disappointed with the story. I believe It had the greatest potential for development when the program started, but was squandered away due to lack of imagination and creativity of the key players, namely, the story teller, the director and the production team.
The dysfunctional families in the program, the bad behaviours of the individuals and the relentless victimization of helpless women involved is nothing new in India. I believe basing this show all on negatives is not entertainment. It is merely providing cheap thrills to masses but boring for the discerning audiance after watching repeat of the same contrived situations from scene to scene .
I applaud the stars of the show for their characterization of the roles. I only wish that their energies and skills were directed to produce a memorable drama. My specific suggestions are:
1. Let your characters grow up to show how they have evolved given the circumstances surrounding them.
2. Let the guilty be caught and sent away as it happens in the real world, sooner or later.
3. Trash the idea of a young beautiful and educated girl opting to marry an illiterate idiot from the Sajjan Singh household who she already knew and ran away from. This notion was much too contrived and unreal regardless of the buildup. This turn in the story was the proverbial last straw. I lost all interest in the program after watching this episode.

It is like a very good cook spoiling his own dish towards the end by adding too much and too many spices in the name of taking it to the next level.

Most of us who loved the show earlier are trying to say the very same thing. A strengthening voice is very welcome!

When will an Indian sitcom show females stop crying, go get an education and suceed in life, inspite of the Sajjan SInghs and their plotting evil wives ! We thought that's where Pratigya was headed ! Now we will not wach this show, but try Maryada instead, which is showing slight promise in that direction !!!

Very well said. I loved this show because of wonderful concept and ofcourse for the chemistry of Kriya, Its worthless now . The sad fact is that they have started showing illegal and obnoxious stuff. Its sad.
