What a refreshing post Dyehard - after reading many of the posts which are so staunch in their belief of Krishna or of their dislike for Pratigya, its nice to read a post that at least attempts to say it like it is, rather than be drawn into partiality based on degress of "hotness"
Sure, like most, I agree Krishna's character is for the most part adorable and he endears himself to us with his inimitable charm - but he is also flawed ,just like a diamond, and needs a damn good polish to be truly worthy of the praise we lavish on him.
I also agree that Pratigya's character strives to do the morally correct but that she irks me no end in her pursuit of the idealistic at times to the complete detriment of the man she professes to love, her ignorance or at least lack of importance of the consequences of her actions are just as contemptuous at times as Krishna - so its level pegging for me. Pratigya is Krishna's strength and motivator, Krishna is Pratigya support and her protector.
But what is it that makes them so endearing to us as a couple - it is this - that they are essentially incomplete without the other. The circumstances that led them to be together will without a shadow of a doubt be there to torment them at some juncture or another, but they make you want to believe that love will prevail and somehow soften all the inevitable blows to their relationship, they are like a lamp that is struggling in a persistent breeze - you just want them, will them to be able to stay shining....
K needs P and P needs K - end of.
Lovely lovely post D!
