I would say it is the job of everyone to maintain a nice balance....if it is the son, too much pressure on one person.

The DIL needs to understand that her husband has a family and they too have a haq.

MIL/FIL need to understand the son is their but he has a wife now, she too has a haq on him.

Son needs to understand that mother is mother, wife is wife. Each have rights, he needs to make sure each also understands their position.
