Accepted social behavior and dispelling with archaic norms have to be instilled in children at a very young age before age 5-8. The seeds of acceptable behavior has to be planted early on. As long as children continue to watch their parents and older siblings put up with abuse of any form, verbal, physical, emotional and psychological with the inbred attitude of anything goes this trend will continue in silence with shame. Movies must stop glorifying this kind of abusive behavior as being funny and an acceptable part of life.

At the same time COMMON SENSE must prevail. Children must engage in thinking about what they see in their world and not blindly follow what they see their role models live with in silence. The above statistics are disturbing to read. But some of that is prevelant in advance nations, in small towns where education is close to non-existent. Change is scary and hard to effect, the status quo feels safer for them, they have seen their elders live through life that way.

Part of the problem is the culture that husband is Pati Parameswar and whatever he does goes. Now the trend is slowly moving towards women taking care of themselves and not dependent on the men for their survival. Women were dependent on men for everything from a roof over their heads, food on the table decades ago. Now girls are earning their keep so in some metropolises they are ready to kick the guy who gives them grief to the curbside.
