CHAPTER 6
'Shez soo cute.... I love her little nose getting pink whenever she frowns. But she frowns a lot... and I love irritating her. I cant believe myself... that am talking soo freely to girls....specially after whatever happnend eight years ago. I noe.. it was a silly incident... but I had completely lost all my trust on girls. But I dont know... she had such a magical effect on me...that for the first time ever since the last 8 years.. i felt the urge to trust girls... no really girls....urge to trust this girl only. I cant believe.. I even tried to flirt with the other girl too😛 . Its all because of her.... is she changing me... ??!! Ohh wait... its just been a day that I have met her... and how can she influence me soo much. Am I again making the mistake that I made eight years ago?? !! Nohh !! Past is gone forever. I need to move on. During the last eight years in USA, I met zillions of girls... and everytime I met them... the flashes of that incident came in my mind. For the first time in eght years... I didnt feel the neccessity to hold back myself. The way she was praying in her car... as if her prayer would get the traffic cleared...the way she smiled when the signal turned green... as if it was the strenght of her silly prayers...there is something really special in her....and all I could think at that moment was that I needed to spend the next moment with her. As always the most convinient excuse for any carwala is that his car has broken off in the middle of the street... I too applied that... and Bingo!!! she agreed to give me a lift. Though the next half of the journey was completely silent.... and I didnt even knew that I would be meeting her again, but I had no worries. I tried to follow my heart... nohh honesty I tried to follow Seredepity... that if we were destined to meet... we will meet again. I never knew that she was coming in my company for an interview. Even her silence had such a positive effect on me.... that I felt much better after the ride. Well... did I also have some effect on her? Infact even I caught her stealing glances at me.. but before she looked at me.. I made myself busy with my friendly gadgets. N thus.. she remained unknown to the kind of effect she had on me. Okay..am I loosing It..?? I mean.. I hve been writing the same line again and again. But even if I am... I dont mind..loosing myself to her.. her beauty..her innocence.. and her charm. Ohk.. I pen off now.. I hear some loud steps outside.. it must be Herss... My Miss Hotty 😛 "
Krishna quickly closed his diary and fixed his eyes at the laptop.. when she made her entry. Krishna looked up at her... she was fuming at something.. and he couldn't help but admire her little pink nose once again.
Pratigya had a bad day... first of all it was the confusing project files.. then the extended meeting .. den lunch wid jerk... and to end it all.. she had a small misutanding with one of the developing team members. She wanted him to explain her some codes... to which he had replied blantly.. that shez too new to get everything so quickly. She demanded him again and he said her.. dat it was a utter time waste. She couldn't take it any longer. Though they were senior to her in terms of experience.. but post wise.. shez senior. Such a behavious was simply unprofesional. She turned back to say Krishna about it.. when she found him staring at her,. with a smile on his face. She reacted instantly thinking that it was her at whom Krishna was laughing at.
Prat: SIRR..... WOULD U MIND TO BE SERIOUS FOR A MOMENT ?
Krishna broke off his trance hearing her rude voice. With an embarrased look.. he gave her a curt smile and asked her the reason to be so rude to him.
Prat: Sir... U may find me funny.. or whateva... But I am here to do my job and would expect equal professionalism from ur side too.
Pratigya was almost fuming. Krishna's immature tone and his irritating nature was making her day the worst one.
Krish: WHoa.. !! I am your bose here... and u r my secretary.. Incase u have forgotten..
Prat: I do remember Sir.. but U dont behave to b one.
Krishna could easily understand that she was upset and frustated for some reason. As much he has come to know of Pratigya in a day and half... he knew she was short tempered... but it didnt take time for her anger to melt away. She is not a person to speaks so rudely. So..instead of taking the fight further... he decided to calm her down.
Krish: Okhay..U want me to behave as a profesional boss... as in the ones.. who doesnt speak frankly with his secretary... shows them a lot of attitude... (making a serious face) and... gives them orders... right?>
Prat: ( a bit taken back at his reaction) No!! not exactly... but atleast...
Krish: Prats...i mean Pratigya... U should be happy... that u have me... ask Sonali... she will tell u her miseries..
Prat: Whuz Sonali?
Krish: Shakti bhai's Secretary 😆
Pratigya couldn't help but smile. He was correct in a way. Krishna was more of a friend than a boss. The little moment she had spoken to Shakti Singh... she felt nervous... as if her legs were trembling..when he was assigning her.. her exact duties. The way in which he even appreciates.. makes a man feel nervous. He was a the typical angry young BOSS.. Pratigya has seen in the films. For a certain moment... the idea of Krishna being her boss.. made her relieved, which was clearly understood as her lips curved a little more.
Krishna smiled too. The idea of mentioning Shakti bhai has done the magic. Quitely mumbling " Thank U Bhaiyya" he continued..
Krish: Theek hain.. agar tum chahti ho ki main bhi waise behave karoo.. then..
Prat: Noooo !!! (looking at Krishna's amused looks) I mean.... not that rude... But..
Krish: Ohk... I will try to .. get that exact attitude.
Krishna said his line exactly mimicking his bhaiyya's voice which made Pratigya laugh out loud.
Krishna observed her clean laugh lines... her sparkling eyes...her light tremors across her body when she laughs aloud. But soon composed himself before getting caught again,
Krish: Waise.. hua kya tha.. y were u soo mad?
Prat: Yeah... woh actually.. we need to have the meeting...the developers need to clear some points before we can frame the report as Shakti Sir has ordered.
Krish: Hmmnn.. okay.. I will inform the team to be at the meeting at 11:30 sharp. Okay with u?
Prat: Yeah.. fine.
It was done. Now that developer will understand that i am senior to him and that I have every right to ask clarrification from them, muttered Pratigya under her breath.
Prat: Well Sir... its almost 8... and I guess... my day is over. So.. may I leave?
Krish: Why so early ??
Prat: (her irritation building up once again) Early 😕 Sir... I have reported right at 10 am.. and in my contract.. am suppossed to work for 10 hours... so..its time for me
Krish: Yeah... but u have stared working 12 onwardss
Prat: Sir.. thats because u were late.
Krish: But... thats it... whateva it may b... u started wrking 2 hours later... and hence would leave
Krishna couldn't complete his sentence, if only looks could kill... he would have been killed by now.
Krish: (cntd) would leav.. right now.
Pratigya instantly smiled cutely. Saying a shy Thank You.. she left the room.
Krishna smiled at her ways. Ohh Godd.. shez soooooo cuteeee. Mana ki thpri si ziddi hain... ghamandi hain.. natchadi hain... lekin jo bhi hain..mujhe bahot pyaari hain. I Love her.....
Pratigya was about to start her car.... when he came and stood before her. With a 'Not Again' Look..she came out of her car and smiled at him.
Krish: Well..Pratigya.. I did a favor to u... now its ur turn.
Prat: 😕 Sir??
Krish: Uff... u make me feel old. We are no longer in the office. Call me Krishna... please.. ya as I said... Krish, with love 😛
Prat: 😊 Ohkk... Krish...............NA
Krish: Koi baat nahi... kuch din baad... yeh NA khud hi mita dogi 😉
Prat: Neway... wat favor..u were talking about ?
Krish: Ohh ya... actually.. my car...is not okay... and make break down any monet. Can u please... 😛😛 give me a lift ?
Pratigya took no moment to realize that it was just a mere excuse. As it is ... that if not his car... Krishna had the option of taking either.. his bhaiyya ya his dad's cars. But however... she made an innocent face.
Prat: Ohh How sad... !!
Krish: wat ?
Prat: about ur car... (making a puppy face in front)
Krish: Yaa.. I noe and upar se mere kambaqt driver...kitna time lagata hain... gadi theek kerane mein...
The poor driver who had just come seeing Krishna and stood behind him to ask him if he would leae right now... was totally confused as he heard his name along with a compliment. Wasting no minute to defend himself... he spoke out loud...
Dri: Per Sir... car mein to koi problm nahi hain. Hum kal hi servicing kerwake aaye... Its perfectly okay.
Krishna and Pratigya turned back.. hearing the voice. While Krishna was still confused wat to say next.. Pratigya burst out laughing. Krishna, who otherwise could have killed the driver for interfering... was completely lost in her. Her sparkling eyes... her glittering lips... her little pink nose... the way she laughs.. completely mesmerized him. He slowly closed his eyes... as if to hold that moment forever to himself.
Prat: ( still laughing) Krishna.. must say... U have unique flirting styles.... 🤣 (at driver) Inhe.. ghar pahocha dijiye ga....
Quickly getting inside the car... she drove past him. Krishna still stood there... eyes closed. Flashes of Pratigya smiling... laughing crowded in his mind. His lips curved as his silently took her name with all the love.
The next two days went really well. Krishna realized that she looked more pretty while smiling.. and so... with his desparate efforts he made things easier for her, giving her lesser reaons to get irritated. However his sudden change did surprise Pratigya.. but she ignored it as it was for her good though. She was already in love with her job. The meeting that day went absolutely fine... and she had all her doubts clarified. Pratigya has been working hard since the last two days to frame the report.. and Krishna did help her.. with frequent coffees...( black and sugar free) ... but thats it. But Pratigya didnt complain.. for she really feels uncomfortable with some one else interfering in her work.
It was finally the day.. when she was going to give her first presentation on the current status of the project. She had often given presentation in her college life... and doing things professionally certain had some different feelings.. specially when there wuld be personalities like Shakti Singh attending it. She was all tensed since the morning.. and even Krishna's one liners and jokes didnt help. The presentation was aboutto occur in an hour... ans she felt she was still fumbling at her words. She knew it wasn't easy... but she couldn't understand... why it was becoming soo difficult for her. With almost teary eyes... she went through her reports again and again. The only fear that haunted her was what if she fumbles in between her presentations... what if the board asks her questiosns..which she has missed out.
Krishna has been a bit restless since the entire time. His Pratigya was upset... and it was really too much for him to bear. He had full faith in her that she would really do a good job... but the fact thats she was tensed and nervous.. made him tensed too.
Krish: Pratigya...
Prat: Hmmn
Krish: Tum.. kahin darr to nahiii ???
Prat: (looking up at him) Woh... haan.. I mean.. 1st presentation...
Krish: Pratigya.. u r tensed.. !! Dont tell me !!! 😛 I mean.. its me who should be more tensed
Prat: huh.. how..why? ??
Krish: Look... u even have some things to say about the project... mujhe to basic statistics bhi nahi pata...😆 I mean.. waise se u r my secretary... But.. !!! Nd haan.. waise bhi..people are already praising u for ur dedications. I am sure.. u r going to do really well.
Prat: I hope... main...
Krish:Haan.. u will.. take it from me. 😊 Aur waise bhi.. its just an hour left for the presentation.. nd u r still going over it !! Shut this up.. and come with me for a coffee.
Krishna almost dragged Pratigya to the cafe.. who followed him reluctantly. However she indeed feel good the way Krishna tried to boost her confidence. Lost in his sweet words... he hardly noticed when Krishna had ordered cold cream coffee for both of them. But for a change she didn't react when the orders appeared before her..which made Krishna all the more worried.
Krish: Pratigya... u r okay??
Prat: Yeah.. !! just a bit tensed
Krish: I dont think.... u r fine... u didnt even... shout at me...
Prat: 😊 Godd.. Krishna.. (suddenly her face changed.. as she realized that she has called him by his name ) ☺️ .Sir... woh..agar aap yeh pee kar itna cool reh sakte hain... so I thought let me also give it a try 😳
Krish: 😛😛 Finally... u r out of ur black cofee obsession.... so this calls for treat !!
Before Pratigya could actually react... Krishna ordered for some more of his favorites.. telling her that these are d mysteries behind his cool nature. Pratigya couldn't help but smile at his childness... and before long... she was completely engrossed in Krishna and his favorites... appreciating and criticising sometimes... forgetting all her tensions for the presentation.
