What is the purpose of Punishment ,Pricey ...to reform a human and to prevent the same crime from occurring again .....so if Krishna were to change ..would not that be his repentence ...

Tell me if you were adamant on Punishment ...You sentence him for 6 months or a year and after a year ,he serves his sentence without undergoing any change in his thoughts and he comes back with renewed anger and continues beating his wife again ,then what is the Use of punishment ?

@red: perhaps i would've believed this strength would've worked had it worked last time (did that make sense? lol). and i get what you are saying, they were all feeling more intimated by krishna and his family, and they eventually let this intimidation get to them...but this is exactly why i feel the way i feel. you see, krishna ISN'T using that kind of intimidation this time around, so if he had, i do feel pratigya and her family would've eventually given in. cause really, if you think about it, were they not as strong the first time around, BEFORE the marriage...? i mean, what didn't they try to do in order to prevent kriya marriage, but all proved to fail cause of krishna's tactics. tactics, which he ISN'T using this time around, therefore, i feel why the saxenas are able to get what they want. but i agree, part of the reason why krishna isn't being able to use some of these tactics is cause he has no "daddy-dearest" to support him this time.

@blue: since you asked, IMO, there are many purposes of punishment. two of which, you already mentioned: to ensure the perpetrator never commits the same crime again, and to reform the perpetrator himself. yes, absolutely, i agree. but let me add this one as well: to also make the perpetrator realize, that there are certainly consequences for such actions. some times, our actions are minor, that ONLY forgiveness is the best answer (if we change), but sometimes, our actions are so SEVERE that they can be forgiven, but NOT without punishment (even if we do admit our guilt). and i'm afraid, krishna's actions have been so severe, that punishments are in order. and who said i want him to be just imprisoned for a year, and then go back to his old way again...? that is NOT what i want. i want him to serve his punishment, and then never do the crimes he committed that got him in prison to begin with. if he can be man enough to feel guilty, and admit he was wrong, then he should be man enough to accept the appropriate punishments for that guilt. i want this to happen not only because krishna DESERVES this 100%, for all the DESPICABLE things he's done, but ALSO so that this show could give a message to the REAL world that, again, "such heinous actions will NOT be tolerated, and those who committ them, will CERTAINLY be punished". or else, how can there even a be the least bit possibility that such cycle can end...?

yes, if krishna learns to respect women, not be so brash, and learn to respect everyone around him (from the small store owners to the tailor, to prati's own family), i too believe i would come to love this character. 😊

@ Red ;

What you said holds true for the likes of SSS ...they are the ppl who never give a thought about their woman ....Such ppl definitely need a long spell in the prison ...for them the fear of law can be the only deterrent from committing further atrocities on women .....But Krishna is beginning to walk [towards redemption] ...witness the fact that when Pratigya was refusing to come with him and arguing with him ..he did not lose his marbles and slap her .....I'm sure if he had intended to be violent , none of the saxna's could have stopped him ..but contrarily he just yells 'YOU WANT TO STAY ON HERE ,THEN STAY and walks back ...,for me that was his walk towards growing up !!
