Pratigya stepped back. "What did you say?" she demanded shakily.
"Deal?"
Pratigya was shaking, Krishna mistook this for fear and sought to reassure her "Don't worry, I won't do anything you don't want me to- I just met you and….something about you calls out to me, and I know you have to feel it too. We're meant for each other."
While she was thinking, she did not notice Krishna come nearer to her. So lost she was in her thoughts, she finally noticed when he raised a hand to touch her face.
With these thoughts in mind, she stepped backwards before his hand made contact and turned around to run. Before she could even take a step forward, she felt Krishna's arms encircle her waist and stop her in her tracks. Terrified, she started struggling- there was no way she would give into him willingly!
She smiled sarcastically, hiding her fear, although tears still glittered in her eyes "I'm only yours for the night- well wasn't that the deal?"
Pratigya was quite as she looked into Krishna's eyes, which glittered with intensity as he started at her. "The way it should be?" she finally said "Nobody asked me about what should be? I came here following my future father in law. How was I to know he was leading me to a wolf? He was to be my father- he should have been protecting me. But he turned out to be the person I should have run away from!"
"No!" she screamed and tried to run past him- her fear had overtaken her and she was not thinking clearly. He caught her and threw her on the bed, holding her down as she struggled.
"Stop struggling! I'm not going to hurt you!" He grunted, as she hit him with her tiny fists.
"What type of man forces a woman?" She yelled back, trying to get him off her.
He immediately got off here and backed up a few steps. "I'm not going to force you" he muttered. She immediately got off the bed. "What?" she almost screamed "Do you know what you were just doing? It's called forcing someone"
"I wanted you to be quite!" He yelled back.
"You were going to rape me!"
"I won't touch you!" He shouted, then stopped "Well, not until you want me to" he amended.
Krishna smirked "Be reasonable. Are you honestly going to marry Nitin, knowing what you know about Jagmohan? Nitin will never be able to protect you- he has as much backbone as a sponge. And his mother? Hah! She'll probably say that Jagmohan was right. When news of the engagement breaks, people are going to ask why- they'll find out you spent the night of your engagement with another guy. You think anyone will marry you after that?"
Krishna saw her despair and continued to press her buttons. "Even
"Shut up!" he closed his mouth in surprise as she rounded at him, anger in her eyes. He admired her form as she stalked closer to him, fear forgotten in her anger. "Stop talking!" she demanded as she stepped close to him. He took advantage and grabbed her the same way he had when they first met.
"I'm the only one who will marry you Pratigya. By marrying me your family will be elevated. My father is a big man- your family will have opportunities that they would not even have dreamed off…"
"I'm supposed to marry a man who wanted to barter me for one night?" she interrupted him, scoffing.
"I only told Jagmohan that- I knew I was going to marry you the minute I saw you. Also," he added, his eyes gleaming, "By marrying me you can have your revenge on Jagmohan- anything you want. Teach him a lesson"
She looked at him for a long moment, searching his soul it seemed. The she closed her eyes and thought for even longer. She knew her situation was hopeless. She had to salvage what she could.
"I'll marry you." She finally said. As he began to laugh triumphantly, she added "but you will not have me, Krishna."
"My goddess, my darling," he replied "I already have you."
She looked back at him, calm now, "We will see, who has who"
The dawn broke, and the conversation ended as they both left the room.
