Awesome topic.

I think the only qualm that I really have about this show is how they keep repeating how unpaar and gawaar SS and family are, and the thing is.....being literate does not determine character, but just a way of thought. It makes me sad how harsh they show the SS family to be, and how over dramatic the Saxena family is portrayed. Its as though being educated makes u a tightwad and being uneducated an animal...which is not true.

I want to say that civility and kindness and maturity is not connected to Education. Trust me I speak from experience I know a lot of people in my life who are as educated as they come top of the class and very successful but they don't have any maturity or civility in handling difficult situations but instead are cruel and break others hearts and they have no empathy. Sometimes the cruelest people in the world are the most educated because it is their inherent nature to hurt others, some do it willingly some don't even realize but education has no influence on them. Empathy is something that comes from within you nothing to do with education but more to do with your nature. Many are saying pratigya deserves this ignoring from Krishna, but what needs to be seen is does Pratigya have any empathy. OR more importantly does Krishna. As far as Arushi is concerned she is spoiled for her own reasons not to do with education. We can blame Krishna's wild actions on his upbringing but I think even if he was educated he would act this way because of his family. Arushi could be uneducated and still say what she said today.
Education is used as a proxy to define the two groups and used to explain away their behavior and actions.
But I think more the reason is their upbringing, family atmosphere, their real character.

I posted this already so just copy past.

Apart from just imparting knowlege , Education integrally contributes to a person's social mannerisms as well, which Krishna lags behind in. Every Society has its own norms & any behaviour that breaks the norms of the society is called anti-social behaviour. Schools & Institutions aim at enhancing the personality of an induvidual as well. That is probably why every charitable Organisation today emphasises on saying that education is a must for every child.
Be it from the rural or urban areas. As it not only imparts knowledge but also enhances people's behaviour towards family , elders & society.
If people are not educated , for instance , take the Takurs .They are not aware of what kind of behaviour is expected from them by the Society. They are not used to listening , taking advices as they've never been to school , so they tend to form their own theories for everything (Women are not fit for anything ,but the Kitchen or Money has more power) which maybe wrong & dis-like being corrected on that as well. So Yes , Education is neccessary as it contributes in developing the traits of an induvidual.
