awwh wow BRILL chp samira!! π€ π please tell me that wasnt the last chp! xxx
Words were left unspoken as the couple walked beside each other; a comforting sense of serenity remained in between them. But neither wished for this moment to be interrupted; a moment where so many feelings were being conveyed through the silence of their words. Aryan had taken the unconscious man to the station and had to remain in Shimla for a few days. Pratigya longed to re-attach there friendship; she couldn't bear to have a strain in their flawless relationship. Pratigya promised herself that she would attempt to reconcile their friendship as soon as Aryan returned.
Upon arriving back to their hometown, Pratigya had requested for them to take the train. Krishna had been taken aback but did not wish to deny her simple wish.
They now stood in the platform, patiently waiting for the arrival of the train. Pratigya smiled to herself as she gazed at Krishna's confused expression. The train station brought pleasant memories of their second encounter; although at that time it was far from being pleasant. But now she realized that if it weren't for those moments in time, she would have never met Krishna. Knowing that fact made her cherish every memory she had shared with him; whether it was good or bad.
The arrival of the train, snapped Pratigya out of her deep thoughts. Krishna climbed in first and turned around to face her; offering his hand. Pratigya placed her hands trustfully in his as he gently pulled her in. Their eyes met as they remained locked and transfixed in each others gaze. The movement of the train was unexpected, causing Pratigya to slightly lose her balance. She jerked towards him; her bandaged hands coming in contact with his hard chest. Krishna's hands snaked around her waist, holding her protectively. Pratigya looked down in embarrassment and tried to pull herself away from his embrace. In response, Krishna merely tightened his hold and pulled her more intimately in his arms.
'I've always told you' he whispered, 'every time you try to pull away, I won't let you go'.
'Maybe this time, I don't want you to ever let me go' replied Pratigya shyly.
Krishna raised his eyebrows in mock exaggeration, 'what's this madam, are you flirting with me?'
'Hmm maybe I am' replied Pratigya, smiling at him.
'I'm sorry but I am a married man' replied Krishna with a serious face, 'I cannot accept your flirty attempts'.
Pratigya gasped playfully and aimed a small punch on his shoulder. 'Who's the lucky girl?' she teased.
'At last you admit that my wife is indeed lucky to have a husband like me!' replied Krishna, with a smug and knowing smile.
Pratigya rolled her eyes at his shameless ego, 'Who wants a husband that is possessive, controlling and jealous about everything?'
'Be lucky that he shows any emotion, at least my wife will know that I care', retorted Krishna.
'Well you certainly show a different way of caring' replied Pratigya, 'you have even ordered how many children your wife is supposed to have without taking her wishes into consideration.'
Krishna chuckled in remembrance, 'ah yes our 7 children' he teased.
'You said 6 after!' proclaimed Pratigya.
'Well now your possessive, controlling and jealous husband has decided to have 7' replied Krishna.
'I want two!' Pratigya cried out.
'Seven' retorted Krishna.
'Two!'
'Seven!'
'Two!'
'Ten!'
'Tw-What!' shrieked Pratigya hysterically at the thought of bearing ten children.
Pratigya opened her mouth in outrage in preparation to give Krishna a piece of her mind. Before any words could be uttered, Krishna pulled his head down and kissed her.
He pulled back; laughing at her sudden dazed expression. Pratigya snapped out of her bewilderment, 'you can't just kiss me whenever you don't want to listen to what I have to say' she retorted.
Krishna smiled and pulled her tightly into his arms, bending down and catching her lips with his own. He kissed her thoroughly before letting her go. This time the kiss had drained all the arguments out of her body as she just stood there bedazzled out of her wits.

'Why are we going on that thing?' Krishna asked, annoyed.
'That thing is called a bus, just to inform you' replied Pratigya.
'Yeah why are we going on it?' He asked.
'To reach our destination of course' chided Pratigya.
Krishna glared at Pratigya, 'stop talking to me as if I were a dim wit'.
'Well then stop asking such questions that make you sound like one!' retorted Pratigya.
'Why can't we go in a car?' Krishna asked.
'Quick the bus is leaving' Pratigya said as she hurried towards the entrance. Pratigya hopped in and turned around to face him, offering her hands this time. Krishna stared at the bus in disgust and turned his face away.
The bus started to move, causing Krishna's head to jerk back in shock as he quickly stepped into the bus.
Krishna looked around the crowd filled bus and noticed a single spare seat which was not vacated. He quickly sat down and pulled Pratigya onto his lap. Pratigya gasped in horrification and desperately tried to get up. 'Krishna! This is a public place everyone is watching us' she hissed through her teeth. 'Who gives a damn, you're my wife' retorted Krishna, 'and where will you sit anyway?' Pratigya still tried to get up, 'I'll stand for gods' sake, let me go'. Krishna tightened his hold around her waist, 'either you sit quietly on my lap or I will sit on yours, either way where sharing this seat'. Pratigya gave up, sighing in embarrassment.
Krishna turned his head and noticed a man staring at them.
'What are you staring at old man?' snapped Krishna.
Pratigya elbowed Krishna, 'don't be so rude' she hissed.
'I'm so sorry u-uncle' stammered Pratigya, 'he didn't mean to be rude'.
'What the hell, I meant every damn word I just said!' replied Krishna.
Pratigya longed to bury herself down the ground.
The bus stopped as a new passenger stepped in. The old frail woman looked for spare seats, but alas there were none.
'Krishna we should give our seat to the poor auntie' said Pratigya.
'Don't fall for her sympathy act' replied Krishna, 'she's as strong as a bloody ox'.
'How would you know?' whispered Pratigya.
'Oh believe me I know' replied a very determined Krishna, as he recalled past memories.
Krishna, I dare you to grab that walking stick off from that old woman! Krishna looked at the frail looking woman in sympathy, 'I don't mess around with old weak people! Krishna stated, 'give me a proper dare that has some challenges'. Tunna and Chandu started to laugh, 'the Krishna in which everyone is scared of; is actually frightened of an old woman! Krishna looked at his friends in disgust, 'fine!' he retorted as he walked towards the lady. As he came closer, Krishna felt a sense of hesitation. The woman stared at him in hopelessness, her body slightly shaking due to her advanced age. Krishna felt a tug in his heart, he couldn't do this to her. He looked over his shoulder and noticed Tunna and Chandu laughing from a distance. He broadened his shoulders and murmured a prayer of forgiveness as he snatched the walking stick and ran off. He looked over his shoulder expecting to see the old woman collapsing onto the ground. However his eyes widened as he saw the old woman charging after him with superhuman speed! Tunna and Chandu in this moment was practically rolling on the floor with laughter as the old woman caught up to Krishna, slapping him on the back.
'Krishna' Pratigya muttered, 'stop day dreaming and get up!'
Krishna snapped out of his thoughts, 'nah that woman is dangerous'.
Pratigya unexpectedly got up before he could stop her, 'come auntie sit here'.
The old woman smiled nicely and walked towards Krishna, towering over him. 'Get up beta, or I will sit on your lap just like your pretty lady did' she whispered threateningly.
The thought of a bag of wrinkles sitting on his lap, almost made him want to vomit as he hastily got up and reluctantly offered his seat. With a scowl purposely directed at her, Krishna stood behind Pratigya in the middle of the bus.
Pratigya held on tightly as more people entered the bus, pushing and shoving there way through. A person shoved Pratigya's shoulder, causing Krishna to lose his temper. He grabbed the man by the collar and pushed him away. The man stumbled onto the floor. Pratigya remained mute, noticing how angry Krishna was and thought better of it to give him a lecture in such a state. Krishna placed his hands on her hip to steady her from falling. He also blocked her body with his so no one could hurt her as they tried to pass through.
Pratigya felt a bit overwhelmed by his protectiveness as she welcomed his touch, feeling more cherished then ever.
Hand in hand, both couples entered their house and were greeted by the servants. Sajjan singh looked up and frowned at both Pratigya and Krishna.
'Does this place look like a hotel to you?' Sajjan singh snapped, 'one day you come and the next you leave'.
Krishna ignored his father and commenced walking passed him.
'So now you have become your wife's pet' taunted his mother. 'Are you going to clean for your wife as well as hold her hands?' Krishna stopped at his mother's words and turned to face her. 'Now I understand why our relationship has always been like strangers. You don't know how to love, all you know is how to be cold and heartless'.
Krishna's mum smirked at his words, 'I always knew you would never be a man when you were young, that's why looking at you just disgusts me!'
'Don't talk to my husband like that' interrupted Pratigya, 'as his wife; I cannot tolerate any words being said against him.'
Krishna's mother looked furiously at Pratigya, 'who the hell do you think you are, interfering in between us mother and son!'
'What mother?' retorted Krishna, 'I've never seen you as a mother and perhaps never will.'
Sajjan singh limped towards Pratigya; outraged at her interruption. He raised his hands with the intention to slap her when suddenly Krishna grasped hold of his arm, preventing Sajjan singh from hitting her. 'Don't you dare even think about laying a single finger on my wife' threatened Krishna.
'You will fight against your father for a woman?' Sajjan singh asked, taken aback by Krishna's actions.
'She isn't just a woman' replied Krishna, 'she is my wife and if you can't respect her than I can't respect you!'
'She is a mere woman! Worthless just like the ground my shoes are treading on' snapped Sajjan Singh.
'Enough!' shouted Krishna, 'abusing her means offending me and if my wife cannot be given respect in her own home then I don't want to live in such a place!'
'So you will leave this house that you have lived in ever since you were born, just for your wife?' asked Krishna's mother.
'Yes' Krishna automatically replied without a slight notch of hesitation. That said he tightened his hold on Pratigya's hand and stormed out of the house.
'Bring the remainder of our luggage to my penthouse' Krishna ordered to a servant before he jumped into his jeep and drove off.

Pratigya tried to hold back her tears but damn her; the tears just simply slipped down her cheeks as she hastily tried to wipe it away. She couldn't show Krishna how much it hurt to be rejected by both her own family and now her in laws. She darted a glance at Krishna through the corner of her eyes and noticed his face was etched with untamed fury.
Krishna tried to control his anger but failed miserably. He knew from instinct that Pratigya was crying silently and was desperately trying to hide it from him. At a loss of comforting words, Krishna simply placed his hands on hers and squeezed it gently in reassurance.
'Where are we going?' Pratigya whispered softly.
'Home' replied Krishna.
'Where is home?' asked Pratigya.
'Wherever you are' replied Krishna.
Pratigya almost broke down from his soul touching words, 'Krishna, I don't think its right for us to leave.'
'Why don't you want to be with me?' Krishna asked.
'Of course I do' protested Pratigya.
'Then what does it matter?' Krishna asked, 'as long as you and I are together, nothing else is important.'
'But don't you wish to live with your family?' Pratigya asked, 'a house can only be a home when it's filled with the love and happiness of a family.'
'I don't have a family Pratigya' said Krishna, 'I've never experienced the love of a mother or father. You're my only family and a house can only be called a home when it is filled with your presence.'
Pratigya laid her head softly upon his shoulder, 'I love you' she confessed.
'Of course you do, I am after-all Krishna Singh!' Krishna teased, hoping to bring a smile on her face. Pratigya pinched his shoulder in annoyance, 'you're so full of yourself' she complained weakly.
'If you were me, wouldn't you also be proud?' joked Krishna.
'I would kill myself if I looked anything like you' replied Pratigya, slightly smiling at his jests.
'Are you smiling by any chance?' asked Krishna.
'No' lied Pratigya.
'You're hard to impress woman!' Krishna stated in exaggeration.
'Stop teasing me' murmured Pratigya.
Krishna squeezed her cheeks fondly, 'never' he solemnly promised.

Pratigya stared at her reflection for the umpteenth time, noticing the slight scars on her face. Although her bandages had been removed weeks ago; she didn't have the courage to face Krishna. Several weeks had gone by since they had initially moved into the penthouse. They lacked nothing; there were servants whom helped clean and cook and the house was no smaller than Krishna's mansion. The penthouse had been a birthday gift dedicated to Krishna and now within only a few days, it had become their most cherished home.
Krishna was hardly ever at home; spending most of his day busy with work. But the only thing that Pratigya found lacking in her life was her relationship with Krishna. Her self consciousness had created a barrier between them and only she had the power to overcome it. But how could she show him her scars! Although he knew about her past and seemed to have accepted it; how would he be able to digest having a disfigured wife?
'God give me the strength to face him' she earnestly prayed.
Pratigya stood up and looked at the silken bed; rose petals were scattered everywhere. She had also placed candles around the room, lighting it and giving the room a more romantic aura. Pratigya faced the mirror for the last time and looked at her red bangles. She tried to avoid looking at her transparent sari; as she longed to shield herself from his gaze.
With a sigh, Pratigya sat upon the bed and waited for him to arrive. The moment had come in which Pratigya and Krishna would finally become one. Pratigya felt her heart beat quicken; her hands shook slightly in nervousness. Butterflies were dancing in her stomach; she felt queasy with the nerves. Suddenly she heard the door open and looked up to see Krishna walking into the room.
