Hey Guys here is another part! I will number them soon on the first page. Thanks for reading!
It was late at night and Pratigya was trying to write down everything she remembered about her biology class thus far, she sighed in frustration, her exam was next week and here she was trying to reconstruct a year's worth of material. She had the sudden urge to pick up the phone and dial Priya's number, but she thought better of it. She had already dug a hole, and didn't want to dig deeper. Just then, Arushi walked in carrying coffee in her hand. Pratigya didn't seem to notice her and went on writing her notes. Arushi cleared her throat.

"Oh Arushi, whats up?" asked Pratigya finally noticing her.

"I just thought to bring you coffee...itni parai jo kara rahi ho."

"Thanks," Pratigya said as she took the coffee and tasted it. It was bitter and strong, but she figured she would need it, she would be up all night doing her biology notes.

"Pratigya, actually na mujhe tumse kuch bath karni thi.."

"Yea, whats up?"

"Woh, Pratz, today I asked you tumne kiske liya woh red dress pehni, was that for Roshan?" Arushi bit her bottom lip as she asked.

Pratigya looked up and smiled, she was really obvious and there was no reason why Arushi shouldn't believe she liked him. She sighed, "is it that obvious?"

"I mean...no...yea, yea actually it is," Arushi answered stumbling on her own words.

"Well?" asked Pratigya, feeling as if Arushi had something to say.

"I just mean, from what I know, he is just not the nicest guy on campus-"

"Please don't start Arushi, I have heard enough of this from Priya and now you."

"That is not what I am trying to say, I am just saying, can you really imagine some sort of long term commitment with him?" Arushi said with a hopeless expression washing over her face.

"Well-"

"Pratigya! Arushi!" yelled their mother as she came inside of their room.

"Ji," they both said in unison.

"Chalo, kaana thayar hai, bahad main par lena," said their mother. Pratigya smiled, more than she had meant to, happy that she had escaped the question.

*Krishna House*
"Krishna, aare O Krishna!" yelled Krishna's mother as she came up the stairs.

Krishna rolled his eyes as he let go out his experiment tubes. "Yes mom," he replied. She came into his room and sighed, "yeh kya hai?"

"Chemistry experiment, mom you know for my masters," he replied dully.

"I was talking about this," she said, spreading out her arms to indicate the state of his messy room. "Mera 25 saal ke larkha ko saafai nahin karni aathi...jab bahu aaya gi tho-"

"Tho kuch nahin. Because I am not getting married," Krishna said smiling, picking up his chemistry tubes again.

"Iska matlab kya hai...pehla bachelors, aab tume masters woh bi honours ka sath, saari zindagi parai hi kara ga?!" his mother asked, a mixture of fear and sadness washing over her face.

Krishna rolled his eyes, for what had felt like the millionth time today, put down his test tubes yet again (irritated to have to keep parting with them) and stood up and hugged his mother from behind. She shrugged her shoulders, so to get his arms off of her. "Main kya tumse ek miss world sa shaadi karna ke liye ka rahi hoon...just a simple girl."

Krishna sighed, "yes mom perfect or not, mujhe shaadi hi nahin karni hai...waisa bi shaadi pe mera vishwaas hi kahan raha." He let go of his mom and turned around to face his window. His mom turned around to face him, she came up to him and placed her hand on his shoulder. He sighed and shrugged off her hand, but he realized that would hurt her, he fixed up the sad expression that had washed over his face and turned to face his mother. "Jo bi larkhi tume teek laaga na ma-"

"Nahin, main bi kahan itna pressure tum pe daalna laagi, khud tho main-" she cut off as her eyes became teary and she attempted to quickly wipe them away. Krishna took her hands in his and wiped away his mother's tears.

"Your the best mom in the world, you have always been my role model and my life, honestly I don't need anyone else but you."

There was a silence and then his mom forced herself to smile, she brought his forehead down to her level and kissed it. "Khush raho,"she said and then patted him on the shoulder and left the room, clearly trying to mask her sadness.

Krisha knew his mother would go and cry herself to sleep once again, fifteen years later and still she couldn't live with the memory.

"Math Jao Papa...Ma!...Papa kahan ja raha hain...math jao papa!"..."Krishna choro mera hath."

He would never forget his father's betrayal, him walking out on his family. Krishna thought about his mother's hope, she still had it and yet he didn't. But her thinking was foolish, nothing in life lasts forever...not people, not love and not marriage.

*Pratigya House- Morning*
Pratigya awoke, yawning and stretching her arms. She felt a pain rise up her back, her body was stiff. She looked around and realized she had fallen asleep on her desk, she looked at the time- 7:45! She realized Aadarsh would leave at 8am sharply as he does every morning.
Why had no one woken her up?! She ran downstairs in panic, and almost slipped as she slid into the living room. She was suprised to see everyone casually sitting, her dad was watching the morning news, her mother was at the table knitting, Arushi was eating breakfast and Aadarsh was on the phone. Kya hogaya hai sab ko? she thought.

"Hello, is no one going to work today?" she asked confused.

"Well we don't know about you, but most of us don't go to work on the weekends," Aadarsh said cutting the phone.

Pratigya felt like hitting herself in the head, she had totally forgotten that it was Saturday, she smiled, relieved. She was about to go back to her room and start on her biology notes again when she realized she had to go to school today!

"Actually mujhe school jaana hai...Aadarsh bhaiya, if you don't mind dropping me off."

"Kya?! Pratz I am all in favour of studies but don't you think this is a bit much?" Aadarsh replied laughing.

"No you don't understand, I owe someone something-"

"Huh?" was all that came out of Aadarsh's mouth.

"No, I mean, I have to help someone out on this project, I really do," Pratigya said giving him a pleading look.

"Teek hai...aara wait...papa, mom, permission hai?"

"Papa se pooch lo," said Nainaji.

Shyamji put down his down the remote and looked at Pratigya, "jao, I trust you will do your work," he said smiling.

"Thanks papa," Pratigya said as she ran to her room to quickly get ready.

*Chemistry Lab*
Pratigya came running into the chemistry, out of breath and clearly exasperated.

"Late," was all that Krishna said, as he mixed together some chemicals.

Pratigya sighed, "sorry I tried to make it as early as possible, woh bus-"

"Maina explanation nahin manga," he said as he noted something down in his notebook.

"Yea, par if I remember right, tumne mujhe time nahin kaha tha," said Pratigya, a bit offended.

He ignored her comment and continued to mix his chemicals, noting something down every so often.

"Wow, mujhe nahin pata tha ke school is open on the weekends," she said looking around the chemistry lab.

"It isn't," he replied, still involved in his experiment. "It is actually just the chem lab and that too for masters students."

"Oh," Pratigya replied. She watched him for a second, as he carefully observed the substances before him. He then began to write again in his notebook, his jaw clenching in frustration as he wrote, scratched out his answer and began again. She had never noticed that day, but his jaw line was so...so well structured. He abruptly turned around and faced her, conscious of the fact she was looking at him.

"Kya hai?" he asked.

"Woh, nothing, I just...what can I help you with?"

He looked around, clearly thinking of something easy for her to do. "Just wash those test tubes over there for my second round of testing," he finally replied. How can she screw this up? he thought.

Pratigya sighed (obviously she had caught on that he didnt trust her with much else.) She began to pick up the test tubes and carry them over to the sink beside his table and took them out of their rack one by one. She attempted to turn on the tap, but realized it was a bit jammed, she tried with all her might, and then looked at Krishna. He was too immersed in his project to notice what was going on. Why does he bother to wear such big glasses if he isn't going to bother looking around? she thought, she just sighed and attempted to turn on the tap again. Again she had no such luck, and the giving up she cleared her throat to get Krishna's attention. He didn't seem to notice, so she cleared her throat again. This time he looked up, and just stared at her, she smiled about to tell him about the tap, but suddenly he went back to his experiment. She rolled her eyes and then attempted for the last time. She jerked the tap with all her might and the water exploded out of the faucet, splashing everywhere. Pratigya screamed as the water wetted her and her clothes. She moved back. An annoyed Krishna looked up, smacking his head and running to turn off the faucet, before the water came near his experiment. He went over to the sink, the water wetting him as well and he turned off the faucet.

He faced Pratigya, his hair was wet and no longer in its perfectly gelled-to-his head manner. He removed his wet glasses and stared at Pratigya. Just then Pratigya realized how dashingly handsome he was, not only was his face so well sculpted, but his eyes, they were deep set and communicative. Just then she realized the only thing they were communicating was anger.

"Sorry..." she whispered as she looked at the ground.

"Its my fault...I don't know who I thought I was giving you such a hard task," he retorted.

"Hey! Don't be sarcastic, its not my fault, the tap was jammed!" Pratigya said, clearly defensive.

"Whatever, I know such girls, not a care in the world about-"

"About what? You don't know me," Pratigya said her anger rising.

"I know the undergrad girls at this college. Unke bus do kam hai...one to die over boys and secondly to barely pass their studies," he said with a disgusted smirk on his face.

"Everyone is not the same, and I thought I would let you know, I am a top achiever in the psychology faculty," she said, smiling, clearly pleased at her rebuttle.

"I can see that," he said, looking back at the sink with water dripping off the counter.

Pratigya suddenly felt embarassed, and she couldn't stand there anymore. She walked off and picked up her bag, with Krishna just staring at her.

"Krishna agar kisi ko anjaana main gaalti hui tho, use maaf kar dhena chahiya," his mothers worked suddenly ringed in his ear.

"Dekho," he finally said sighing, "I am sorry...tum itna zaada offence math lo."

Pratigya suddenly put down her bag and looked at him. "Its just yeh...I am tensed with this whole project," he explained.

Suddenlt Pratigya burst out in laughter, laughing loudly, her laugh echoing the room. Krishna was at first confused, he looked at her face, now laughing freely. He suddenly realized that she was...she was...he snapped out of it before he could complete his thought. "Why are you laughing?" he asked, a bit embarassed.

She stopped laughing and smiled, "you thought I was leaving? I was just taking some tissues out of my bag," she said and she pulled the tissues out of her bag. "For your glasses..."

"Oh," Krishna said suddenly feeling like an idiot. "Theres no need, I will wipe them on my shirt."

"You mean the one that is all wet?"

Pratigya broke out laughing again, and Krishna couldn't help it and his face broke out into a smile.

"Pratigya tum yahaan?" a familiar voice greeted Pratigya's ears as she turned around to see Priya standing at the door.

"Priya? Tum yahaan? Main tho woh-"

"Haan, I came to study for biology, my friend Krishna said he would help me out...since he took this class in his undergraduate."

"Oh, well I was actually helping Krishna with his chemistry experiment."

Suddenly it was Priya's turn to laugh, her laugh ringing shrilly in the room. "Tum aur chemistry?!" she laughed once again. Krishna smiled as well at Priya's comment.

Pratigya suddenly felt defensive, like her ability to do anything was being challenged. "So I can do chemistry-" she said turning around but she realized that Priya wasn't listening, but in conversation with Krishna. She cleared her throat, and they both looked up. Why didn't Priya ever mention Krishna before? "Woh, if you are helping her main kya karoon?" she asked.

"Oh well Pratz, you will need help for this exam as well, come join us," Priya said clearly in a better mood.

*Later on...*
A tired Priya had fallen asleep on the chemistry lab table as Krishna finished up explaining another chapter to them. Pratigya glanced at her watch, realizing the time, nearly 5pm! "Look Krishna, thank you so much for everything, but I really have to go home as I have been here for hours...I hope you don't mind" she said biting her bottom lip.

"No of course not," he said yawning. She was clearly impressed by how smart he was and that too something not of his own subject matter.

"Thank you," she said smiling as she touched his shoulder, as a gesture of her thanks. He suddenly looked at her intensely, but it was a glare that was conveying more than she knew. More along the lines of 'what are you doing?!' She suddenly took her hand away, but didn't break with his gaze. He realized in that moment he hadn't seen her face so up close, her eyes were beautiful and large, her cheekbones were high, her lips were...he suddenly broke with her stare.

"If you need anymore help, mujhe...just tell me," she finally said.

Suddenly Priya woke up yawning. "Sorry yaar, I fell asleep, Pratz I was awake all night. Can you please just tell me the rest of the chapter?" Priya said as she got up to leave. Both the girls grabbed their stuff and began to leave. "Bye Krishna thanks for your help," said Priya as she walked out of the door.

"Bye Krishna," said Pratz at the door. He looked up at her and then met eyes once again, but this time more like they had some sort of wonderment about each other. She smiled and left the room.
