chapter 14 I
sat at Rajev Uncles bed and prayed, but nothing happened for hours.
"How is he?" asked Dr. Khanna as he entered the room in the early morning.
"You are still here? Do you ever sleep?" I asked suprised, but he only shrugged his shoulders.
"Well, you also dont sleep, so why should I?" he winked at me and I had to smile.
"Rajev Uncle is still in the same condition, I really hope hell recover. Its very hard to come back from where he is." I answered his former question.
"What do you mean, Miss Pratigya?" he asked irritated. I looked at Rajev Uncles hand and put mine on it.
"You have to know, a few months ago, I was also in coma. The doc just told me some time ago, that I have fully recovered."
"And...how..." began Dr. Khanna carefully.
"A dear friend helped me in this time, he never left me and he talked to me all the time. I could hear him from where I was and his love and support helped me to find my way back." I smiled bitter at the thought of Krishna.
Dr. Khanna shot me a look that I couldnt point.
"You are really an amazing woman Miss Pratigya." I was suprised, not so much by the words, but by the way he looked at me.
Right then I felt that Rajev Uncles hand moved.
"Rajev Uncle? Rajev Uncle??? Can you hear me? Its me, Miss Pratigya!" I called over and over again.
"Mr. Rajeev. Can you hear me?" Asked Dr. Khanna now.
Rajev Uncles eyes flew open and looked at me. I was so happy that I couldnt hold back the tears.
"Hey, Miss Pratigya... why are you crying. You look like somebody has died." he said weak. I had to giggle and kissed his hand.
"Thank god, you are awake." I whispered.
Dr. Khanna checked on him.
"And?" I asked as soon as he had finished.
"He seemes to be ok. Sure, he still needs rest, but he got it." I sighed deep and leaned my head against Rajev Uncles hand, which I was still holding.
"We should let him rest now, Miss Pratigya. You can come back later." I looked at Rajev Uncle and stroke his cheek.
Sleep a bit, Rajev Uncle. You need to rest, Ill be back later." I said with a soft voice.
"Ok, Miss Pratigyaa. You should also rest a bit, you look tired." I got up and left with Dr. Khanna the room.
"I really dont know how to thank you, Dr. Khanna." I said honest and smiled at him.
"Oh, dont thank me, it was you who showed him the way back." I blushed a bit.
"But if you want to thank me... please let me invite you to a cup of coffe sometime." I looked suprised at him.
"Umm... I dont know... if..." I stuttered, but he only smiled at me.
"Miss Pratigya, I said sometime. We can go when you are ready. And now excuse me please, I have to look for my patients." he said and left me standing there. I looked confused after him, shook my head and left.
A few hours later I came back to the hospital and met up with Poo and Rishi. "Finally, where have you been?" called Poo.
"Me? Where have you been? Ive been trying to reach you all the time." I answered mad.
Poo and Rishi looked guilty at me.
"Lets go inside, Rajev Uncle must be waiting for us."
Rajev Uncle looked much better, he wasnt as pale as before and he was awake.
"Hey Rajev Uncle. How are you?" I greeted and hugged him.
"I missed you." he anwered grinning.
A few weeks later, Rajev Uncle had recovered and everything went on like before. Rishi had tried to convince Krishna to come back, but he refused. He said that Rajev Uncle was in the best hands and that he didnt need him. It hurt very much that Krishna didnt want to come back, not only because for me, also for Rajev Uncle and Rishi, who missed him really much.
One day I was sitting in the office and doing my work, when one of the waitresses knocked at the door.
"Pratigya, there is a gentleman who wants to talk to you." she said.
"Ok, Ill be right there." I answered and walked outside into the restaurant.
The man stood with the back to me.
"What can I do for you?" I asked friendly and jumped, when he turned around.
"You???" I asked shocked.
The man grinned at me and nodded.
"Sure me, you still owe me a cup of coffee."
And what do you say?" he asked with a shy smile. I looked unsure at Rajev Uncle, but he only shrugged his shoulders and walked grinning away.
„Well, Dr. Khanna... I dont know if..." I began, but he cut me off.
„I know, its suprising but you should at least think about it." I shighed.
„Its only a coffee, Ms. Pratigya he said and smiled so cute that I couldnt say no.
„Well, if its only a coffee..." His smile wided and he beamed at me.
„Thats wonderful! Uhm... now? Do you have time now?" I was suprised about his sudden hurry.
„Uhm... well..."
„She can go, Dr. She has the rest of the day off." said Rajev Uncle winking at me.
I was shocked.
„Would you please excuse us for a moment?" I asked smiling, Dr. Khanna nodded.
„Of course. Ill wait outside."
I grabbed Rajev Uncles arm and pulled him into my office.
„What the hell is going on with you?" I asked angry.
„What are you talking about?" he asked, trying to look innocent.
„You know exactly what I mean. Why are you doing this?" I glared at him, but he put my face in his hands and kissed my forehead.
„My sweet little Miss Pratigya... You are such a good girl." Now I was totally confused.
„How long ago did Krishna leave?" I jumped at his question.
„6 months ago and you never heard from him again. He didnt even come home for me. I think its time for you to move on, Miss Pratigya. I love Krishna like my own son, but I have to say that hes an idiot. Only he knows why he behaves like that, but you shouldnt wait any longer. You are young and strong. Live Miss Pratigya. Life is too short to let it just pass by." I felt the tears welling up in my eyes.
„Rajev Uncle, why are you so good to me?" I whispered.
„Because I love you like a daughter. So please, go out and have fun. Dr. Khanna is a nice guy and he really tries hard to impress you." I giggled.
„I know. So I should give him a chance?" I asked unsure, Rajev Uncle nodded.
„Its only a coffee..." I nodded and left the room.
„Thank you Rajev Uncle." He winked at me.
I got ready and walked outside to where Dr. Khanna waited for me. I could see that he was really nervous.
„Ok, we can go." I said smiling. He shot me a suprised look, but then he beamed at me and led me to his car.
„But I thought we go for a cup of coffee." I hesitated.
„Yes, we are. But Ill show you where you can get the best coffee. Its no problem, is it? I mean, Mr. rajeev said the you have the rest of the day off..." I had to giggle.
„Yes, you are right." So I got into the car and we drove off.
„So, where are we going?" I asked courious.
„Just wait and see." We drove to a lovely hous outside the city with a beautiful garden.
„Voil, here we are. The best caf in the world." he said proud.
„Wow, its beautiful here." I said honest.
„I knew you would like it." he shot me a look I couldnt point.
We walked the few steps to the door and walked inside. It was just as beautiful as from the outside.
„And, what do you think?" he asked a bit nervous.
„Its amazing. Ive never seen such a lovely place. Where do you know it from?" I asked now back.
„Well... I..." he began, but right then we were interrupted.
„I cant believe it, its really you. How are you? Where have you been so long and who is this lovely beautiful young lady?" asked a middle aged man with sparkling eyes and a warm smile.
„Its good to see you, too." They hugged.
„May I introduce? This is Miss Pratigya." He introduced me.
„Namaste." I said and smiled shy at him.
„Hey, Lajjo! Its Akash and he has a beautiful young lady with him." called the man.
„You are kidding." came a womans voice from one of the rooms.
A lady walked with a wide grin towards us and hugged Dr. Khanna tight.
„You are here. Its good to see you."
„Its good to see you, Lajjo." he answered with a soft voice.
„Oh, please excuse me, but I dont see my brother too often." I jumped. Brother?! But then I smiled and shook my head.
„Please dont worry."
„Welcome, Miss..." she began and looked unsure at her brother.
„Oh my name is Pratigya." I answered fast.
„What a beautiful name. Nice to meet you."
„Thank you, Mrs...." I felt a bit uncomfortable and unsure.
„Oh, please call me Lajjo. May I say Pratigya?" she asked with a warm smile. I nodded fast.
„And Im Abhay. But come in, come in. Do you want a cup of coffee?" asked her husband now.
„Oh yes. I promised Ms. pratigya the best coffee in the world." We settled down in the living room with a beautiful view into the garden.
„You have a very beautiful home, Lajjo." I said honest and watched out of the window.
„Thank you, Pratigya But how did you bring my brother to come here?" she asked now, I blushed.
„Uhm... I did nothing. He just brought me here." I answered fast.
„I owed Ms. Pratigyaa cup of coffee and so I thought she should get the best coffee in the world." added Dr. Khanna grinning.
„And here is the coffee." Said Abhay and put a tablett on the table.
„Thank you, Abhay." I said smiling as he handed me the cup.
„I have to say that you brought a real beauty, Akash. Well done." I blushed.
„Abhay, stop it. You make Pratigya blush." said Lajjo harsh.
„Please excuse me. Abhay is sometimes just..." She made I face.
„Its ok. I just..." I tried to explain, but she shook her head.
„Dont worry... So, what do you do?" she asked now to change the topic.
„I manage a little restaurant in town." I explained, thankful for the topic.
„Oh, really. Thats great. And which restaurant..." So we spent the afternoon talking and laughing.
„Ok, now I get it. You visited your uncle and Akash was his doctor." concluded Abhay after we had told them how we had met.
„Exactly, Abhay. Miss Pratigya saved her uncles life. I dont how she did it, but she made him wake up from the coma." Lajjo and Abhay looked suprised at me.
„So, you are a wonder-healer." I shook my head.
„No, absolutely not. But..." I sighed.
„I know how hard it is to get back from where Rajev Uncle was." I looked sad out of the window.
The other three looked sympathic at me.
„You were ill?" Asked Dr. Khanna careful. I nodded.
„Yes, I was in coma too. I just fully recovered 6 months ago. Back then there was somebody who called me back and safed me. And I called Rajev Uncle back." I explained.
„Wow, you are really a special human, Pratigya said Lajjo honest.
„Oh no, Im not special at all. I just dont want to loose one of the people I love... like all of us." I smiled brave. They nodded smiling.
