"Oh my god, I really cant believe that my Poo is getting married today. And look how beautiful she is." I said very proud.
"Yes, she is really beautiful. I really cant wait till you get married." I heard Rajev Uncle answer.
"Dont be stupid, Rajev Uncle. I wont get married. I have my job and I have you. What else can I ask for?" He put his arm around me.
"We will see... But are you really ok, Miss pratigya? You are really pale." he asked concerned.
"Im really ok, Rajev Uncle. Its just been a bit stressy in the last time, thats all." I calmed him down, but I knew that something was wrong and I was a bit concerned about it. The pain in the chest was still there, only not so bad and I changed between sweating and freezing every 3 minutes. But it didnt really matter to me today. I wanted Poo to be happy and to enjoy her wedding.
The ceremony was really wonderful and I just couldnt help but cry all the time.
"Aww, Didi. Dont cry, please." said Poo hugging me after the ceremony.
"Im sorry, but I just cant help it. My little Poo is married now." I replied, the tears streaming down my face.
"It seems to be in the family that you are always crying, right?" joked Rishi, who watched us. I held up my hand, threating him smiling.
"Im so happy for you and I wish you all the luck in the world. And if you dont..." I began, but Rishi cut me off.
"If I dont do everything for her you will haunt me, find me and kill me personally, right?" I looked a bit stupid at him.
"Well, I wouldnt have said it that dramatically... but all in all...yes." we burst into laughter.
"Oh, Didi. You and krishna have to dance." said Poo suddenly and pushed krishna and me on the dancefloor.
"But, Poo." I tried to protest but there was no chance in doing that.
krishna looked unsure at me and offered his arms to me. I sighed and put my arms on his. A slow song began to play and we began to sway to the music.
"Im sorry that you have to dance with me." said krishna honest. I looked suprised at him and slowly shook my head.
"Its ok. You are a good dancer." We felt really strange and I bet everybody could see it.
"Umm.. bye the way. I want to thank you for playing along and helping me to make this day perfect for Poo and Rishi." he watched me and nodded.
"I just want both of them to be happy. They have nothing to do with all this and they deserve to be lucky." I looked suspicious at him, but he was absolutely honest.
"I have to thank you for letting Poo marry Rishi. I mean you could have said Nobecause of me." Now I jumped. Again he looked with those sorrowfull eyes at me.
"How could I ever do that. Like you said... they have nothing to do with all this, right?" he nodded.
"Excuse me, but now I want to dance with her." said Rishi, tapping krishnas shoulder.
"Well, but only because you are the groom... then Ill go and dance with your beautiful bride." he answered winking and walked over to Poo.
"How do you feel?" I asked Rishi when we began to sway to the music again. "Im the happiest man in the world." he beamed at me.
"Thats great. Im so happy for you." I looked serious at him.
"pratigya... What is with krishna and you?" I jumped.
"There is something different. Also krishna and me wrote emails over this 2 years and he told me so much about you, how you became friends and how proud he is to know you. But now... it seems like you are strangers..." I looked over to krishna who danced with Poo. He smiled warm at her and joked a bit around.
"You are right, Rishi. There is something different. But dont worry, ok?" he nodded.
"But pratigya...I dont know what it is that made your friendship change, all I know is that I love my brother, he is everything I have. He already suffered so much and he deserves to be happy after all this years. You helped him to enjoy his life again, please dont destroy that." I looked with big eyes at Rishi and saw that he was absolutely serious. I nodded.
After everybody had left, I began to tidy up the restaurant. Poo and Rishi had left for their honeymoon and I was happy that the day was over.
"Miss pratigya... Stop that. We can tidy up tomorrow." called Rajev Uncle, seeing me working.
"Its no problem, Rajev Uncle. I just need to calm down and I cant sleep anyways." I answered smiling. He looked astonished at me, then he also began to tidy up.
"No, Rajev Uncle. Go home and rest. Its been a long and tiring day." I wanted to stop him, but he only smiled.
"Its also been a tiring day for you..." We worked a while in silence.
"May I ask you something?" I broke the silence, he nodded.
"Why do you still call me Miss pratigya?" he giggled.
"You will always be Miss pratigyafor me." he explained smiling
"You have always been..." he added in thoughts.
"What do you mean?" I asked courious. He looked at me with a look I couldnt point, then he sighed, took a seat and patted the seat next to him.
"I have to tell you something. But please promise me to listen to me, ok?" I took a seat next to him and nodded.
"You have to know. I began to call you "Miss pratigya" a long time ago." I jumped.
"What are you talking about? We just met when krishna and me came here for dinner." he held up his hand to stop me.
"Ok... You remember the scene with Rishi and that I helped you?" I nodded.
"You said that you owe me something. Now I ask you to just listen to me, ok?" I nodded again, but I felt like I should run away.
"Ok... You have to me, all this years... I mean since the accident..." He seemed to look for the right words which made me feel really uncomfortable.
"When we found out that your parents had children we did all to find you... and we did." I jumped.
"We found out where you lived and who you are... Poo and you. And Krishna began to take care of you. He helped you to get the job at Mr. Balanks office, he talked to the owner of your flat and payed a part of your rent, so you could afford it. He followed you in the evenings to make sure you come home safe and he also looked for Poo. He talked to her teacher to give her the scholarship... not that she didnt deserve it, but there was also another girl on the list." I looked shocked at Rajev Uncle.
"What are you talking about? Do you mean that he cared for us all this years?" Rajev Uncle nodded.
"Yes, he did. He felt so bad for what he did, so he decided to help you the best he could.
But he had to show up that evening in the park when this guy..." I shook my head violently.
"You are lying. He cant have done that!" I called out. Rajev Uncle put his hand on my arm to comfort me.
"Im not lying, Miss Pratigya. Its the truth. He had to help you this evening and he couldnt help but fall in love with you. From that moment on, he really changed. He began to live again, to enjoy life again. He loved it when you did something together, when you went out for dinner, or when you went shopping together... The day of the picnic, I knew that he wanted to tell you the truth, but I also knew that you were about to discover your feelings for him. But I couldnt help you... Krishna would have never been able to go on with that lie..." My mind was racing.
"No, no, no... that cant be." I whispered, the tears streaming down my face.
"Miss Pratigya... its the truth. Krishna suffered enough, dont you think so?" He smiled at me, but I got up.
"But he killed my parents!" I called mad, not knowing what do think.
"Not really..." I looked at him like he was crazy.
"What do you mean?!"
"It wasnt his fault. You have to know... Krishnas and Rishis father was a bad man. He never loved his wife or his wife. That evening Krishnas mother called him and begged him to help her. He had hit his wife again and now she was really afraid. Krishna immediately drove to her and got her out of the house. Right when he was about to drive away, his father followed him and beat him up. Then he got in the car, where his wife already sat and drove away. Krishna rushed to the other car and followed them. They were making a race. And then happened this accident with your parents. Krishnas father drove too fast and lost controll of the car. He hit your parents car frontally. Krishna was right behind them, but he could stop in time. He tried to safe the four, but he was too late." Rajev Uncle wiped his tears away and looked begging at me.
"Miss Pratigya. It wasnt his fault, really. But he thinks that because he was part of that race." I looked shocked at him.
"But... No... I..." I sighed and tried my body to stop from shaking like a leaf. I looked over to the door and was Krishna standing there.
That was too much for me. I felt that sharp pain in my chest again and fell to the ground.
"Pratigya? Pratigya!" I heard Krishna call, then all went black.
