Servants were brushing Helena's hair and put attar of roses on her. She said, Princess this special attar is made by special makers just for you. You are famous as a fragrant rose of desert. Your future husband will be so lucky to have such a beautiful fragrant rose wife. Helena smiled and gave her some coins. She said, I know I am the best. My future Emperor will be all mine. Servant smiled, your husband will be Emperor of your heart. Helena replied, and I will be his Empress. Servant said, but what if he marries other queens.....Helena got up and slapped her...... servant got scared, my Emperor will be mine, only mine.............there was rage in her eyes and then she looked in the mirror. I am daughter of a warrior, I have learnt to win and my Emperor will always love me and only me......and she smirked..... servant was scared to see her possessive behaviour, she thought, she doesn't understand..........hope she will become wiser with age.......

The courtesan danced in front of everyone and after it was over Chandra gifted her jewels. She said, I will be honoured to serve the king tonight. Nandini got shocked, she said, please Chandra say no, if not for me atleast remember Swarna, I know how much you miss her, it's in your eyes, Before Chandra could say anything Acharya entered the court, the king got up and so did everyone and they bowed. Acharya said, the lady will be serving Laghu Paurav tonight. Everyone shocked while Chandra and Nandini were relieved. Laghu Paurav said, but Acharya she is a gift for Chandra. He said, you are the eldest of our allies, Maharaj is still like a son in front of you. Please accept this honour. Laghu Paurav thought they were honouring him. Everyone praised Acharya for honouring the allies........Chandra thought, thank you Acharya, this damn rose perfumed woman was getting on my nerves though I would have liked to tease Nandini a little using her and he saw her and she saw him, he smiled at her making Nandini confused and she smiled back..........

Malayketu thought, such a beautiful young woman is being sent to Uncle. Ah ....why not me...well whatever, my goal is my precious Nandini and he gave a desirous look to her which Chandra saw and became angry. He had strated accepting Nandini was going to be his wife to be in few days. Chandra thought, I am only tolerating this till she is not my wife. The day she is I will teach you a good lesson Malay.

Part 78

In night

Nandini asked for permission to enter Chandra's room and after proper checking she was allowed inside his room. Nandini looked a little happy and better than before which was a sign of relief for chandra. Nandini said, Pranam Maharaj. Chandra didn't say anything, she said, I came here to apologise for my indecency. I am sorry. Can you forgive me? Chandra came forward and said, no I am sorry. You were just being loyal to me and told the truth and in return I neglected your feelings. I am so sorry. He poked her nose and smiled. Nandini smiled too. There was a silence in between them for few seconds and then she bowed and when she was about to go he stopped her and they both sat on his bed. She said, when did you last hear about your family? How is Maa, Chaya, Durdhara and............your wife? Chandra laughed, he said Swarna is not my wife. She said, I didn't took her name. He was startled but still didn't say anything. Nandini sat a little closer to Chandra. She said, I know Chandra everything without you even telling me because I have been your friend. She said in a little husky voice, I have thought about you day and night since I fell in love with you. I have seen your eyes whenever I said her name, it automatically tells how much love you have for her. I am sure she has become a mother by now. Congratulations. Chandra remained silent without saying anything. After few seconds she said, Nandini you think too much, she is my friend and I love her like a friend only. Nandini laughed and then touched his face and started caressing him, she said if you love a friend like that , I am your friend too, can't you love me? Chandra this time didn't stop her, she said, I am so happy we are going to be united in few days, my heart just keeps beating faster whenever I am close to you. She was about to kiss him when he got up. Chandra said, stop it Nandini, atleast wait for our marriage. Nandini smiled and hugged him from back. Nandini said, I love you so....much....I have left my past behind and I only care for our future now. She kissed his shoulder making him nervous. He wanted to reject her but this time he wasn't able to. He turned back and said, Nandini please.....go to your room ........she caressed his cheeks again and in very passionate voice said Chandra...........and leaned to kiss him.......this time Chandra didn't stop her and they shared a passionate kiss ....when suddenly a messanger arrived.......their kiss broke, messenger said, forgive me Sire, there is a dreadful news. Chandra asked, what happened? She said, Samrat....Laghu Paurav......Laghu Paurav was killed by the courtesan........both got shocked, Chandra shouted What? Nandini was startled. Chandra left to meet Acharya, Nandini was too shocked, she was shocked that Chandra could have died today instead of Laghu Paurav if she was sent to him. She shockingly sat on bed...

Chandra met Acharya, Chandra said, what is this Acharya? Why did that courtesan killed him? Chanakya said because she was Vishkanya. Chandra said, Vishkanya? Chanakya said, she was sent by Amatya Rakshasa to kill you. Chandra said, if that's so why you sent her to Laghu Paurav. He said, because he had joined hands with Amatya to kill you. After Kaumudi Mahotsav, they would take you for hunting and the allies are all in this plot, they had decided to stab you to death. Chandra was shocked. He said, such betrayal? He thought, seems like I cannot trust anyone in this world anymore. these betrayals will make me paranoid? Chanakya further said, it was important to get rid of Laghu Paurav. Chandra said, but if they have plotted this why did he send Vishkanya? He said, because Amatya didn't want you to marry Nandini. Before that he wanted to kill you. He even contacted Nandini and told her to betray you by seducing you like a Vishkanya but she told me all about it. Chandra, she loves you from heart. Her father gave her hand to you willingly, so she is not betraying her father and she is one of the most loyal ladies I have ever seen. Too bad she still can't be Agramahishi. Chandra said, what? Why not? She is princess of former dynasty and as you said she is loyal so, why can't she be Agramahishi? Chanakya only smiled and said future will reveal everything. The Vishkanya has been killed by Laghu Paurav's guards as she didn't reveal name of Amatya even after torture. May she rest in peace. She was a loyal servant to her master. Malayketu and other allies were allowed to escape by Acharya as his plan. Chandra wanted to capture and punish them but Acharya refused.

Nandini came to her room and thanked God for saving Chandra. Nandini was very happy because Chandra was safe and she shared her first kiss with him. She took her necklace and kissed it. She said to it, very soon we will be united together, I will be your wife and Queen and soon we will have our own kids and she giggled. She jumped on her bed and said, I love you Chandra and went to sleep peacefully after a long time.

Part 79

Apama came furiously in Helena's room where she was reading a book. She was fond of reading besides dancing. Apama shouted Helena, what is this ? Your behaviour is getting worse day by day. She said What happened mother? She said, you slap anyone whenever you want. This is not how good princesses treat servants. Helena said but mother father said it's okay because they are our slaves. Apama said, forget what father said, listen to what I am saying. She said you want to marry an Emperor right? She excitingly nodded. She said, then you will have to be a kind and generous person. Your father is very generous with people and he thinks very wisely. So, you should also be kind and think wisely. Ok. Helena said ok mother if you say so. Apama kissed her forehead. She said, my sweet child. Helena said, mother I am bored, I want to do outing. Apama said, ok but where you want to go? She said, ah....Taxila, it's been years since I went there. Apama shocked, she said Helena, we went there to cure you. It wasn't a trip. It's way too far. I cannot allow it. She said, but why mother? Let me and Antiochus go there. Apama said, no Helena, you won't. And Antiochus is getting his education, you should focus on your studies. He should desire me and hate any man who would even talk to me. He should be this much possessive. Apama said, your expectations are very high. Even your father doesn't love me like that and I am his only queen. Emperors have many. Helena laughed, she said, I will pray to get a husband like that and she hugged her mother...Apama thought about oracle and thought, I just want you to be happy helena but I don't want you to marry your enemy.

Part 80

Laghu Paurav's death couldn't stop this marriage as he was declared a traitor. Chandra sent Akshay back and their army captured his kingdom easily before Malayketu could reach at Pauravdesha. Now he was trapped and hiding with Amatya Rakshasa and other allies. Akshay had met Swarna and with her help easily consolidated their rule over Laghu Paurav's kingdom. His children accepted Chandra's rule over them. Akshay also met Chandransh and Priyadarshini. Chandrash had started walking and talking also. His first word was Doodara for Durdhara.

Akshay also met Durdhara who was grieved at Chandra's marriage news but after counseling by Swarna, Mura and Akshay and a letter which Acharya sent for her she even accepted Nandini as his wife. Durdhara's message for Chandra was to congratulate him on his marriage and her wishing to see him again as his childhood friend and well wisher. Akshay said, Durdhara, you are still the only one in Chandra's heart. Durdhara sarcastically smiled and said yeah. Akshay said, no genuinely Durdhara, he loves you and remembers you. She pointed at Swarna and her children who were there talking with Mura and Chaya and said, look at them. They are his first family. He's gonna have a second family now with Nandini. Where do I stand in all this? She said, Akshay.........I don't want to be a third wheel in his and his wive's life. They are princesses and he's a king. What am I? Nothing, no one. It's better I stay in my limits. In fact if someone genuinely have any right on him that is Swarna, she's his first wife and love. I have lived on mercy of his family all my life. I am an orphan actually. Akshay said Hush....don't ever say that. We all are your family. Akshay said, well officially only Agramahishi is first among all the queens. So technically till Agramahishi is officially appointed, you cannot call Swarna or Nandini first. Durdhara smiled. Hmm...let's see which princess he will make his Agramahishi. Akshay wanted to say Durdhara's name but now even he was not sure what Acharya was planning so he stayed quiet.

The day of Nandini and Chandra's marriage arrived. Chandra and Nandini got married with proper rituals. Nandini was happy while Chandra was just going with the flow.

In night Nandini was waiting in her room for Chandra to come. She waited for this night for so long and now Chandra was her's. She was on top of the world. Chandra entered the room. Nandini grabbed her pillow in nervousness. Chandra came and lifted her veil. She was looking extremely beautiful, more beautiful than she already was. Tears came in her eyes when she saw Chandra. But Chandra was poker faced, without any emotions. He said, I came here to tell you that I would be sleeping in another room but if I hadn't come here it would be insulting so.....I am going, good night..... Nandini was shocked, she got up and stopped him. Nandini said, why such cruelty? What did I do to deserve this treatment? Chandra said tearfully, Nandini....I...I feel guilty for betraying Swarna and even more Durdhara. I am not emotionally stable this time. Nandini smiled, she came forward and said, finally you confessed about Swarna. She touched his face and said, you love her very much, don't you? He said, very much and even more my children, a son and a daughter. Nandini smiled and said, I am so happy you are trusting me with this information. Chandra I have always said, I will accept any woman in your life. She took his hand and kissed it. She said, I have been a princess since I was a child and have seen many things which can be heart wrenching for a wife....it's not like we don't have a heart but......we.....are ready to accept the pain and regarding Durdhara, only fate will now decide about you two. I am not concerned with her. Chandra said, you never seemed so sacrificing? What's your plan? Nandini said, I am not sacrificial but Swarna's relationship with you is just to safeguard your lineage and I accept it just because of that, regarding Durdhara, I only tolerate her because you love her too much. Chandra this is our night, can you please stop being so guilty and not mention them. You are not a commoner, you have different life, different duties.

It started raining, Nandini removed her jewellery and her veil......Chandra was uneasy....she came forward and kissed his forehead.......and in his ears said I love you..... Chandra said I am still uncomfortable in replying it back.......Nandini just hugged him and said ........I will try to win it. She came closer to him and kissed him......at first he was uncomfortable and then he reciprocated and then suddenly she pushed him on the bed..........she came close to him and started kissing him....... Chandra surrendered himself to her and they had their first night..........

In early morning, Chandra and Nandini were lying together....she was very happy...she said, Chandra? What will you do now? He said what? She said caressing his Hair, I mean what's next after Magadha. He said, I don't talk about it with my wives. She laughed, oh so that means you still don't trust me....fine...I will try to win the trust, you told me Swarna so I am getting there..Chandra said, don't mention her while we are like this, I feel uncomfortable. Nandini smiled and said fine, she hugged him and said, I feel terrible about my curse. I said all that in anger......now I think I was so silly, there is no way you can love anyone like that. You are a rational man and loving someone this passionately is impossible for anyone. What was I thinking. She giggled but Chandra said, I am not a fool in love. No woman can make me love her so much that I will spare my enemies for her or do anything for her. Again thunderstorms happened while raining......

Oracle had a vision .........she saw thunderstorms.....and laughed.....she said, You Can't Escape.......the rose is blooming day by day....beware lion.......you will be trapped.......it's decided by him...the curse is only a medium and she laughed again...........you fool, you cursed, you lost.................

Part 81

After few days

Akshay had come back from Taxila and met Chandra. He was anxious to know about his family. Akshay said, they all are very well Chandra. He asked, how is Swarna and my kids? He said, she is fine, she sent a letter for you and look Chandransh made a drawing, she sent it for you. Chandra saw it and got happy tears. She also sent this handprint of Priyadarshini. The little handprint made Chandra cry from joy. He was very sad he couldn't meet them. Akshay said, and Chandra Durdhara sent this letter for you. Chandra quickly took it. Akshay left to give Chandra time to read. Chandra first read Durdhara's letter and he cried reading it. Durdhara congratulated him on his marriage and had expressed wish to meet the king who was once his childhood friend. She didn't write any romantic thing in the letter. Chandra thought, this is not how I wanted our story to turn. He then read Swarna's letter. She had first written about the situation in north west and how she is controlling it for him with his appointed Satrap Pushyagupta there. She also hinted Chaya and Pushya may have started liking each other. It made Chandra smile. She then wrote about their kids and also about Chandransh's first steps and word. Chandra tearfully laughed at the word Doodara. He then told him about health of Mura and then she expressed her love for him and how much she missed him. She also congratulated him on his success and marriage with Nandini. She wrote, I hope finally she will get some good sense in her head. Chandra laughed. He thought, after so long I am laughing like this. Wish I could call them here. So chaya has found a groom for herself. I must talk with Pushyagupta now. He smiled.

Chandra sat to eat food during lunch. Chanakya was there. Suddenly he saw his soup looked greener than usual. He said, hold up...Chandra was about to eat when stopped. He called for the chef...chef arrived, Chanakya said, eat this soup. Chef hesitated, he shouted drink this soup. Chef drank the soup tearfully...... suddenly after some minutes he started having fever and he collapsed.... Chandra was shocked. Chandra said, Was there poison in my food? Chanakya said, yes Chandra, there was poison in your spinach soup. Chandra said but Acharya how did you know? Chanakya didn't answer. He said, give this food to our Vishkanyas as their daily dose. Chandra was shocked. When Nandini got to know this show came to meet him, he was furious, he said, Amatya did this. Nandini was silent......She said Chandra I....he said leave Nandini..... apparently marrying you is not being fruitful to me. Your father's loyalists are still after my life. Nandini said, I know you didn't marry me for love but atleast you can be a little kind. Chandra said, I have been kind to you enough now please leave. Nandini left tearfully. Nandini thought, since our night he hasn't visited me......what should I do to gain his love and trust? Amatya why are you ruining my marriage? Just when I think I will finally get love of Chandra something happens which again creates distance between us. I must do something to gain his love but what?

Part 82

Nandini was with her maids and they were chatting together. One said, Samrat really loves you Devi, we have seen it, you two look so beautiful together. But Nandini was only fake smiling. Another said, no matter who else comes in his life next, Agramahishi will be our sweet Rajkumar only. Nandini was like woken from slumber, she totally forget about being Agramahishi. She was still not given charge of Antahpura and she now felt it weird. She thought probably Chandra wanted to stabilize things till then Amtarvanshik would handle everything.

Chandra was talking to Acharya and he told him that he was planning to entrap Amatya by faking a feud between themselves. Chandra said, feud how? Acharya said, I will make Amatya believe you removed me as Mahaamatya. Chandra said and what will we gain from this? Acharya said, let got with the flow Chandra. All your foes who wants to ruin you shall be uprooted. Chandra said Acharya I wanted to ask one more thing. He said, you are thinking about your family right? Chandra said, yes Acharya, I know you don't want them here till things are under control but....Acharya said, Chandra you are like my son, but you will have to wait a little longer till you can meet them. It's good for them and you. Chandra disappointingly agreed.

Helena had went on an outing with her friends and Antiochus and his friends. One of them was Achilles and he liked Helena a lot due to her beauty. They reached a massive playing ground where some local kids were playing. They were in disguise as commoners and their guards were also dressed as one. They all started playing. Suddenly, Achilles came to Helena while playing and tried to grab her hand.

Chandra went into his room and saw a dasi was touching a gift from Durdhara to Chandra when they were children. He allowed no one to touch it. He became enraged. As Achilles was about to touch Helena's hands, Chandra shouted in his room, No one can touch the things which belong to me.......and suddenly Achilles felt current in his hand and he couldn't touch her. Thunderstorms happened. Helena said, oh lord, these thunderstorms have become way too often these days. Chandra shouted, the things which belong to me, no one can touch them. His eyes became red. Dasi got scared and pleaded for mercy. She ran away after being pardoned. He took her gift and said to it, the only person who I wanted to be with is far away from me..............how can I bear hurting her so much. He started crying. He saw his kids gifts to him and boxed Durdhara's gifts up. He said, I won't touch them till Durdhara officially marries me. I can't hurt Swarna and Nandini and insult Durdhara like this. I will wait for the day till Acharya tells me to marry Durdhara. I have faith that one day she will get what she deserves. Suddenly footsteps he heard. It was of a woman. She entered without permission. He got angry and when he was about to ask her she did pranam and said, Maharaj I am Shonottara. Your personal bodyguard. I am here to serve you .........in any way you want. He told her to come closer. She came, he got a good look of her and asked, are you a Yavana? She said, yes my lord. My father was a Yavana but my mother was a Ganika. Acharya saved me when I was a baby when my mother was about to sell me. He prepared me in warfare and other skills. He has prepared me for you. He smiled. He touched her chin and said so you are here to serve me? She said yes my lord. He smiled. She gave a submissive but confident look.

Nandini was in her room thinking about Agramahishi but then she thought how should I make Chandra come to me. I must go to his room. She went to meet him. Guards outside said Samrat cannot meet you. She said why? Is any important discussion happening inside? Is Acharya inside? Guard said, no Devi, some woman is inside. She got absolutely shocked. She said woman? Who? Was it someone named Swarna? Or Durdhara? Guard got confused. He said, no Devi, I don't know the name. She was absolutely shocked. Nandini ran to her room in anger. She said no Chandra, you cant do this to me. I can share you but not like this. She took a vase and hurt herself with it. Her maids came and Nandini was crying in pain, she said, Call Samrat.........I am in deep pain.. Guards were told it was an emergency, when they entered Chandra and Shonottara were talking.....they told him about this and Chandra with Shonottara ran to her room..... Nandini saw him with Shonottara.....she told everyone to leave. Chandra hinted everyone to leave. Chandra said, how did you hurt youself? She said, no Chandra you hurt me. I went to you room and you were with a woman. He said, so? Cant I talk to women now? Am I supposed to spend day and night with you. He got furious and in your stupidity you did this terrible thing. Your jealousy will not take you anywhere Nandini. Shonottara is my personal guard. I was just getting to know her. I don't own any explanation to you. Just when I start liking you , you do something so dreadful I feel only pity for you that you are like this. Nandini got shocked, the doctors had given her some medicines. Chandra said I had warned you to behave. This is my last warning to you. Treat me as you treat a king. If you want only a husband I will gladly leave you and you can marry another man. Remember this. No matter who am I with, next time you do such a thing I won't be coming and he left in anger. Nandini realised she did a very irrational thing without thinking. She remembered Suhasini's words of changing herself before it's too late. She said, fine Chandra, from now on I won't protest you going to other women but one day you will understand me. It's not easy to see your love with another person. The jealousy is extreme. The day you will feel this, the pain will be unbearable. Hope you feel it one day, the woman who would you desire and you won't be able to confess it , that day you will understand. You will only be relieved from the pain when she will surrender herself to you. And she started crying.

Part 83

Acharya and Chandra started arguing in the court on taxes and other matters. To courtiers it seemed they couldn't get on consensus with each other. It was all fake though. The matter reached the ears of Amatya Rakshasa and Malayketu. Malayketu said seems like Chandra wants to ruin himself. He's not as intelligent as Acharya. Amatya said, I will kill Chandra and put you on the throne and Nandini shall be yours. Malayketu said but your three attempts failed. Amatya said but one day I will definitely get success. Don't worry he smirked. Now we shall try to join forces and attack Chandra. Without Acharya he cannot do anything. Nandini was shocked to know this and went to meet Chandra. He allowed her to meet him. She was looking absolutely gorgeous in her red dress and this was the first time he noticed her with his heart. He hinted Shonottara to leave. She was a loyal servant but Nandini hated her intimacy with Chandra. Nandini says, I heard Acharya left in anger and went to a jungle. He said thats right he was trying to control me too much. And he wasn't letting me marry Durdhara. Nandini said, so you let me go away. He said, it was his choice. Nandini said, you two seemed inseparable, this is weird. Chandra said, what do you want? Nandini said, don't worry, I won't be begging for love from you anymore. I was genuinely concerned with all this. You are my husband, I will only think of your better. If possible call back Acharya. Chandra was surprised and thought, is she really loyal to me? It always surprises me. When Nandini was about to go he grabbed her from back. Nandini was shocked..He said, don't go and smelled her hair. She was shocked but felt absolue sensation in her body. She turned back and he opened her hair. He grabbed her from the waist and pulled her closer. Nandini said, what is this? I don't want your charity. He rubbed his nose with her and said, it's no charity, it's my right as well as yours and they kissed and left them in each other's embrace. Nandini felt really happy. Shonottara was outside listening and watching all this secretly as she was ordered by Acharya to always have an eye even on queens even in most private moments as it was important for his protection. Shonottara thought, "Serving a king is difficult".

Amatya met Jeevsiddhi, an important advisor to Dhan Nanda who escaped with Amatya and now helped him against Chandra. He gave some jewellery to Amatya in gift and he wore it out of respect for his friend. When Malayketu met Amatya he was shocked to see the Jewellery.

Durdhara is always worried about the curse. No matter how much she knows Chandra loves her, she knows things may change too.

Chandra does not like the smell of roses? Helena on the other hand is comparing herself with a rose.

Why is Nandini being part of the deal to entice someone? That is not fair to her even if she is the enemy.
