You feel you have come a long way

Definitely.I was overweight,so clothes wouldnt fit me well.I would wear whatever fitted me and those were never the best options.Now I am trying to lose weight and I have more options.Earlier,I had to cover my arms and wear full sleeve clothes and those were ugly clothes.

But isnt the industry opening up to women with fuller figures like Sonakshi

I dont care about that.I personally dont want to be overweight.I used to be 86 kilos,I used to wear size 38.Right now,fitting into a jeans of size 30 is a big achievement.

Sidharth,who do you think are your competitors

I think all... five to six of us.It is tough to pick one name.We are still figuring out our own films.Recently,I was quoted saying that Ranbir is my competition and what I meant was that if I compete,I will compete with the best.I would have loved to do a Rockstar or a Barfi.Between me,Arjun,Varun,Ayushmann,Sushant... it is tough to pick,it is only a matter of time that you will find out.

Parineeti,so far you have worked with actors in your age group and not with senior actors.Is it deliberate or you havent been offered films with them

I was offered a lot of films which are now released or in the making but I didnt have much to do in those films.I refused them.I dont want to do such films that on a Friday I will be searching for myself in the films.

Sidharth,is Parineeti as talkative on the set

Yes,of course.We would have interesting conversation on sets.It is very easy to get along with her and this is what helps the film.If you dont like both of us in the film you wont enjoy it.It helped the quirkiness,romance

It is a myth that Sid doesnt talk.Just that he is softer,sober,more suaveit takes him two to three days to open up.On the first day I was worried because he just wouldnt talk or reply.I told Varun that this guy doesnt talk and Varun said,Sid talks a lot.Sure enough when I started knowing him,he talks a lot.

Parineeti,you have said that romance is important for you and that boyfriend and career can co-exist,so what is stopping you

There are no boysAll the guys I meet are either my co-actors or my directors or my Ads.I meet people on sets but I havent fallen for any of them.I am open to it,I am looking forward to a relationship,but it should come.I am meeting only my colleagues.

What is your idea of a right person

Somebody who understands an actresss life because it is a bit unpredictable.My guy should be okay with me romancing other heroes.I cant imagine dating anyone from outside the industry because they will not understand.My parents dont understand my life.They dont understand that it is okay to go to a party at midnight.They feel I should be sleeping at 10pm.Also that person should be fun loving and not boring.

Fun-loving guy No I dont want to be with one (laughs).When you meet somebody interesting you know.For me it doesnt matter that she should be from the industry or not.When you meet somebody from outside the industry it is far more interesting at times.Otherwise you talk about the same thing.You are more aware about the outside world or else it gets monotonous.

I would invent an invisibility cloak! Id like to be invisible and go to peoples houses and find out.I wont be naming whos but loads of people,Id go to! I would see if anybody is saying anything about me,who does what,how and find out all the dating rumours if they are true.

Rumours of you dating filmmaker Maneesh Sharma are still doing the rounds

I am used to this rumour now.It doesnt matter.My feeling for Maneesh is very different.He is the reason I am here today.I respect him for he is everything for me.He has changed my life.The reason I am able to get a house,car,money or the roles that I have got,success.. its because he thought of me first.Nobody did.Its very sick that both of us are linked.Hes my best friend in the world.To think about him like that is ewww! But we laugh at it now.We joke,we both cant go for a film together because it will appear in papers tomorrow.Its not affected our relation.Otherwise it can get awkward.We are used to it now.

Sidharth,how bold can you get on screen Will you lock lips with a guy

I dont think we can pull it off in Indian cinema as yet.Locking lips with a girl has just started.Brokeback (Mountain) in India will take a while.I dont know.It depends on the director,script and why not.If an actor needs to do what the director says.. If I am into the script.. why not.

Yes,because I know them closely.Alia is a friend.Ive only worked with these two.I am comfortable.Pari adds - Thats a very cocky show,everyone says cool things.You cant be boring,its a gossip chat show.Akshay Kumar was cool on it.
