I know we're ll afraid. But my father told me: "Someday, someone was gonna have to take a stand. Someday, someone was gonna have to say enough!" This could be that day. Trust your senses, and don't look this bitch in the eye.
Perseus, Clash of the Titans

So what happens when two persons, practically same on the inside collide? Well expect lots of fireworks and anger that hisses out vehemently! Paro and Rudra are two such strangers who carry the same stride albeit in varying forms! Paro has suffered loss and pain and so has Rudra in his initial days. Both have been thrashed terribly and both hate betrayal. The only difference is the expression. While Rudra goes volatile blaming everyone around and hurling invectives, Paro stashes only when required. Superficially they might look poles apart but are bound by a very strong emotion that now is hate!

Hate is a mighty monster, and it is its expression that shows what you are inside! Rudra is your passionate, black devil. Destruction synonyms him and there is no way you can pull him to a calmer level of thoughts. It is his hate and insecurity about women, no, beautiful women that makes him all ruthless. For him its the same betrayal shown by his mother that he is presently is witnessing in Paro. He has somehow drawn the line that says beautiful women belong to none and so for him, Paro is committing treason against the state is all natural.

On the other hand Paro has lost a lot that always was covered under the bravado of BSD's doing. Her hate against these soldiers is sublime. It used to haunt her, reminding her constantly how brutal those officers were. Her fear, her anxiety and her denial and refusal were but a mask to the hatred she had kept ignited all these years. She calmly but ferociously lashes out to Rudra, like throbbing pain, that he is not human but monster that devours all. Her volatile expression though suppressed are still very much felt!Hence you see, these two are practically one and the same person with only difference in their methods of approaching!

Mythology speaks of Parvati transforming into numerable forms. She does it to strike a balance it the universe. Her one of the most celebrated form is that of Annapurna, the Mistress of all nutrition. she is the reason that wheat blooms and there is food to survive. She provides for. Her consort Lord Shiva accepts all the offerings but loves the food cooked by his wife. Parvati is always seen as giving alms and food to Shiva only after tasting it herself. What you saw Rudra doing was a role reversal of the same! He sips water and then passes it on to Paro. Quite a remarkable scene undoubtedly!

Then comes Tejawat and Thakuraiin. Thakuraiin is a simple lady who cares for everyone around her. For her Paro's safety matters and she'll go any lengths to make sure her Paro is safe and sound! But unfortunately the same cannot be said about Tejawat! For him what matters is his own sanctuary that he'll not allow to break! He so very cleverly deviates the blaming game towards BSD and hatches a plan to get rid of Paro. He does all of it openly but no one can point their finger on him. Such men are supposed to be feared for you'll never know what might they take up and what might they do.

When Sati had married Shiva against the wishes of her father, Daksha had acknowledged her as dead, while Prasuti kept yearning for her daughter! Same is seen here with Tejawat and Thakuraiin. While she longs for Paro's return, he wishes and arranges for her death. What awaits all these people, only time will tell.

While most of you here find Rudra's visit to Laila not necessary, I find it needed. It was there only to establish the fact that Rudra objectifies and seeks only those who can provide him certain distraction. Laila is everything that isn't constant. Though she loves Rudra, she'll change her sides if need be and thus is an excellent distraction. You see Rudra in his own twisted way cares for Paro which according to him is not acceptable. She is a beautiful woman and hence a cheat who'd betray him in the end. Therefore he needs distraction and Laila seems to be the only distraction he has. He is a broken, hollow man and to try and fill him with Holy Grails water is madness. He consumes and survives on poison and that's what Laila offers him!

P.S. I wanna see more of Aman. He is quite an actor!!

P.P.S. I do doubt that Rudra is Thakuraiin's son! Agar aisa hai toh Paro kii toh shaamat hii aa gayi!

P.P.P.S. Precap- main chup rahungi!!

I don't see Laila as a distraction but I see her more of a necessity now for Rudra since she is his punching bag - Someone who is there for him amidst the mothers who left him and a heroine who doesn't bow to his wishes. And that is why he needed to go to Laila

Hi Shivi, nice post.. I was waiting for your take on the episode and for you to correlate it to the Shiv-Parvati saga. I don't know if the makers themselves are aware of these parallels, or if they introduce those scenes only for spicing things up.
As for Laila and Rudra's scene , I quite agree with you. Although it's physiologically impossible to have sex while you are bleeding and your gashes are probably getting infected ( hello, heat, dust and open wounds?) , it served as a window into Rudra's personality. He seeks Laila for physical comfort. And only physical comfort. He doesn't allow her to clean his wounds , so that he will never owe her his gratitude. And he throws her concern in her face, as if avenging his loveless childhood . One beautiful woman deprived him of love, and now he does the same to another.
Paro' s breakdown is as heartbreaking as beautiful to watch. Beautiful because they stuck to reality. She is in PTSD and needs help. Like, now.

Shivani I was waiting for your post. Liked how you related the water passing scene with mythology. I too agree with the earlier comment of whether makers being aware of these correlations . You do it beautifully.Don't know about Thakurain , will wait how they are going to unfold. Agree with Laila-Rudra equation..One thing is for sure Paro has to face lot in future, including Laila. Actor playing Aman is good.

Well necessity always means a kind of emotional attachment something that Rudra can't allow. Yes while its true that he is trying to return his mother's betrayal to beautiful women, he is not making anyone of them his necessity!!

Hi!! Sorry Su won't be able to give you long reply as I am online through my cell phone.

Laila is nothing but a way out of all the "khoobsurat aurat" saga that he has been hearing since his childhood. While he doesn't want any emotional attachment, he goes to Laila for a certain satisfaction( not just physical!). His beautiful mother betrayed him and now he treats beautiful women as dirt, its a kind of catharisis for him!

Thanks di! I believe that the makers must be aware! After all they have created quite a stirr!

I don't know di but I am beginning to doubt Thakuraiin. She might be the mother to Rudra. And if that happens a bigger bloodshed would definately take place!

the symbolic explanations of the characters was good
When you don't have anything to loose, it makes you brave, Paro is in such a situation
loved your post
