Marriage is not a game? So just because Samrat is not physically abusive, Urmi should be expected to stick through and "change" him, and also adjust herself?
I agree adjustment needs to come from both sides, and she herself is a bit too naive and a dreamer. But the scales are not tipped equally. Samrat's behavior is not acceptable in the least and women shouldn't be expected to always stick with such marriages simply because it's "indian culture."
Samrat is not physically abusive, and for that I thank the writers. What, only when a husband cheats or is physically abusive, only then it's acceptable for a woman to leave a marriage?
This show portrays the marriage and men like Samrat in a very realistic manner. Unlike many other shows which go and show full extremes, DAK doesn't try to make Samrat an out and out lewd and physical abuser. That doesn't mean a woman in such a marriage shouldn't be shown moving on.
It's exactly the problem with the community. Oh, he's not physically abusive, so she should just work on it and stick with it.
