I didnt watch this when its started but i have started watching it sort of each week, in UK we saw Sanju and he was talking to Uma about the Prashant incident, who is he? is he dead? and what's his relationship with Uma?

Sanju or Sanjay is Uma Didi's younger brother.

Sanju dies very early on in the serial... In fact he is killed by Dushyant and gang I think.

Sanju's soul/ghost however keeps making its appearance and talks to Uma didi whenever she is upset or sad or worried.
