....A prestigious college for junior and senior degree college for Arts and Sciences for 60 years and so….
The ats students and science students have their own egos, pride and prejudice. They follow a strict 'syllabus', which is not taught in their regular college books….The syllabus is, 'Is Arts is superior OR Science?
No arts Student should make friendship with any Science student….That is the law they strictly follow.
"If two siblings choose two different electives (science or arts), then they must forget their relationship with eachother and act like rivals."
This became a strict rule to everyone as well as a tradition that was started so long ago, no one could change it.
Arts students are decent and call themselves 'CLAWS,' while Science students lack a little discipline and call themselves "WINGS."The group symbol of the college is 'EAGLE'.
Both groups carry dresses, caps, hats, bikes with their own symbols to separate their identify from eachother.
Prithvi, the final year degree student, is the leader of Arts group while Angad, another final year student, is the leader Science group. They both hang around with a dozen of co-students all the time.
Both are very studious, handsome, daring and dashing.
Angad is very likeable but has bad habits like smoking, drinking. Prithvi hangs mostly around girls who are attracted to him for his noble character.
Each of the groups can have many differences but will unite if the college is at harm.
For instance during elections if the political supporters, promoters try to paint their slogans on their college walls, both Arts and Science groups will bang them in different occasions. The leaders think that other group is supporting them yet, they fail to understand who is actually on their side.
The science group never leaves any bit of chance to harass the art student if they got him/her alone and vice versa .
No wonder everyone call the college M.K.COLLEGE OF ARTS Vs. SCIENCES instead of Arts & Sciences…
All college students do manage riding bikes without helmets, license and so on. Lot of students get harassed by the police occasionally for their non-licensed rides, mischief on the roads, and even occasional fights at the college premises.
One day Angad and his followers were waiting at a bus stand to get to college. They were teasing other co students who were nervous to face the college even after a year of experience. Some Arts students were trying to stop Angad and his followeres but some of the arts srudents friends stoped them from interfering.
A sweet, petite young girl around 16/17 was walking along with her friend and explaining to her why she had to join MK college. She was wearing a pink strap shirt with a dark pink long skirt and two braids.
"Harshini! You know my father had to go to Mumbai for my mom's medication otherwise my father wouldn't have wanted me to join a coed college."
"Oho Kripa! Then why did you join here when you have so many other girls colleges?" Harshini acted innocently.
"Kya karein? All my ill fate. I hate people fighting like this. I was so happy in my town. My school principle was very kind and generous. She loved me a lot and it's because of her I was able to handle so many extra-curricular activities like music, art, elocution, AND literature. I chose Arts on her advice. "
Harshini smiled at her frustration "Okey! Okey! I'm hearing this for the third time now. Chalo mein ek bouquet order karkey aati hoon. Tum wo bus stop mein wait karo aur bus aagaya to chaley jaana"
Kripa nodded her head innocently and walked to the bus stop. As soon as she reached the bus stop the bus came. Unknowingly, she climbed the bus with none other than, science students.
Some students from the arts group were humiliated.
"why do we have to face this? The science students always get the bus first!" Others consoled them to be patient beacause they didn't have enough students to face the Science group.
"Has anyone of you seen my friend Kripa here?" Harshini asked her group at the bus stop.
"Who, that pink shirted girl? Yes, she went with that Science group" one of the Arts' group answered.
Harshini startled "Oh my God, what did you do? Kripa is an Arts student and she has gone alone with Science people!! We have to rescue her"
The rest of the group chased the bus where Angad and the others had left just a few seconds before.
Harshini and the Arts students had to stop after a while to get their breath back.
Angad and his group were playing pranks on the younger students when suddenly, Angad's eyes fell on Kripa. His jaw dropped. He stroked his hair and turned towards her "Hi! I'm Angad" he held his hand out.
Kripa smiled "HI! I'm Kripa" she was about to shake her hand with Angad when Angad's best friend Aaliyah met her hands "Hi! I'm Aaliyah, this is Manik, this is Shabbir, this is Raj….." she introduced all other group mates. Angad got angry and shut Aaliyah's mouth and started his conversation with Kripa.
"So what is your subject? Math? Physics? Chemistry?..." Everyone else started asking her one by one without giving her a chance to speak out.
Kripa was startled at their reaction and says "NO' …'No'"no"..
She paused and then replied "Civics…..Commerce….Economics"
Everyone was stunned. They screamed aloud together "OHHO…arts…Common guys …take the steering…we got a lucky chance…" Angad shouted. Aaliyah and others held Kripa's hands as they didn't want to give her a chance to run away from them.
Kripa was shocked and stood up for the sudden movement as she understood the tension among the two groups in the college on first day.
One of the guys took the steering of the bus and pushed the driver aside and the driver couldn't say anything beacuse he also knew about their rivalry.
Kripa started pleading "Please leave me alone..I didn't know that this bus was yours and you all are science…sorry I will never get into this bus again..please leave me alone…please……please" and then started crying.
But the adamant Science students ignored her pleadings
Angad was jumping with glory "No problem Kripa! Just bare with us…hey guys we cannot lose this amazing chance…let's do our work" he was so amazed at this chance that he clapped his hands together.
The arts group took another bus and chased after the science bus. At last they reached the premises. The Science group ran out of the bus and dragged Kripa into the class room.
Prithvi's group chased them into the college just when Angad's group closed the doors at Prithvi's face.
Some of science students arranged the tables together and lay Kripa on them face down. Kripa was struggling to free herself in vein. Aaliyah and other girls strongly held both of her hands.
Other boys held her legs. Some students pulled her shirt up. Angad started laughing wickedly and folded his sleeves. Kripa was crying uncontrollably "NO…NO….NO…don't do anything…I will never get in your bus again…I'm sorry…I'm sorry…"
Angad stroked his hair once "don't worry babe…we are all here to help you out…just a few minutes…be patient…and close your eyes…bus…hamara kaam khatam……..and……you will be relieved…that's all.."
He started walking slowly towards her while she was trembling with fear. She started struggling hard to release herself.
