Actually I don't think it was a 180 turn at all. He is speaking, retrospectively not stabbing anyone in the back. The reporter asked why it didn't work and he gave his reasons on why it didn't. His reasons sound valid. He is not dissing the film, merely giving his POV, a valid one at that. I felt the same even though I loved the film, still love the film. Hell... It's my favorite of last year. I even wrote the same in my review on IF after I came back from watching it in the theatre. I knew not many would understand the pace let alone like it. Not many people care for nuanced execution of plot lines. You will find many here calling it a bakwas film even though execution wise and technically, it was a sound film. So is it any wonder it didn't do well money wise.

He praises Vikramaditya Motwane in the interview too.😊 They have just selected an excerpt of it and put it with his picture.
