I haven't found my kind of girl so far: Neil Bhatt
Neil Bhatt studied law but acting and dance has always been his passion. Working in Tellywood for the last five years, Neil has done many shows,and is best known forArsalaan, 12/24 Karol Bagh, Gulaal followed by Ramayan. Having donned a variety of roles, Neil is now playing a parallel lead (as Zakir) in Diya Aur Baati Hum. Neil sounds excited about his new telly offering and claims that even an episodic appearance in Yeh Hai Aashiqui made him happy. Excerpts from a chat:
You were on a break post Ramayan. Was that deliberate?
Ramayan was being shot in Vadodara so I was away from home for almost one year and it was too much to handle. So I decided to take a short break from work spent time with my family. I had shifted to my new home last year, but had been unable to spend time there because I was parked in Vadodara. But I've done some episodics in Gumraah and Savdhaan India and recently Yeh Hai Aashiqui.
Seems like your new home has been lucky for you.
I agree! My home's brought a lot of good work for me and good things have been happening in family since the time I have moved into the new place.
How has been the experience of working for episodics?
Brilliant! It feels more like shooting for movies. An actor knows the entire storyline of the episodic and it is very specific. Episodics are not dictated by TVTs unlike daily soaps. Daily soaps are unpredictable. You won't know where the story or a character will change its colour/track! A daily soap starts from one point and you don't know what the story has led to.
You played a classical dancer in an episodic. It was an amazing experience because I got to showcase myself as a dancer which I had been wanting to do for a long time. I have not learnt classical dancingbut it wasn't too tough to pick up the steps. I got to do a romantic character after a very long time and what more could I have asked for than Madhuri Dixit promoting the episode!
Now you are back to doing daily soaps...
Yes " I have bagged an important role in Diya Aur Baati Hum. I play the role of Zakir. It's an interesting character, and in coming episodes people will get to know more about my character. What I am enjoying about this role is I'm going to do action oriented sequences.
So are you single or dating someone?
I'm very much single. I haven't found my kind of girl so far. I am a simple person and all I want is a simple girl. I will surely tell the world about her when I find her! As of now, my romance is limited to acting.
You were dating Smriti Kalra, your co-actor in 12/24 Karol Bagh?
No! Smriti, Ravi (Dubey) and Sargun (Mehta) are best of friends. We are like a family and bonded on the sets of Karol Bagh. It is rare that actors continue to be friends even after the show wraps up. Karol Bagh was over three years back but the four of us continue to meet, talk and have a gala time together.
