Ok I might sound stupid making this topic but today while watching the episode I did not understand why Inspector Singh (IS) had to stress to call her Sir and not Madam. I know that she preaches equality but does calling her Sir will accompolish that? or for that matter just having short haircut will endorse equality..is it so necessary to address someone as Sir to show that all are equal ???
any thoughts?

i think it's a bit pointless to be honest. Wonder if this is what happens in the real life academies.

So true! I also don't get this concept. For me, it sounds more offensive for Officer Singh to be called as sir. It suggests that girls have to go out of their way to be more like stereotypical males in order to be an IPS officer. And like Sindu said .. why not everyone .. including male officers .. be called as Ma'am??

So true. Don't get it. Important to be not differentiated, discriminated n treated with respect as police forces, army are all male dominated fields, where toughness matters, one doesn't want to be feminine,...
But insistence on sir?!
Yeah, why not all officers as ma am?
How actors n actresses are just called actors, like female actors n male actors, hope they don't say female sir n male sir!!!😆🤪

exactly nneill...I thought the same too...gender equality is good but calling a lady 'sir' sounds a bit ridiculous to me...so when they are talking about her should they address her as 'he' or "she"?🤢
I felt that she is not proud to be called herself a woman...

Exactly!

But who knows .. maybe Sandhya will give a bhashan sometime later in the track to point out this contradiction. CVs like to give such surprises. Haven't watched today's epi .. but if they are really emphasizing this .. it could be for a reason. Either that .. or i'm way too optimistic 😳

I agree with y'all that this is quite offensive to females calling them sir, sure why not calling male officers as ma'am. This is yet another attempt to make women more macho to be in male dominated jobs. Why not celebrate females just the way God made them, I hope next officer Singh is not going to ask female trainees to cut their hair in the ridiculous manner her own hairdo is in.

I also noticed the female uniform are not cut for women, it. Is quite clear from Sandhya's uniform pants they are made for males, female pants are quite different in their looks and how they fit.

I am under the impression that this is going to open a ridiculous can of worms with one stupid thing after another and yeah not to mention drama over drama every step of the way.

Just my two cents guys...
