Chapter 23:

It was sunny morning but still winter's coldness was present. Taani was busy in checking everything. Her laptop, mobile charger, related files. Today, she was wearing blue and white shaded jeans and a pink with red floral top. She got a message from Rey yesterday. They were going early to Banglore. So, they won't be doing work, the minute they put their feet in banglore. So, they can wear something casual. Taani heard a beep of horn. Rey must be here..She thought.

She sighted and last time, she checked her reflection in mirror. Generally, Taani never focused on her looks. She never bother to do make up. But, today. She took an extra effort. She wanted to look nice, may be PERFECT. She had put a pair of silver ring-shaped earrings, her hair were a little bit curly. A mild stroke of eyeliner. She sighted in satisfaction at her reflection. She knew, for what reason she is taking so much effort. She knew, this is wrong against what she has decided. " I just want a change.." She chanted in her mind, to make herself believe that she just did because she wanted some change. Not because of him. Taani's cell beeped for a message.

Rey:

I am down. :)

Taani took a deep breath and switched off all the lights and locked her apartment. She dragged her luggage with effort towards main gate. She found Rey's car standing. But, she couldn't see Rey. She looked here and there. She bite her lips and dragged her luggage towards the dikky of car.

"Taani.." It was his voice. She could feel, some ticklish feeling in her stomach. An unstoppable smile was making it's way on her lips. She turned and met with wide honey brown eyes. The surprise was written all over his face. Her breath caught in it's way, when she took his appearance. He was wearing casual- A dark blue but little bit faded jeans, a white T-shirt and a jacket. It's not like, he looked bad in his Armani suit at office. He looks handsome and dashing in his profession attire. But, right now, he look different. If Taani was not his secretary, if she didn't know who he is, what's his position and If Taani saw him in this attire. She would have assumed that he is a model. Because, right now, he is looking like a model. He is looking ummm... HOT.

Get a grip Taani!!! Taani scolded herself.

She looked up at Rey who cleared his throat and was standing few feet away from her. His eyes were drinking her beauty. When she looked up, his eyes got fixed on her face. He cleared his throat. "Ummm... Hey, Good morning!" He murmured.

Stop acting like a TEENAGER! Rey warned in his mind.

Taani smiled at him and murmured good morning. " You are looking umm... Beautiful!" He complimented. She bite her lips and whispered a Thank You. A crimson blush was spreading on her cheeks. He grinned at her and took her luggage and motioned her to sit on passenger sit. Taani settled down and Rey was adjusting the bags in dikky.

"Get a grip Taani. You were almost blushing! Ugh!" Taani warned herself.

Rey drove them to Airport. All the procedure was done. In 20 minutes, plane was going to take off. Taani took a sit of near window and Rey sat beside her. Taani looked around. Not so many people were boarding. That was strange! She shrugged and busied her herself in a random magazine.

DING! Announcement: We are requesting passengers to clamp their sitbelts. The plane will take off in 5 minutes.

Taani froze at announcement. She and her fear of plane. She is fine during the journey in air. But, while take off and landing, she can almost have panic attack. She looked at Rey who was already looking at her with a smirk. She narrowed her eyes at him and he chuckled.

"What?? What is funny??" Taani asked, but her voice was shaking. Rey shook his head and shrugged.

"Nonthing is funny!" He said in same tone, just like, Taani's shaking one. Taani knew, he was mocking her. She clamped her seatbelt. Rey was doing the same. Soon enough, plane was taking its speed on runway for take off. Taani clutched the seat's hand-rest tightly. The first jerk came and plane's speed increased to super fast.

Taani gulped. She felt her hand was removed from hand-rest and was under something warm. She looked at her hand and found that Rey had taken her hand in his. He leaned and his cologne hit her nose. Somewhat, her mind got distracted. "Just lay back and close your eyes. Trust me? Hmm??" Rey murmured in her ear. She nodded and obeyed what she was told.

She could feel that plane was in process to enter in air level. Rey was drowning circles gently by his thumb on her knuckle. Taani's nerve's were calming down slightly. Soon, the announcement done mentioning the names of pilot and the height at which the plane is. Taani opened her slowly and looked towards Rey who smiled at her slightly. His hand was still holding hers. She looked at their hands. They just fitted perfectly. Taani looked around, hardly 5-6 passengers were only sitting. Taani's curiosity raised and she asked Rey, "why there are so less passengers? I mean.." She again looked around and Rey followed her gaze.

Rey shrugged, "I don't trust media. You know.. so.. I told Steve to see to it that not so many peoples should be around us." Taani tensed as soon as she heard Media. The flashback and everything blinked in her mind like alert rings. She looked at their hands and quickly removed hers. Rey's head snapped towards her. In a second, he knew she was tense, upset. "Taani, it's ok." His voice calmed down a bit. But, she need a talk with herself. She unclamped her sitbelt and stood up.

"What happen-" Rey got panic. But, Taani cut him. "I need to use washroom." She informed him. He nodded but his eyes were showing worry, concern towards her.

She headed towards washroom and closed the door behind her. She ran hand through her hair. Rey have so much effect on her. Just few minutes before, he calmed her down just by his voice and touch. Even just by his presense. That no one can do. Not a single person in Taani's life can do this. Not even her Bhai.

"If you want to maintain distance Taani. Then, whatever you are doing is not right. He can't have such a effect on you! No!" She pleaded while seeing her reflection in mirror.

"The much I am trying to make distance, the double I am running towards him. NO!" She shook her head, helplessly. She closed her eyes briefly and massaged her forehead by her fingers.

"I have to control my feelings, my love, my attraction towards him." She tightly closed her eyes and exhaled a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. "For him Taani..For Him!" Taani murmured. She nodded and re-set her hair and walked out.

Finally, Taani and Rey were at Banglore's airport. In the entire journey, Taani did her best. She ignored him. They had a some small talk. That's it. Keep doing it Taani! Taani chanted in her head.

She was waiting for Rey as he needed to do something. Don't know what. She was looking here and there. Her head was slightly aching. May be, due to journey. Suddenly, coffee's smell hit her nose. She turned her head and found Rey standing with two cups of coffees. He forwarded one to her.

"By seeing your pale face, I am sure you need some coffe. So, here!" He grinned at her. Taani just smiled at him and accepted. She thanked him and they start heading towards exit. Taani took a gulp and her heart clutched painfully. He cares so much for her. But, She need to push him away, how?? She looked at Rey who was walking by her side.

He is too much good for you, Taani! Tanni thought to herself.

Taani gulped another sip of coffee and focused on her walking. As soon as, they came towards taxi stand. Taani heard, Rey's name being called. Taani and Rey looked at each other at the same time and then looked at the direction where Maya was standing waving at them, excitedly. Rey waved back and walked towards her, Taani followed him.

Maya hugged Rey tightly. " I missed you so much, Reeyu!"

Taani scoffed internally, not even 24 hours were completed after she left for Banglore. Taani rolled her eyes.

"Hey Taani!" Maya greeted with her perfect smile. Taani smiled back. "Come on, I will drive you both at hotel."

Rey and Taani both nodded.

Taani was sitting on sofa with Maya in hotel's lobby. Rey was talking and filling the information and all.

"So? Do you have any boyfriend?" Maya wiggled her eye-brows. Taani looked at her tiredly. She didn't want to give an answer to this irritating lady which was sitting besides her. Taani just wanted to collapse on bed and wanted to rest. Taani just looked away. But, Maya was Maya. Maya nudged her shoulder and raised her eye-brows.

"No!" Taani answered finally. Maya narrowed her eyes on Taani. Taani felt weird under her gaze. "What??" Taani asked irritatingly.

"You are lying!" Maya stated. Taani gave her weird look, " No.. I am not!" Suddenly, Rey entered.

"What's up ladies??" He smiled both of them while inspecting the card of Hotel. Maya nudged Taani's shoulder, " She has a boyfriend. But, she is denying it." Rey's head snapped towards Taani. He looked down at her. Taani scowled at Maya and quickly shook her head.

"What you have BoyFriend??" Rey shouted cum whispered. His eyebrows were knotted together. "NO!" Taani hissed. She looked at Maya tiredly, "Maya..." Maya giggled.

"It's my assumption, Reeyu!" Maya told him. He glared at Maya with so much hard expression. Maya actually made a straight face. Taani suppressed her smile.

"Anyway... Let's go to room.!" Maya again came in cheerful mood and stood up, passing Rey.Rey rolled his eyes and chuckled. Rey looked at Taani. She looked like she is about to collapse on ground. Of course, who will not. Airport was freaking 7 hours away from this hotel. Taani stood up. Her lazy eyes met his. He cleared his throat and offered her hand.

Taani wanted to deny it. But, if she deny it, she is going to embarrass herself by loosing her balance. She took Rey's hand and started heading towards their room. She felt good holding his hand. But, she pushed that feeling and concentrated on other things.

Finally, they came in front of a door. "Taani your room!" Taani nodded.

" Go and have some rest...Hmm??" Rey told her softly. She nodded like a good child and entered her room. Room's door was already open. Room was best. But, she didn't pay attention. She walked in bedroom and found Maya was already asleep on it.

"What are you doing here??" Taani shouted. Maya opened her eyes. " Umm..we are sharing a room!" She told in her sleepy tone. Aww.. she looks so much innocent while sleeping! For the first time, Taani was having a sweet thought about Maya.

"Didn't Reeyu tell you??" She said yawning. I am taking my statement back "REEYU". She murmured in her head.

Maya closed her eyes and pulled a blanket.

WOW, Maya and Me in same room. Great.

"Come on Taani... Please!" Maya gave her puppy look.

Taani looked up from her laptop and shook her head and made busy herself. "Okay then, Me and Reeyu will only go. " Maya grinned at Taani. Taani's head snapped in Maya's direction.

"Wait, I am also coming!"

Taani spun on her heel and started leaving. But, Rey caught her arm and made her to look at him.

" You want to know right...???" He shook her, his grip tightened on her arm. But, Taani didn't flinch. She didn't show a sign of fear. Because, she was not scared. The anger level of Rey and Her's was almost same.

"Yes, I want to know..." She hissed at him.

Rey pressed his lips in a thin line and glared at her. " Rey, I am waiting.. Say it or I am leaving!"

He tightened his grip on her arm, " Don't you dare to leave." His voice was calm. But, the calmness made her shiver. The warning didn't go unnoticed by her. " You are not going...That's final." He said. That was it. Taani's anger reached at top.

"Look Rey.. I don't know what's your problem.. It's not your business... where am I? With whom? Is that clear?? Why the hell you do care?? If you...-" But, her babble was cut of by him. He pulled her closer and his face was inches away from her.

"Because, I love you damn it!" He shouted on her face. She just looked at him with wide eyes.
