On a more serious note: Vayu possesses every living creature in this World... he is also called Mukhya Prana as he helps the soul in leaving the body that it was bound to. Abhimani-Devatas are the first to leave the body and Mukhya Prana is the last to leave the body. Source: Garuda Puran.

In fact, he has been even accorded the highest position (even greater than Rudra and just below Brahma) in some Upanishads.
