Kasam Se is an epic tale of three sisters that begins in the salubrious locales of Mt. Abu. Three sisters, Bani, Rano and Pia, after the death of their father face financial bankruptcy, emotional vacancy and a future of abysmal uncertainties. They are forced to leave the town and go and live with Jai Walia, their mother's old friend and confidant, and a millionaire with an industrial empire of proverbial extent.
This is what we started Kasam Se as. An epic tale. A story of three sisters. The three sisters that are now, nowhere a part of the story 'together'. For god's sake they don't even have decent individual tracks.
When did these three sisters ever face financial bankruptcy? Wasn't the mighty Jai Walia always there to support them, whether he liked it
or no?
Emotional Vacancy is something that I agree with, but over a period of time there is less of Emotional Vacancy but more of mental imbalance. These three were supposed to be these young, middle class girls, ready to fight the trials and tribulations and take on the world! The only sister who is even close to the character the serial started of with is Rano and hopefully, just hopefully she won't change.
Jai Walia, a business man who has an empire so vast that it cannot be measured. Now Jai Walia a man who never goes to the office and sits and mourns about how sad his life is becoming. The arrogance, the anger, the ego and the attitude that made every one of us fall in love with the character is no where to be seen since a very long time. And as the story is proceeding now, we in all probability won't be Seeing that Jai Walia back again.
Abysmal uncertainties. Now these happenings may not be abysmal always in nature but yes, the way they are handled is abysmal.
A man telling his wife, his best friend loves her to the point of obsession. A wife getting her husband married to her widowed sister in law because she thinks that will keep both of them happy. A sister 'raping' her brother in law because she is not happy with her husband and realizes all that she ever wanted in a man is there in her brother-in-law.
When this serial started we said things like 'Thank God it's not like those regressive saas-bahu serials' but I want to ask you'll is this any better? In my opinion it is a notch lower.
They have made a mockery of relationships. A mockery of rituals. A mockery of religion. A mockery of us, the viewers!
I am sorry for my outburst this way, but I am, as a viewer, tired of the butchering of this serial by the so called 'Creatives'.
Would love to know your views on the same.
Take care,
Shruti
