I hope I got the quote right. What if how you see yourself is totally different from what you are? How do you tell what is the real you?

I will give an example, relating to the 'socially crippled' post:

for instance, a person considers himself or herself to be very loving, caring, and giving. The same person is socially inapt. He or she showers all he/she got on random people; is this person really loving or caring? or looking to hold onto some object or person? cause he/she is selfish, and maybe even goes to the point where he/she is suffocating another or being too possessive. How do you classify this person? Selfish or selfless? This is just one example!

Also, are people usually full of contradictions? personality, and thinking wise. Or is it only a trait of confused, lost, and disfigured sense of self?

only dishonest people do that. it is not hard to be who you are at all times. if there is something bothersome about one, then one should work on changing that particular aspect instead of faking to be somebody else.

Is the person really being dishonest? What if he or she has a wrong sense of self... meaning a confused perception about all. Sometimes, it can be hard to tell if a person is caught in the middle of something. 😕

it is very matured of you to ask that question. such a person has the knowledge of the fundamental trouble. i think the person should involve support system to clear the cobwebs and get to know himself / herself. Once you start pretending to be someone else (knowingly / unknowingly), you may get so used to it, that you may risk being lost for ever. Just my honest opinion. Confusion is part of every growing up procedure, but not getting lost in the process must be the goal 😃
