I first saw the promo for this show on TV & it looked interesting enough even though I didn't think the guy & the girl looked good as a couple. [but then the show started & I saw the above picture and was like, boy was I wrong!] - I'm so glad there's another Muslim-oriented show because although I like learning about other religions and cultures, as a Muslim, I'm intrigued to know what other people portray the culture as [if that makes sense?🤔]First impressions: Brilliant!
Zain is such a carefree guy & I'm glad there is a male lead that isn't too intense - yeah he has commitment issues but he's what about 23 (please correct me if I'm wrong?) so marriage isn't on his minds right now. And as for Aaliya, I'm glad that she's exactly like Zain as in she's carefree and all but she's also more down to earth whilst he lives in the sky - she has realistic values {such as what she wants in a guy} & though she is bubbly, she isn't in your face over the top. One thing I noticed is that in the first two episodes, whenever Aaliya was shown, there was a sense of peace especially in the dargah scene - not sure whether that was just me or not. The way the actress portrays Aaliya is incredible considering it's her TV debut.
I love the different families and the characterisation. Zain's family seem a bit more complicated: the brother has two wives which although should seem a vulnerable subject, is quite light hearted even though the second wife [can't remember her name - the one with the son] seems really *excuse the word* bitchy. The mum, whose name I can't remember - wow, she seems like a really intense character. Though I do love the earrings she wears and her dress sense! The dad is my favourite! Thought he would be strict but he's actually quite a cool dad! No wonder Aliyah has a close relationship with him! :P
Aaliya's family seem really close with each other; the dad [reminds me of my own dad lol] & the mum are really cute when they talk about Aaliya's proposal!
A quick thought of the storyline; so Aaliya thinks Zain is Zeeshan but Zain knows that she's Aaliya, his cousin. [BTW I'm glad they let Zain find out who Aaliya is!] -- and from what I've seen of the promo's it makes sense! Aaliya and Zain would talk to each other (through phone by what was shown in the promo) - Aaliya would think it's her fiancee whilst Zain simply idk, well he knows the truth but maybe he is just acting friendly with her as that's the way he is? However, they find out the truth and there's a sort of hatred between them. Somehow they are forced to marry and that's why they say 'no'.
Final point: THE song is just beautiful! *rushes to download it* 😆
