That sort of explains everything, I guess. She has one DOB to give to media, beauty pageants, twitter, and this is probably the one on her passport as well, who knows! Another DOB of hers, which is the real one, is used for purposes of astrology, as you can't obviously get accurate predictions with fake dates. 23 Aug 1981 explains her characteristic yelling of "I'm 29!!!!" in the promo of Khan Sisters, which was perhaps shot in 2010 for a 2011 telecast. It also semi-explains Miss Malini's blog on this issue (where she was quoted as being 29 in 2009 - making her a 1980-born!). From Jumani's interview we can deduce that an alternate DOB was used for her Miss India contest.
And yes, it doesn't matter that she lied.. not just about her age, but about a whole lot of other things; and that is what made her an amusing character to observe this season. I wasn't rooting for any one contestant to win, so am happy for whoever won, gauhar included. Future contestants now have a foolproof formula to follow if they wish to survive until the end and even come out a winner. So brace yourselves for a lot of love stories, PDAs, angry bagavats, flirting with BB voice, etc.
