Nikita, a fellow forum member expressed her displeasure yesterday about this year's disappointing SBS awards and I also thought the same. Looks like its not just us who feel this way. Check this out:

SBS addresses suspicions of manipulating the Popularity Award at the '2013 SBS Entertainment Awards'

SBS addressed suspicions that the Popularity Awards in the 2013 SBS Entertainment Awards were fabricated or manipulated by the broadcasting company.

It appears that since December 17, the audience votes for the popularity award took place on the SBS home page and a total of 21 names including Yoo Jae Suk and the 'Running Man' members were put up as candidates. By the time the poll ended on December 30, Yoo Jae Suk had garnered well over 60% of netizens' votes. However, he did not receive an individual Viewer's Choice Popularity Award, but rather was awarded as a group with the entire cast of 'Running Man', stirring up a lot of talk among viewers and netizens. There was also another popularity award that went to Jo Yeo Jung and Kim Sung Soo, which was actually not based on netizen votes, leading to further confusion.

A rep from SBS told Newsen on December 31, "The Popularity Award fabrication is not true. The Popularity Award that Jo Yeo Jung and Kim Sung Soo received were not the Popularity Awards that the audience voted on. The entries for that were entirely different. It was not the Viewer's Choice Popularity Award."

SBS continued, "It is true that Yoo Jae Suk was in the overwhelming lead in the votes for the Viewer's Choice Popularity Award on the SBS home page. However, apart from Yoo Jae Suk, the other SBS 'Running Man' cast members had a lot of votes, as well. Considering their team work, we decided to award the 'Running Man' members as a whole," explaining why 'Running Man' received the award rather than Yoo Jae Suk by himself.

To be honest all award shows be it KBS, SBS or MBC - its junk ROFL. come on its the broadcaster's award show, they organize it just to make all their actors happy 😆 basically they award their top rated shows 😆 I mean almost everyone is awarded. EVERYONE.

i checked out the KBS award list, correct me if i'm wrong, did they just award 5 couples for the best couple award? 😲 😆

I mean new shows like Prime Minister n I and Empress Ki, how ever good they are, should be awarded in the next year's ceremonies logically since they have just started, but i see Ha Ji Won n YoonA winning awards already. heck they even awarded my darling UEE already in MBC award, she's been around in golden rainbow for say what 7-8 epis? 😆

Don't misunderstand, i love all of them dearly, but awards make not sense lol.

p.s. MBC awards gave Suzy n Seung Gi best couple awards 🤣

All the award shows are manipulated to a certain extent and ALOT of "WTH" and head shaking happens when these awards are announced. They're more like "thank you" gifts to the actors than really "award" - know what I mean?

The shocker for me...

MBC awards - "Let's see how much we can mess with people's minds"

- Suzy winning the excellence award over VETERAN actors...W*Fery #1

- Hundred Year's Inheritance winning best drama ... W*Fery #2
^sums up how ridiculous the night was

SBS awards "Let's just invent our own award categories"

- Best Dressed award: Lee Min Ho😆

KBS awards "Uhmmm"

- Yoona for Prime Minister & I - !?!?!

Anyway, will say, out of all the shows this year, KBS was the more legitimate one...with Joo Won winning for "Good Doctor" (well deserved) and Kim Hye Soo for "Queen of Office". MBC was the worst one out of the bunch (I love Ha Ji Won, but honestly, she's been serving tea for the last 5 episodes of Empress Ki) and for god sake...suzy!?...SUZY!?!?!?!?!

MBC oh my God like seriously??? I love Joo Won but not in 7th Grade Civil Servant. Although i don't know, who he was pitted against. But then seriously??

@ Bold, i was seriously banging my head over the Hundred year's inheritance getting an Award. Drama of the year, apparently even writer of the year 🤔 😳

Shin Se Kyung got an award for when a Man loves😲 😲 😲 How? What? Hain? That show made no sense wat so ever to me. she was the same as she was in fashion king *shudders* award 😳??

I guess MBC has only one decent show hence they showered most of them on Empress Ki. Even Ji chang wook, our Ta Hwan, got one 😆 Although i thought 2 Weeks was ignored. why, low ratings 😆

Lee Min ho's award was toh was fan service 😆. Better him than So ji Sub, what was he even wearing

i was more or less fine with KBS and SBS awards. Multiple award syndrome 😆 Everyone got their share 😆 aka best couple (5😆) and top 10 stars it seems 😆 although was dissapointed that gong hyo jin wasn't a part of the multiple award syndrome.

WOW!!!!! This is crazy!!!!!!!

Well, that just proves how similar the Indian and Korean awards are "coughs*

And, yeah Yoona getting it was like a total disaster..I know she has drastically improved in acting, but no way when her show hasn't even reached half way through and is not even completed, and she gets an award..I was like WTH?!😕

And, yeah I did check out the KBS awards results..these people are crazy for giving the best couple award to 5 couples!!!!! I mean like SERIOUSLY?!!!!!😳

Do these people even know what BEST COUPLE means? It means only 1 couple is deserving to get it!DUH!

Yeah, I am so not going to wait for these awards any more..b/c clearly they are biased and it all goes to the actors who are on their broadcast channel...Really, really sad!😳

Oh yeah, and also I may seem like an LMH hater when I say this even though I am not, but what is it w/ these people who give him every possible award??!!!!😕

I get he is good looking, good actor b/c only City Hunter was where his acting was worthy of winning him an award..

Like, are all the other actors dead?!!!! There are so many like Kim Woo Bin, Heartless City, and so many underrated actors who never get recognized even if they performed better than him..That is just so really sad..It is just ungrateful of these people who decide on these results that some actors are never appreciated, no matter what they do! That, LMH just seems to get it b/c of fan crazy voting!

That is why I hate watching Indian Awards shows as well..and now it seems like Korean ones are no less..*sigh*..

Wish those unnoticeable actors who gave some marvelous performances this year, and I hope you get your deserved success soon!

To be honest, I was shocked that Yoo Jae Suk oppa did not win ANY award
That is simply NOT possible
