Indian Idol, the adaptation of the American Pop Idol format, has become one of the most entertaining shows to hit Indian television.
The first season was followed by an equally popular season 2, providing a platform for budding singers from India to realise their dreams.
Now, Sony Entertainment Television (SET) is all set to make the launch of the third series much bigger.
In its third series Indian Idol will cross all boundaries and bring to the viewers the best singing talent. As it is also popular outside India, Dubai has been chosen for the first international auditions. Lines are open for Non Resident Indians in the UAE until April 4. The auditions will be held on April 6 and 7.
Hunt for One Stage ... One Voice ... One Chance
To make participation and registration easy, Sony has set up an exclusive SMS gateway. Budding aspirants between the age of 16 and 30 can realise their dreams by smsing IDOL to 3536.
In addition to a recording contract with Sony BMG, the Indian Idol winner will be awarded a contract with SET India worth Rs10 million, thus catapulting him/her to stardom, fame and fortune.

The new series will have two new judges. Alisha Chinoy better known as the Kajra Re girl is one of the pioneers of pop music in India. Her album Made in India created history and ushered in new trends in pop music.
The second judge is Udit Narayan whose versatile tone appears to flawlessly suit every Indian hero on screen today.
The third judge, music director Anu Malik, has always managed to keep the contestants at ease, making him one of the most talked about judges of Indian Idol.
The third season also presents a new anchor – actor Hussain Khuwajirwala. Mini Mathur is the continuing factor on the show. She has earned viewers' trust by being a close confidante of the contestants over the last two seasons.
