It was Aamir show all the way the film was his showreel. I honestly did not enjoy the film the action scenes were not as thrilling as I expected.

Katrina was signed just for the songs I really felt she'd have a longer part to play. Playing Aamir's partner in crime or something evil. 🤔

(agreed she had a bit more screentime then Kats, maybe like 10% more, but still the role was as short and insignificant as Katrina's...take Kareena out of 3 Idiots and not much is missing from the movie & proceedings of the plot).
Seems like this crazy forum has "something" seriously against poor Katrina.

3 idiots was a different genre- no one really contributed yet contributed! it was more situational- there were moments shown compared to D3 which was more story driven.

Also kareena had a good role- she wasn't aloof to the going ons. They showed how she had arguments with her dad who was really strict, how she ran from the wedding, how she comes to know about aamir's identity etc compared to Katrina who remained aloof through out the movie- she knew simply nothing whose the thief, whose the cop etc etc!
