'Appu's chasing one dream and I'm chasing another'

Are Apurva and you planning a family soon?
• Well, yes. But I think we'll have to wait for a bit. There are certain things on Appu's mind. Basically, he would like to direct someday. That's been a dream of his for a long time now. I think the time that he tries his hand at that is when I'll be a happy-go-lucky pregnant wife. It would probably take another two years. That's going to be the most perfect scenario. Apurva's going to be fulfiling his ultimate passion. And I'm going to be doing something that I've been dreaming of for eternity now.
Don't you think it's a bit of a risk switching to direction while his acting career is going well?
• Acting gives him a lot of happiness and pleasure and he gives it his 100 per cent. But when he got into the industry he was not one of those taking his pictures around asking for work. Acting just happened to him. Work kept coming by, there were ups and down. Last four years God's been very kind with Jassi... and Kajjal. But he's soon going to be chasing his dream. That will be an acid test for him, but he's willing to give it his best. Appu's clear about wanting to assist somebody he really looks up to before directing a movie himself.
So you clearly are not going to be part of his movie...
• No. I'm just going to be taking dabba for him everyday.
Would you want to continue working once you start a family?
• I have never thought of that. Whenever you think and plan, things don't go that way. Let life take its own course. That's a lot nicer. Just do the right things.
As a celeb couple how do you deal with link-ups?
• That's a part and parcel of being in the industry. We are all friendly with our coactors because we spend almost 15 hours everyday for 26 days in a month. It's only human to seek company when you are shooting for such a long period. I'm extremely friendly with my coactors so much so that they are an extended family to me, like Amit Sareen. Apurva has done two shows till now and he's very close his co-actresses be it Mona (Singh), Rakshanda (Khan),
Maninee De or Surveen (Chawla). We all are close and whenever we meet up, we have a blast together.
