When Jalaal was putting up with all of Jodha's ill-founded anger , it was not because he had no ego/self-respect/self-pride. It was because his emotions were more important and prominent than his own being.

Today, Jodha is putting up with Jalaal's unleashed fury because for her, her relationship and her sentiments for Jalaal are more important than his self-pride.

I am just saying this looking at this recurrent wave in this forum where Jalaal and Jodha are told periodically to choose the easier route of turning away from each-other , instead of fighting for each-other, even if it means fighting with each-other.

Maybe am from the old school of thought , but I believe that any relationship , if one loved one raises a storm and rocks the boat, the other one is supposed to keep the boat afloat instead of jumping into water and swimming ashore.

Pride.Notions of self-respect.Ego. Megalomania.Notions of self-worth. What will we do with them if the one we love is lost? You cannot expect miracles to happen and mend your relationships - you have to fight for them and that includes the rocking the boat of the loved one who is behaving like a lost sheep.

I agree MKM. And to me that also seems to be the reason why TE is going out of his way to break open his Chudail's heart.

Excellent...If we keep on finding fault with each other and bring our ego in between everything then no relationship can survive

what a wonderful piece of writting👏..i do not read that many forum posts unless it makes sense! urs is always the one i love to read..it has maturity and is most unbiased! i completely agree with u..what is the point of living a life where the person u love is gone forever because of ur ego! will that make u happy! in fact life will become unbearable to live..one will bear the burden of not trying and resolving matters and live in that guilt for the rest of her/his life..no wonder divorces r getting so common these days is because of lack of patience and too much false ego!

..Jalal stood and took all her insults ,humiliations and hate and now it is jodha's turn...relationship is about two very different people coming together and when one stumbles the other does not turn away but puts forth their hand for support...

if today jodha walks off the relationship will be destroyed and she knows that ...Jalal will never say it but he needs her and we saw that in the first scene itself...lead me from darkness to light

Jodha can walk away from this relationship anytime but what is worth praising is at least she is making an effort to make this relationship work...this is not her weakness but strength.

In the entire process he is letting all the hurt and humiliation wash off just to get his Beloved to accept his Love.

And it is for just this reason that the Chudail Begum is coming back - becoz she is not understanding what is going on and she is in fear and wants things back to old ground yet her soul is wanting more!!!

This is a very interesting play.

BTW for all those who were upset with MA trying to uksao TE - Pls note she only tried, TE did not fall in her trap but he used her soch to get a rise out of his Chudail Begum and did he get it!!! Oh boy!!!

Now we have MA thinking she is the puppet master and we have BN thinking she is the master Puppeteer. But neither knows that it is TE who is pulling the strings!!!
