First of all my dear Lin, I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations on another new thread and most importantly the 200th Chapter! Bear hug!!!!!! 🤗
I loved the little explanation you have added to your welcome post about the Title and the Genre... Frankly speaking, the title and the genre are what attracted me to reading this tale in the first place! I still remember commenting on your prologue/first chapter stating that I would love to read about Arshi in a genre hitherto untouched and I stand by my words and very proudly say that this is one of the best Arshi stories I have ever read on the forum.. 👏
Oh my god! Ch 198 and Ch 199. Lin I was sure that you planned to give us a heart attack (which I made pretty clear in my comment on Ch 199!) And know it is with renewed excitement and loud dhak-dhak that I begin reading CH 200! 😳
Stunning! How they begin with talking about something totally different and how they end up masking it all took me right back to how it was in the show.
Sigh our Lordy is so complicated... I love it when you explore the flaws in their characters and bring us such wonderful writing. Their fight was true to form and my heart ached for poor Khushi who has been given a lot to deal with and that too with incomplete information. Kudos to Khushi for finally asking all the difficult questions. I was egging her on the whole time and did a little victory dance by the time her interrogation stopped. But alas as expected she didn't get anything useful in return.
Our Lordy Lord is one conflicted man. He obviously wants her but is extremely worried about her safety and hence pushes her away. I also believe that this is primarily the reason why he hasn't made her his "wife" yet.
Coming to the dream, it was scary... Poor girl, all alone in the hall, disturbed a great deal by her unfathomable husband, carrying a secret that could shatter many lives and to top it all off, she get s a dream like this.. I have a feeling that maybe the dream was real and that the blood she saw was of the snake that Arnav killed to protect her. I know I know I have an overactive imagination. 😆
The point wherein she stepped on the blood stains and then there was a trail of her bloody footprints leading upto his room gave me GOOSEBUMPS! And I even shuddered as I thought of any symbolism relating this scene to the "Bleeding Roses" in the title. 😵
Oh dear lord give me strength to read what our dear Khushi is going through. That was scarring not to mention horrific... Being attacked by a beast who is usually your husband, your screams silenced by the blood on his hands, God, I cringed at that... But but but, you gotta hand it to Khushi, she fights him everytime, she truly is a courageous soul. And she is intelligent in this matter as well, stopping her struggles so as to not anger her transformed husband (WE STILL DON"T KNOW WHAT HE IS ). It's pretty obvious that the animal in him calms down by her scent. And there we have it, she has successfully brought him out of his animalistic state... 👏👏
What follows is truly heart touching, he cares for her so damn much. And their conversation is like the icing on the cake. Simple words but such profound meaning... Khushi has finally understood his heart and boy am I glad.
And who the hell in the castle is in talks with the Lady in the Dark Hood?????????? Another mystery! (As if we don't have enough of those)
CH 201 : Awww, he draped the curtains on the bed so that no one who entered could see her state, it is such acts of love that make me go all mushy... Haeee mai mar jawa at that bed scene. Lin you sure are hell bent on increasing our heart rates. ☺️
He worries so much about her, constantly keeping tabs on her state!
I whole heartedly support Khushi telling Arnav everything regarding the General and her, it is precisely such instances which when come up later lead the Lordy to think that she deliberately kept things from him. In the tale what astounds me is that Khushi knows that Arnav is informed about the General situation and why he is pursuing her so why the hell is she still keeping things from her husband????? When she knows that he does not consider her completely guilty as she is still unaware of the true reason behind the General's actions, she should immediately confide in her husband about each and every tiny thing that happened between the General and her. I am quite disappointed with Khushi. 👎🏼
How the hell does he know in just ONE look that she is untouched?????? Is it because of his other powers??? Weird 😕. Also there is the mystery of the child from his nightmares, if I am not wrong I remember reading someplace that the child was the General's companion. Gosh, in a tale of such magnitude, sometimes it becomes quite difficult to keep track of things... The nerve of that filthy creature to compliment Khushi, he wants to get in her good books still eh? Why you %@&!(#*$ 🤬 . I had a question, is the General romantically attracted to her? Or is he pursuing her just because she is the cure??? Also I fail to recollect how he got so certain that she was the cure. Could you please point me to the relevant chapter Lin?
Wooohooo go gal, give him more of that. And yaaayyy we have more heated glances and kisses! Well atleast the General is of some use.
CH 202 : Ah Anjali, you are the Achilles heel of the family. Oh damn, I have a feeling that the General might conveniently forget to mention the presence of guns in Arhiasia to our Lordy. And when he will, he might do so with an ulterior motive to send Arnav away from the castle leaving Khushi alone. Sheesh, I think too much. 🤣
CH 203 : The GIF and the title have me way too excited!
I wanna gouge out the General's eyes, how dare he! 😡
Keeping that aside, Khushi in a red gown and Arnav shirtless, I wonder how they managed to spend the night with their sanity intact! 😛
Woot, I love the verbal jousting that the men indulge in! So awesome! To show someone their rightful place 😎
WHAT DID HE SAY! BATH??? SCRUB!?!?! KHUSHI!!!!!!! ☢️ ☢️ 😲 😳 ☺️
But hahaha he shut the door in the General's face. Go Lordy! 😆
Is it just me or the temperature has gone up quite a few notches here??? I am speechless and again due to the heavy duty chemistry exhibited in the next few paras, I am unable to put my thoughts down as my brain has stopped working! ☢️
This line ""For that General?" the First Lord snorted, "What I do outside where we might be seen is for him, but what I do in the privacy of closed doors..." he whispered, "...is for me."" is simply fabulous. 👏 Sums up so much so wonderfully. And it also informs Khushi that not everything the Lord does to her is for the General's benefit or an act, sometimes he does things because he WANTS to.
He feels a stirring in his chest eh? Sigh, when will this beast be able to truly love his rose. The change has begun for sure, but they have a long long way to go it seems.
Hai Devi Maiyya, this is ultra hot! God I am blushing now with the way things have gone ahead during him scrubbing her! Such explosive situations these two create... Awww, he wants to stock her brans of soap! One minute I am fanning myself to cool down and the next I have a stupid grin on my face. Lin dear, that is amazing writing! ⭐️
Good to hear that Anjali brought that fact up in front of the whole family! There you go General, another shot up your arm. Humph. 😡
Great work with the images at the end dear, same color clothes, same look as the description you gave. Good find.
Well I might need to take a break from reading if I am to continue typing due to the after effects of this "WET" chapter.
CH 204 : Hugs for the image at the beginning! Sigh brings back so many awesome memories! Oh boy even this chapter seems to be the dhak-dhak increasing sorts.
Lovely description of a typical Saturday at the Castle dear, the chores, the camaraderie between the sisters, the relaxed atmosphere at the house all gave me a sort of contentment if you can call it that.
I have a question, Nani being so wise and all, does she also know that the General transforms as well??? Or do only Arnav and Anjali know of this secret of his??? If Nani does not know how come she hasn't sensed anything? I mean from what I have gathered she is quite perceptive and very wise, so I would find it difficult to swallow the fact that she is unaware of his other side. Huh, how does he always say such meaningful things! I am pissed off at the General for existing 😆
Awww, JP being teased! He really is a darling. Khushi teasing Payal was just too much fun! It feels good to see her get back into her Goddess of Mischief mode after quite some time. The entire chase scene was beautifully penned down and I could imagine it so clearly in my mind. Loved it to bits! It was truly a heartwarming scene. Their laughter and merriment has brought so much joy to the Castle and its inhabitants, it is such simple joys of life that make you smile for no reason at all when you look back at your life.
Oooh Lordy looking delicious I must say! He is S M I T T E N! Awww, he can't keep his eyes off her! I love reading such scenes.. They make me all warm and mushy and the romantic in me just gets all dreamy. ❤️
OH MY GOD! THAT WAS UNBELIVABLE! He kissed her in front of all those people! Well I knew he never cared for the opinions of others but still expressing his love so openly and that too so soon was something I did not expect. That kiss was awesome! And even more good were the reactions of all those who witnessed esp Mami! LOL that woman has the best dialogues in such situations! Oh my my, that parting line of the Lordy made my knees all weak ad wobbly! I could swoon at this side of The First Lord! 😳
CH 205 : The day has come and Khushi is so hopeful of going what with The Lordy's changed attitude towards her, but alas it isn't meant to be. Arnav is his stubborn self though I had thought that since the General is back he will change his decision of not going. Hmmm...
It was a teary and sad farewell between the two sisters. Is he being so adamant just because he doesn't want to live a simple life in the village?? I did not peg him to be so vain that for a few luxuries he would do such a thing. Is there something else that holds him back from going? Of course he won't send Khushi alone because he knows the General will not miss any opportunity to talk to her behind his back and that is perfectly understandable but I am still unable to discern his reasons for not going.
Again lovely images at the end!
CH 206 : Ah a confrontation! Boy have I come to love those, esp when the people involved are the Lord and the General! Bring it on
Hmmm, so he is affected a lot by Khushi's sadness but I understand that you are being true to his character and not changing his ideologies all of a sudden. As a very wise man once said, all good things to those who wait. So I wait patiently for the day when our Lordy will relent to our Madame's wishes.
His mutterings about Shadow are funny! I like how both the men are regarding their horses, it's as if they consider them to be friends/confidantes rather than mere animals.
Well well well this is getting very interesting.
I applaud you for these lines :
""Of course, how could I forget," Lord Arnav derided with a smirk, "You belong to the species specialized in twisted turpitude!"
"Are we admirers of alliteration, then?" the General grinned, "You should write poetry, Master Menace."
"I'd rather write satires," Lord Arnav said cuttingly, "However, we've been digressing from our subject. You wanted to thank me, didn't you?""
Wonderful use of words. 👏 👏 👏
Damnit the General is stronger than our Lord???? And not to mention as he rightly said, at this moment both Anjali and Khushi are really helping his cause. But I feel that the General is over confident. You really shouldn't inform your enemy about their weaknesses during an ongoing battle na? It gives the other side a chance to contemplate and come up with a solution. Really stupid move coming from a General, I would have thought that he knew of various strategies due to his stint in the army but he seems to have completely let go of caution and seems quite certain of the outcome. You should never underestimate your opponent General. After being in so many wars, atleast you should know this much! Sheesh. (Rolls eyes)
Oh I get an answer to a question I had asked, the General is after Khushi simply because she is his cure not due to any romantic inclination whatsoever. That makes this even more sickening. He simply doesn't care if she dies, if he tricks her into submission (not that she will ever go to him, I trust my Khushi that much). His need for a cure I understand, but there are many things to be taken into consideration here and when you think about all that, whatever he is doing comes across as GROSSLY WRONG. 🤢
All in all a BRILLIANT chapter! 👍🏼
CH 207 : Well that was expected. What really makes me mad is that these people keep secrets, that too about life-and-death matters. Eg, Nani not telling Khushi about Arnav's other form, I mean is it that you can't tell someone about the curse? If that's the case then it's fine, but if there is no such restriction then why the hell is a poor innocent soul being kept in the dark about the man she is wedded to???????? Does no one care about her safety? Did they (Nani and Anjali) really just cross their fingers and hope for the best whenever Khushi spent nights with the Lordy? That he somehow miraculously wouldn't harm her???
Next comes Khushi: now the girl knows that something is not quite right with both her husband and the general and that she was used. She knows the General's wrong intentions completely and is also aware of the fact that her husband DOES NOT consider her totally guilty, still she doesn't tell him all that occurred regarding the General? And what does this lead to? More misunderstandings between herself and her husband. What logic does she probably have to not share EVERYTHING with him??????
Coming back to the chapter, as expected, the General is at it again. These two are fighting again. Of course both are stubborn enough to not tell the other the true reasons behind their actions. They say things they don't mean and hurt each other even more. See this is what happens when important things are withheld in a relationship, that too a complicated one like theirs. I really don't know what to say.
CH 208 :
Well well this is intriguing, the after effects of the kiss are changing. I'll just add mystery to the huge pile I already have regarding this tale eh? 😆
Glad to see that she atleast is thinking over what he said with a calm mind. I loved her repartees to the General. He does not deserve her kindness nor her time. THIS IS FREAKING UNBELIEVABLE? She is actually wavering in her decision to not listen to him???? Just because he said that she might know the reason for all this??? How can she believe him??? Hasn't he given her enough reasons to distrust him??? Huge disappointment.
Wait, does she truly mean to listen to him or she just said that to get away from him at that moment? I do hope it's the latter otherwise it will just prove that she has learnt NOTHING from her past experiences with this man.
Hmmm, the industry visit was nice! I wonder why you gave Adil that much importance?
And there we go again...
Lin initially this tale fascinated me because you had managed so wonderfully to integrate the happenings in the show with a Gothic format. So I sort of knew certain scenes and there was a sense of nostalgia wherein you wrote something that reminded me of the show. But now, I am even more excited, why? Because now this story is totally yours! I cannot predict which scenes might come up, there is a sense of heightened anticipation whenever I read the Title of an upcoming chapter! And the mystery just deepens! 😃
Now most of my exams are over, so I will be coming to our Arhiasia more often.
Take care dear.
Lotsa love
Breezy 🤗
