Amit Sadh has been in the hospital for the last 72 hours, as the actor is down with typhoid.

He checked into Sujay Hospital in Juhu after collapsing on the sets of the Sony show, Durgesh Nandinii. Initially, Amit thought it was food poisoning, but when the body ache and fever didn't subside, he went in for tests that revealed typhoid.

"I'd been shooting non-stop for 20 hours. In fact, I continued shooting for the show even after the doctor told me I had typhoid," he says.

Shoddy treatment

The actor had to get admitted after he fainted on the set three days ago. "I was shocked when I heard that the production house had planned some dance and chase scenes with me.

They knew very well that I was down with typhoid, despite this I went ahead and shot for it. In fact, I co-operated and came to the sets even after suffering from the illness," he rues.

Amit adds that he has now been advised bed rest for the next seven days. "I have lost a lot of weight and am feeling very weak. I can barely sit up straight. I will resume work as soon as I am in a state to do so," he adds.

Does he feel let down by the production house? "I'm stunned about how they thought it was okay to make someone suffering from typhoid dance. It was disappointing and I was hurt when I was asked to report to work no matter what," says Sadh.

What hurt him even more was when the assistant director and executive producer asked him to take injections and report to work. "One feels sad when one is given such shoddy treatment. However, my co-actors have been kind to keep messaging and checking up on me," he says.

Amit's illness has affected girlfriend Neeru Bajwa's schedule. "She was to leave for Pakistan and then Canada for some work. But now she will be leaving at a later date."
