Today with so many multiplxes, 4000 plus screens for biggie, strong Indian economy with falling Rs ..

The numbers r illusions. Just imagine how many screens Sholay or HAHK had.. but even then do convert the inlation rates and U will know how much collections those films got.

A true ATBB runs for months not just 3-4 weeks. Yes, time has changed.. but what ahsnt changed is r we gonna not remember the so-called ATBBs of today in 5 years times.. Nope.. we only rem.numbers.

What say? Is CE or K3 or D3 can run for sliver -diamond jubillee? Of course not.. but will they in our minds untill the next year end?

K3 will have a special place.. but u can call me biased Hr fan.

The films I mentioned went onto become ATBB on public demands.. as the time went by the demand grew. Whereas now.. just block every ecreens possible and get the money first 2 weeks.

Yes, there were some ATBB b4 Sholay.. but I dont know much abt it.

In fact Budget Vs BO ratio, Jai Santoshi ma (or some other ma) was biggest hit ever. It earned 50 times more than its budget.

Dabangg is as well!! In one area in BOI!! So that will remain sunce 2010 its not been updated!!

But Salman also has mpk, hahk, and kuch kuch hota hai eventhough small per BOI

Not on topic i just spoke to relatives nd parents they saw d3 they liked it but then i ask name a movie you not like and they like ok you got us there lol!!

The movies u mentioned r superhits or BBs.. even DDLJ is BB.

I m talking abt ATBB.. the word is so loosly used these days.. When movies screen life is only 6 weeks at best.

and DDLJ, I genuinely think that is the best Bollywood film I've seen to date. It's not trying to be something it's not, has an excellent story and screenplay, doesn't indulge in hyperbole, and tells an excellent universally appealing story.

Only two Bollywood films made it in to the 1001 films to watch before you die list, one was Deevar and the other DDLJ. It's a timeless film that most people can watch over and over again without getting bored.
