I'm not Kria, My name is Ehsaas Sharma. People often complimented me that I look alike Kria aka Shakti Mohan from Dil Dosti Dance. I too sometimes feel that Kria would exactly like me when she would have been of 17 and a major reason for that was my Craziness for Kriyaansh.
I was a great fan of KriYaansh and always tried to relate my life to them though not a single part matched. Gossips were on high level in my classroom when I took out my health education file to submit it to my teacher.
"Only few people have talent in this college right Guys?" These words entered my ears.
"True we are blessed with talent." Akeer said.
These people were of the famous group of our school known for their dance. They had only one thing fixed in their pea sized brain, they are the best. I never got a chance to showcase my talent. I too was dancer then why not a fair chance for me?
"Hey Ehsaas switch on the fan." Kimi ordered, it was habit of taking commoners as her slaves. I heard it but still pretended as I haven't. "Hey are you deaf? Switch on the fan." Shanaya repeated. I walked to switch board and switched the fan on.
"Ya sure ab tum jaison ke hands n feet to freeze hai arrogance so it's better to help people like you." I said and moved out. These three arrogant humans were really intolerable. Akeer, who took himself as a superstar, His sister Kimi was no less and neither was his best friend Shanaya.
"Hey Ehsaas what a lovely day" My best friend Piyali jumped.
"Subha Subha unn idiots ko dekh liya to lovely day kaise hua?" I mocked. "Kya hua phir unn dancers ne kuch bola?"
"Hmm"
"Unhe chod, u saw D3 last evening? Haye KriYaansh ka dance on leherein coming up this Monday." She jumped. "Haan I saw, they were looking so cute. OMG I can't wait for two days." She was a D3 fan too. We both talked almost whole day about KriYaansh and dance.
We moved to field to attend health education class, when an announcement was made. "Students as you all know Christmas is approaching and our school is having a dance fest so all interested students from senior wing (9th to 12th) can prepare themselves for audition which will take place on Monday."
"OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG AUDITION." We both jumped with excitement. "Ehsaas, golden chance for you, finally your dance will be out on stage."
"I wish this time it's a fair chance for everyone." I said.
I knocked the door of Sir's cabin present at left of the field, "May I cone in sir?"
"Come in Ehsaas" I submitted my file to him. Loud music was being played when I came out of the cabin. Those three were practicing for the audition on the stage in center of the field. My eyes went on their footwork.
Akeer took some groovy moves while looking at him I walked in front. Due to my concentration towards him I fell down. He laughed, "Hey at least look in front when you walk. You don't need to prove you have fallen for me by actually falling on floor." I got up without giving attention to his words and left for my work.
At home I threw all my work aside and sat on laptop downloading KriYaansh videos but couldn't focus much due to tension. I had only two days to prepare a new routine for it the two days went like this. I watched all old KriYaansh scenes and was starving for new dance which would air on Monday.
My alarm rang on Monday morning. I stretched out my arms, freshened up and rehearsed my prepared routine. "Should I back off?" I thought I wasn't prepared completely.
"No, I can't it's my last chance to show everyone that I'm a dancer too." I explained myself.
In school assembly it was announced that from every class 4 students will be selected and top 7 will perform for the fest. I was too nervous. In class I raised my hand for selection everyone one gave a weird look except Piyali.
Desks were shifted back for performance, I was the first performer. I walked in front and took my first step but fell down I tried twice but fell both the time. Everyone was having a heart full laugh on me, "Ehsaas beta, Are you fine?" my teacher asked.
"I'm nervous."
"Beta take few minutes, let everyone perform then you can." I came back to my seat. Everyone was laughing silently especially those three, I held Piyali's hand. "Ehsaas last chance, show them you are true dancer." She said.
I wiped of all the fear and walked again in front to perform with chanting KriYaansh's name. This I made sure my moves make my classmates is not in state to laugh. When it came to voting I was among the four selected ones. Akeer, Shanaya, Kimi and I were selected from our class.
"All selected students can move to the auditorium for the final selection of top 7."
Piyali hugged me, "All the best, KriYaansh ki jai ho."
"Ya right Jai ho."
We four walked to auditorium for final selection, whole senior wing was present there as audience. Every selected student has costume, in hurry for routine I forgot about costume. Waiting for my turn I rubbed my hands.
"Ehsaas Sharma" my name was announced.
I went to stage but tripped while climbing the stairs, Akeer caught me. "Be careful" I came out of his grip. "Thanx but I don't need your help."
I remembered all the steps in my heart and said KriYaansh. Lights went off and a spotlight came on me, I lifted my left leg then took a spin and carried on the performance further. When it came to an end there was silence in hall.
I looked at audience but there wasn't any response, many of them had their mouth open. Someone began with a clapping and everyone joined. They were awestruck as well as shocked. I walked down with confidence.
There was a large crowd around me of students congratulating and appreciating, it felt really amzing infact Kimi and Shanaya also clapped but Akeer didn't say a word. He didn't give any reaction.
The results were announced in an hour, I was in top 7. Celebrating this moment I and went to caf."Ehsaas tujhe pata hai tu mujhe aaj bilkul Kria ki tarah lag rahi thi, kaise sabko shock kar diya." She said. I nodded my head not believing to the words she said. "Arey tujhe pata hai Kimi and Shanaya appreciated you so much. I mean they never say anything good about anyone but they said you rocked the Stage seriously like Kria."
I didn't believe much. "Accha main Kria den mera Reyaansh kahan hai?" We laughed hard at my comment. "Arey mil jayega tujhe bhi, tera Reyaansh."
From next day everything changed, earlier when I used to walk through the corridors no one knew me but now everyone had their eyes on me this proved everyone was aware of my face. One performance changed everything and being famous is a different but a really nice feeling.
"Hey Ehsaas" I looked back it was Kimi and Shanaya. "Hi, we just wanted to say you really dance so well, it would be great working with you for the fest." Was I dreaming or they really said that. I too felt exactly like Kria that moment as Piyali felt yesterday. Kria's dance changed her life and my dance too did the same.
I continued to walk to reach my class with a smile on my face, when someone pulled me inside the fire exit. "Aye hello kya kar rahe ho aap?" he was the most unexpected to be there, Akeer.
"Chup raho" he said.
"Excuse me."
He had held me through my left arm I tried to get out of his hold. "Main tumse.." He tried but didn't want to listen. "Mujhe aapse koi baat nahi karni hai."
"But mujhe to karni hai." He thought I will listen to him. "Back off or else I'll..."
"Shh" He kept his hands on both sides of my face with a b bit angry expression. "Chup, tumhe pata hai tum kitna bolti ho" I shut my eyes tight. He came close towards left of my face with tip of his nose on my temple. "Ehsaas" he said and was quite for some time.
"I liked your dance"
I turned my face towards him, "U liked?"
He breathed near my curls, "Not like actually loved it." His breath hit my skin from my nape to earlobe, I shuddered at it. "I would be eagerly waiting to work with for fest." He whispered in my ear and moved back. We looked at each other for some time.
He smirked and left. I gently caressed my temple where tip of his nose was there few minutes ago then kept my hair behind my ear which had fallen on my face blushing a bit. "Is he my Reyaansh?" it struck my mind. I gave my attention on this though for some time.
But then I shook my head bringing myself to reality. "Control your thoughts Ehsaas, he just gave a compliment." and came out of fire exit.
