So, Jalaal? What was that bullcrap that you have been giving the story listeners since 120 odd episodes? " Hamaara seene mein dil nahin hai.".." Hum kisi se mohabbat nahin kar sakte."...Fine! Kindly explain the following to them:

1. Ideally, you should have pounced on Jodha going by your "carnivorous amorous" public image. You didn't. All the magnificence and aura of a king took a backseat - and all i could see was a man 'drunken in love' - hesitant , emotional, scared and trembling inside out. What happened?

2. There should have been monstrous lust in your eyes , looking at all the adult dreams that you were having about Jodha , triggered by those Jack Daniels. But when she took your hands in hers , you had tears in your eyes, you were like a little kid who wanted to know if he had really stood first in the class. Ye aansu kahaan se beech meinn aa gayye? Kambakht binaa permission ke kahin bhi aa jaate hainn, aur saara secret out kar dette hainn.

3. Its only today we came to know that your hands had trembled when you married Jodha... and they are trembling again today. Just to correct you , sweetie. Its called SKIPPING A HEARTBEAT which then, turns into palpitations because your whole existence is sensing a change that will never leave you the same. ...There are only three things in this world that make us tremble. 1. Fever - jo aapko nahin tha aur na hai. 2. Fear- jiske aapko spelling bhi nahiin aate. 3. HEART - The tremble begins on the body , seeps to the bones and then, makes the soul shiver with 'want'.

None of the above are signs of someone 'heartless' or 'lustful'. They are the signs of a man in love but as unfortunate as it is , the man has no conscious idea that what he feels for the woman in question is beyond carnal passion - its a desire of the soul.

Yes, Jalaal is angry . Who doesn't get angry or feel the hurt or bear the agony of rejection? Ego and heart are equally sensitive - the only difference being that when ego bleeds, you only feel it in the head , but when your heart breaks, the pain is too much to even fathom.It feels like you are a patient of hemophilia and your bleeding will never stop.

Today, Jalaal's self-respect as a man and his heart of a lover have been shredded - and we all have different ways of dealing with pain and rejection. Some of us channelize it into reflection and retrospection, some of us turn it into lessons, some of us carry a cold spot of unforgiving darkness and the more passionate and impulsive ones of us turn all the hurt into anger and revenge. The most emotional ones go for the last option. Its a facet of human nature -somehow some of us seem to believe that causing hurt to others can reduce our pain.

I don't know what Jalaal will do now - maybe unleash a hot baked revenge lasagna by treating Jodha condescendingly , giving her taane and 600 liter aansu...or else he can plan a cold revenge. Emotional anger is like an avalanche - it doesn't think. It just devours ... not knowing that once all the damage is done , its you who is gonna cry the most.

As for Jodha, i do not blame her for anything. If a man, no matter how much i love him , came on to me like that inspite of a 'no', I... you... all of us would react in the same way. Hand-holding , embracing are signs of affection and compassion - unless they exhibit passion. Yes, Jodha loves Jalaal but love is like a giftbox under the Christmas Tree, If you don't unwrap it , you don't know what is inside the box. Without realization, love is like that lovely antique clock lying in your attic - You have no idea why you should be keeping it , but you do!

And ya... why don't you just die Daayan Angaa? Just a suggestion.😆

P.S - The man 'insulted' in his wife's chambers was a husband. Not a 'Shahenshah'. Its not right to weigh everything in honour and prestige and titles. Everything goes away - the person that you are on the inside remains. Yes, am sermonizing.

Vicki, my sweet, that was almost as good reading as the original post. I would only remind you that I am a seasoned diplomat, and I take all this chane ke ped par chadhana with a bagful of salt, but I love it nonetheless!😉

I did not make myself clear, it seems. The platonic part was only for what Jodah expects from Jalal, whence the expression "friend without benefits"!

Lastly, your take on Jalal's state of mind is the best I have seen in the forum; so I have taken the liberty of quoting you on various threads last night.
