Chapter 5

The engagement started off with the exchanging of rings. Everyone was so happy. Ishaan and Payal exchanged rings and then it was time for the couple dance. Ishaan and Payal were on the dance floor and all the other couples were invited on. Ranveer and Piya went and so did Rukhsana and Mach Mach. Antara and Piya's parents also went up.

I was hesitating. I wanted to ask her for a dance. Why was this so hard? I was about to go up to her when I saw another guy. Whatever it was, he walked away. I think she said no to him. What if she says no to me? Why would she say no to me? Which girl can ignore the Raghu charm? I went up to her to ask her for a dance.

Woh yaha aa kyun nahi ra? I thought. I wanted to dance with him so badly. I didn't want to dance with any other guy tonight. I only wanted to be with him. It just felt like the right thing. Another guy came up and asked me, but I said no and he walked away. "Jaldi karo, gana khatam hone wala hain." I said to myself. I saw him starting to walk up to me. "Yes. Finally." But by the time he was close to me, the song was finished. I was so mad.

"Yeh gaana aur lamba nahi ho sakta tha?" I asked myself. "Stupid DJ. Usse lamba gaana chalana chaiye tha na?" said Ranveer as he came to stand next to me. "Waise, tume kis ke saath dance karna hain?" he asked. "Main kyun kisse ke saath dance karna chahuga?" I said. "Ok then." He said and walked away. I would dance with her for sure tonight. I went up to my chachu and told him to talk to the DJ and put on a good song. "Par tume kiss ke saath dance karna hain?" he asked me. "Chachu please." I said. "Bolo na, tabhie to main ek acha gana choose kar paunga." He said. "Fine. Mujhe Antara ke saath dance karna hain. Happy?" I said. "I know the perfect song," he said and walked towards the DJ.

Yes! Raghu wanted to dance with Antara. I would make sure that the DJ played the song that Raghu sang for Antara Di. I had it on my phone. Di gave it to me before she left. It was a beautiful song.

"Tu itni tension kyun le rahi hain? Woh tera boyfriend hain kya?" Piya asked. "Nahi par pata nahi. Mujhe uss ke saath hi dance karna hain. You know, jab woh mere paas aata hain na, toh mujhe acha lagta hain. Everything seems perfect you know." I replied. "Oh look. Woh yahan aa raha hain! I hope ki woh tume poche iss baar." Piya said. "I hope so." I said. "Hi Piya, hi Antara." He said. "Hi," I replied. "Kya tum mere saath dance karogi?" he asked. Finally, I thought. "Par yeh gana..." I said. "Don't worry. Maine gaane ki puri tayaari kar li hain." He said. Yeh toh bada teez nikla, I thought. Gaane ke bhi setting kar li issne? Does that mean he thought I was special? "Ok." I said. He offered me his hand and I took it. My hand fit perfectly into his. I had that overwhelming sensation of being perfectly safe and tension free as long as my hand was in his.

I finally managed to ask her. The feeling of having her hand in mine was the best feeling in the world. I looked towards chachu, who was with the DJ and he gave me a thumbs up. Finally, I was going to dance with her. I put my hand on her small waist and she put her hand on my shoulder. I looked into her eyes and lost my self. The song started...

Our eyes grew wider. This song... it seemed so familiar. It was as if I was in a dream... and his eyes... they were holdI couldn't seem to move them away from his.

This felt so perfect... suddenly; a gust of wind came and moved her hair onto her face. I removed my hand from her waist and softly moved her hair back.

I was standing next to the DJ, watching them dance. Exactly what I wanted, I thought. Bhagwan ji, iss baar in dono ko alag maat karna, I prayed to God.

"Mach Mach, dekho na, Raghu aur Antara. Phir se ek saath hain." I said to Mach Mach. "Haan. Bappa kare ke is baar, in dono ko koi juda na kar paye," he said.

"Ragini, yeh ladka kaun hain, jo Antara ke saath hain?" asked Alok Kaul, Antara's Dad. "Pata nahi, par yeh dono ek saath kitne acche lag rahe hain na?" she replied. "Haan, woh to hain." He said.

The song had come to an end. I started to notice that people were looking at us. "Woh, mujhe kuch kaam hain. Mujhe jaana chayie." I said and I ran away. Koi aur bahana nahi soch sakti thi? I thought to myself. He must think I'm an idiot.

She ran away from me. I was happy thought. I got my dance with her. But I couldn't get over the fact that that seemed like it was meant to be. What was happening to me?
