Niyati blamed for Kulvaddhu’s fate

Sony's Kulvaddhu was suddenly axed and when the channel was asked to give a specific reason for doing so, the head honcho reportedly said, "After watching it for two months we realised that the story wasn't moving the way we wanted it to. The lead protagonist Niyati just doesn't fit in. She doesn't represent today's youngsters."

Poor girl, what is she to do if her script is such. A young, bubbly looking girl is made to dress like a plump ghati village belle, who's only job is to keep the husband happy no matter how much pain it causes her. The script itself is warped — not today's theme.

We hear Sony too is insisting on programmes for the young, aspirational women who want to go out there and achieve something for themselves. Not a typical housewife.

But please, you cant blame the character of Niyati no matter how annoying she got..........maybe she didnt represent ALL of today's youngsters, but we still liked her very much!

Sony is just trying to put their blame on someone else!!😡

You're right. Sony's scripts for the shows are just so similar to one another, that Kulvaddhu was a little different and refreshing to see a story involve more younger characters than the typical shows. I think that the character cannot and should not be blamed for the overall progression of a show. That actor is playing the character how it has been written by the scriptwriters and directed by the director. If there is something wrong with the show, the script should be questioned first and foremost. It's totally unfair of Sony to lay all of the blame on a character.
