It would have been great to see some water play. I mean the ladies could've have played splish-splash with their respective men by spilling the entire water on their (men's) head.

It still happens in many orthodoxy hindu family. During wedding ceremony itself bride's parent are asked to drink water used to wash groom's feet before kanyadaan...nowadays many family have come down to just washing groom's feet by bride,s parents though...
I have been lucky that my husband and his parents are educated enough and modern enough not to follow this kind of ritual. My husband doesn't even want me do fasting for him in teej..though that is one of the biggest festival in our family.. Been lucky...

Let men drink de water where ladies had washed themselves. Dirty ppl and ugly show.
