The New Humaira
"Humaira, have you gotten the decorations ready and the stage set for the couple, please say you have, because I don't want to have to deal with that un-permissive, disciplinary b*, I mean women", Humaira's co-worker/ friend rabbled on, she put a hand on her shoulder to calm her down.
"Relax Aisha, everything is perfectly set up, todays wedding will be one of the most talked about wedding of this town" Humaira picked up the last piece of decoration left and placed it on the table. She has worked too hard on this and was not going to let even a tiny detail mess up her chances to work for Wedding Bells, - we make the best out of you perfect moment, they have been in wedding planning business for nearly 10 years.
She spent the past 2 months preparing for this and finally the moment was here, which was going to decide her future, a future that she wouldn't even have considered, if she hadn't left Bhopal out of misery.
"Today is the final test Ms. Humaira Siddiqui, It seems like you have put quite an effort organizing this" Humaira turned around to see Mrs. Geena Hans the unpermissive women and the owner of Wedding Bells. She was women with her own mind and lack of respect and sympathy for girls who had no confidence. Humaira smiled at her, but as usual she gave a stern look.
"I haven't appointed you yet, so don't smile, be here at the wedding venue sharp at 5:00pm, your final verdict will be given once the wedding is over".
"I promise you Geena, you won't be regret giving me this chance!". Humaira said as Geena walked away.
"Why do you even put up with her, she has not even hired you, I am telling you are far better off not getting the job, she is a unpleasant person to work for, I only deal with her, because of the stupid contract I signed". Aisha whispered checking things off her list.
"I can't, she is first person who looked past my innocent homely girl attitude and gave me this opportunity, anyways you can handle the rest I will meet you in the evening". I handed her the folder, picked up my purse and walked out into the winter of London. I felt myself relax as the cool air breezed on my face, through my hair. Who would have thought, that a shy, protected girl like Humaira Siddiqui would be here in London all alone. Of course it had taken intensive crying and drama to convince Ammi to let me go, but it was worth it.

It was almost 3:00 pm when she reached her home, a cozy little apartment in the building that provided the perfect view of the waterfront and the London Eye. At night it was the most beautiful view, with all the bright colored lights. She quickly dumped my purse and coat on the chair and went in for a quick hot shower.

"I need your help" I whined half an hour later on the phone with Aisha. "what happened?" She asked.
"I have no formal party dresses to wear, I cannot go there in jeans and if Geena sees me in Salwar Suit, I had rather write my own termination letter at least it will have less insolent tone" Humaira wailed.
"relax Humzie, don't worry, I have plenty of Saaris you can choose from, thanks to my mom owning a Fashion store, she always brings her new collection to me first, just come over and get ready over at my place, we will just carpool".
"you are a job-Saver, Aisha see you in a bit". She hung up the phone, quickly grabbed her things and stepped out the apartment.

It was exactly five when Humaira and Aisha reached the wedding venue in their beautiful saaries. Humaira was wearing a coca-cola shade sari with light golden work look like a door, her silky strands of hair were pinned from the back and came down her left shoulder. She was looking stunning, wearing only long earing and couple of gold bracelets.
As expected Geena was already there conversing with guests, using her elegance to obtain more clients for her business. "I see you too have arrived on time, looking acceptable, this is a good start Humaira". Humaira smiled gracefully, this was good receiving even a basic compliment from Geena Hans was a step toward success.
"As decided you two will have to make sure that no guests have complaints and everything is going perfectly, the catering service, DJ and everything else". Saying that she walked away her high heels clanking.
"Seriously that woman needs to just relax, she already has the most popular wedding organizer business, and her wait lists expand to a year" Aisha snaps fixing her saree.
"It's understandable that she a little harsh, she has worked extremely hard to reach this status!" Humaira said looking around, the decorations looked perfect, and guests were enjoying the evening.
A group of excited girls walked past them rambling something about the groom arriving, obviously they were his sister-in-laws.
"Aisha, where are the scissors and the ribbon" Humaira shrieked realizing that they had forgotten to tie ribbon at the groom's entrance as part of the Indian wedding ritual.
"OH shoot, I cannot handle Ms. Stricthead's verbal insults, run". Aisha grabbed Humaira's hands and ran towards the group girls that were blocking the groom from entering asking for a huge amount of compensation.
Humaira felt her saari's pallu getting stick in one of her decorative pieces she tried to pull it out, but it was caught between the pieces.
"I am going to quickly set the ribbon" Aisha walked away, as Humaira kept tugging at the pallu.
"Here let me help you with that!" a deep husky voice said Humaira turned, to find a man bending to get her pallu out, his voice almost sounded familiar to her.
She turned towards the group of loud girls making sure Aisha had gotten the ribbon.
"Here", the husky voice sounded closer, Humaira quickly turned to face him, her expressions changed.
"Ayaan!" She whispered.
