Part 1: He pleads Guilty
" Hereby, the power invested into me by the court, allows me to bring forward the accused. Neev Shergill."
The judge looked him up and down, before asking, "How do you pledge?"
"Guilty."
The courtroom gasped. He didn't care, or rather acted like he didn't. His eyes were emotionless, but it had a small ray to it which showed that it had sparkled with life once upon a time. His face was still the same, boyish, handsome and cute. But it had lost the tease it had once held. His eyelashes were fluttering dangerously, almost as if he is restraining himself from crying. He looked around the court one more time, to see everyone's hateful glares right on him. He looked back at the judge and saw him nodding towards an orderly. He looked at the opponent's side and almost fell over from his wooden secluded area. Their lawyer looked familiar, in fact too familiar. She looked around, and looked up at him.
Their eyes met for the minutest of moments, before she turned away, but not before she had given him a hateful glare.
He closed his eyes again and looked away, and when he opened them, his eyelashes were fluttering dangerously again. He had recognized their lawyer.

"So you are against me, now." He said flatly as he walked into her apartment.
She jumped, "How did you get here?" "Innocent until proven guilty," he shrugged.
She turned back and continued fixing the cold salad for herself. It was when she was putting the mayonnaise on top, that he asked the question, "Why?"
She knew perfectly what he meant, she just didn't want to reply. What could you reply to a man whom you love yet hate? What could you reply to someone who had betrayed you in every possible way, but you had found it possible to forgive him completely? What could you reply to a man who was your husband?
"NEEV! HOW DARE YOU? AND IN FRONT OF MY PARENTS?"
"Prachi… Shhh. The whole neighborhood is able to hear you."
"Really? Well guess what, I don't care."
She was fuming, her anger was believable yes, but according to him she really needed to keep it in check. And right now, by the way she was on a rampage, he could sense it would be a long night.
"Prachi, stop talking."
"Neev, just get out. I don't even want to talk to you right now. I mean what if I said something like that? What if I-"
"You're beautiful." He cut in her rampage, shocking both him and her with his outburst.
"Wh –What?"
He tried to cover it up, "Well, you see, I actually-"
This time he was cut off, "You said I was beautiful." He looked back at her and saw a faint smile gracing her lips, "What if I say that again", he whispered.
"I would say thank you." She replied in the same tone, though neither of them was sure why they were whispering.
"What if I said that I am deeply, madly, pathetically in love with you?"
"I would say I love you too."
"What if I said I'm going to kiss you right now?"
"I would say stop talking and do it."
And that was when he kissed her. It was short and tentative, she didn't want him to think he was eager, and he didn't want her to think that she was too "inexperienced." But it was full of raw passion, and they both could feel the jolts of electricity as they kissed. They broke up soon, panting for breath, but he still had that death grip on her.
"Marry me," he whispered.
She didn't look taken aback by his sudden proposal, she smiled as if she were expecting it. She managed to break free of his grip, and run away. He took her silence as an affirmative.
When she snapped out of her thoughts and looked at him, he was still waiting for an answer. She didn't have one for him, but she tried to form some of her feelings into words.
"I take the right side, Neev. What you did was wrong, and you know it. Just because I'm your wife-"
"Just because?" he cut her off, "You're my wife, Prachi. Prachi Neev Shergill. Remember, it was you who had promised that you would never leave me alone. You were the one who told me that you would always be there for me? And today a bloody 'just because' is enough to ruin our relationship?"
"Our relationship had been ruined long ago, Neev." She retorted back, "Remember, we live separately for the last two years. I have seen you in only family meetings since then, when we pretend to be the perfect family. You're right, I did promise that I would always be there for you. But you're not the guy I married. You've changed since then, so much that all I have left of you are the photo albums I never let go. You've changed a lot."
He was silent, but she noticed his eyelashes fluttering dangerously again.
She went on, "Remember Neev, that night.. the rain… storm, the accident and Daisy? You remember all that, don't you? Of course you do. Remember Daisy?"
He turned away, for some reason, each of her words sliced him deeper than the previous one. He remembered Daisy.
