MA - MA's justifications in the Diwaan-e-Khaas were a masterstroke - her carefully planned mini and jet-speed version almost like a scene from a John Grisham thriller. However, after all that - when Jalal approaches her to summon his three 'Khaas Begums', MA forgets about her own son's catastrophic downfall and gets busy in pitting one wife against another.
We must give it to her - she WAS right when she made that line about herself to Ruqaiyya 'The Shehenshah might have many wives, but only 1 Badiammi!' 😆
Nevertheless Madame, in front of time/fate no one is indispensable!
JODHA
Jodha is worried about the Sultanat and its people more than anyone else in Agra- a point that is nearly leaving HB sleepless! Imagine! Hence, not surprisingly - Jodha gives Jalal a proper dressing down when he agrees that he's been lenient with Adham. For someone as headstrong as her, Jodha is impatient where justice is concerned and unforgiving if not done her way. If Jalal had not promised Jodha on giving a verdict that would have kept her satisfied then, he might have had to listen to a few more lines with heavy words!!!Bless her!!!😆
Since Jalal's sunset-karyakram was disturbed as it is - he ended up placating Jo on a positive note.
How was he to know that Jodha would only leave him more confused by telling him that she hates him no more and trusts him! The poor soul had to take a moon-walk to get rid of the 'pain-in-the-chest' ehsaas and the amplified confusion he was now feeling! 😆
JALAL
Jalal is worried about pronouncing verdicts - especially since more than half the time its his own illustrious family concerned! As Resham said, in BB's case he handed it to Jodha and now he handed it to MA. Even now, he knows not whether to pronounce verdict in favour of his 'doodh bhai' who is his Badi Ammi's son or in favour of his favourite Begum Jodha - so he'll have to undergo very complicated measures and means like selling bangles in order to find the truth! Bless him!😆
RUQAIYYA
Ruqaiyya is against MA, Adham, Jodha and a load of other people. So, while she is fuming against Jodha, she suddenly realizes she should have been seething against MA. When she is seething against MA, Jalal does something to remind her of his growing relationship with Jodha. Then, she shifts to lambasting Jalal. Obviously, a hug and a forehead kiss later she's back to flashing that wide grin and then again 'Oh where was I? Right...begum Jodha...never forget I am Begum-e-Khaas!' and back the cycle starts again...fuming against Jodha etc etc
The only person who loves all of the above is Jalal and he is peesing in the chakki because of this. While Ruqaiyya sulks and gets her way, MA uses either tears/shrewd ploys to get hers and Jodha lambi lambi bhashans! 😆
The only person who stays away from it all is Begum Salima and she's the least affected - come what may!😆 Best tactic to apnaa in that madhouse!
What a convoluted family this is/was - 'Ufff' ye family politics bhi na!
