Katrina, Salman & Sachin most searched Indians of 2013

Salman Khan has edged out Shah Rukh Khan to become the most searched celebrity in India for 2013, according to a report by Microsoft's online search engine.

But SRK need not lose heart, as the song from Chennai Express, Lungi Dance, is the most searched track of the year, followed by Akshay Kumar's Party All Night and Jab Tak Hai Jaan's Challa.

Among the female celebrities, Deepika Padukone may be ruling the box office, but she still trails behind Katrina Kaif when it comes to internet searches.

Priyanka Chopra occupies the third spot for 2013.

As expected Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is the most searched sports person of the year, followed by Virat Kohli. A surprise number 3 is athlete Milkha Singh, due to the renewed interest in his life following the release of Farhan Akhtar's biopic on his life.

Bangalore (netizens still seem to type Banaglore and not Bengaluru) is the most searched Indian city of the year. While Mumbai and Goa came in on the second and third spot.

The year ender lists released by search engines are slowly becoming important indicators of the popular trends that define what's hot and what's not each year.
