Thank you friend for this remembrance post !
Five years after the Mumbai terror attacks that lasted three days, leaving 166 dead, India still isn't equipped to prevent another 26/11-type attack !?!
I was very much in Bombay at that time and watched the three chiefs wearing the ill equipped jackets live! Unfortunately after few minutes there was a flash...---informing the death of the three chiefs !
The 2008 Mumbai attacks were twelve coordinated shooting and bombing attacks across Mumbai, India's largest city.
Hundreds of times I walked through the VT station concourse...because I had to catch the south bound trains from here only ! After the attack when I crossed that path of blood bath...removed my shoes and bowed my head ...to pay my respect to my fellow citizens !---the least I can do !Those three days were very traumatic times to any Mumbaikar!
I can never forget the tears of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan's parents ...his mother's touching her son's body longingly and whispering something with a feeble voice as if ...her sleeping son will be disturbed and wake up if she makes any noise !!!
I can never forget Ratan Tata , touching the wall of Taj Mahal Hotel...as if he is touching the body of an abused offspring's body ...with great sorrow and an unexplained delicate feeling !!
In front of our own eyes we had seen the massacre...an indiscriminate and brutal slaughter of many people in CST with shock, dismay and disbelief!
Violence is an extreme form of any aggression, such as assault, rape or murder or a terrorist attack !...mindless, ghastly and beastly, often perpetuated by mislead uneducated poorer section of the society to fit into the evil designs of sick & perverted people!
Violence has many causes, including frustration, exposure to violent media, suffering violence at home or neighbourhood which creates a tendency to see other people's actions as hostile even when they're not!
Manu dear...you made me recollect my old painful memories which I can never forget !
I was awake all through those three days ...anxious and agitated ...disturbed and disillusioned...perturbed and petrified!--a traumatic experience for me !!"Care: not carnageLove: not loathing
Peace: not pieces
