Ranbir Kapoor/Vidya Balan

I don't know if anybody has realized this, but Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan's careers parallel each other in so many ways, it's amazing. Both of them were initially considered good-looking and fairly talented when they first debuted. However, both audiences and critics only saw their true potential after 2009. 2009 was a breakthrough year for both Ranbir and Vidya. Ranbir was appreciated for Wake Up Sid, APKGK, and Rocket Singh, while Vidya's performance in Paa was critically acclaimed. They followed it up with their portrayal of gray characters in Raajneeti and Ishqiya, both of which were again well-received. However, 2011 was a fantastic year for both Ranbir and Vidya. Ranbir played Jordan in Rockstar, and Vidya played Silk in The Dirty Picture. Both were films about the downfall of a star within the entertainment industry. Both, Ranbir and Vidya were unanimously praised by critics and audiences for their stupendous performances and both won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor and Filmfare Award for Best Actress. In 2012, they again gave two of the best performances of the year in Kahaani and Barfi and once again won all of the major awards, but the similarity here is their unconventional choice of directors. Both of them decided to work with two directors who had unsuccessful track records, and through Barfi and Kahaani, they resurrected their directors' careers. Anyways, both Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan are two of the finest actors in the country and I just thought it would be interesting to analyse how similar their careers have been.

I've always though that both of them would make a very interesting pair! Somebody should really really make a movie with them!!! 😃
