Earlier this year, Mallika Sherawat said during an interview in Cannes that she found India to be "regressive and depressing". Many Bollywood celebs expressed their opinion on her Cannes statements, some in support and some rubbishing her point of view.

One journalist at a recent press conference took issue with Mallika's earlier statements, saying that they portrayed India in a bad light internationally. Watch the video below to see her reply. Source: PV

I absolutely agree with what she said. I'm glad she didn't lie about how women are treated in India and I love the way she responded back to that reporter.

I totally agree with her.

and I loved how she gave it right back to that female journalist who tried to show malika in bad light.

A lot of Indian celebs were against her statement..how can she say such thing about her own country. She's making India look bad. But Malika is right..why would she lie about what's going on in India. She totally shut the reporter up. lol

She's totally right..why paint a perfect picture of India when it's not perfect.
