It was 1992 Amitabh bachchan was 50..and he did Khuda Gawah opposite sridevi and it did decent business.not any big blockbuster..Average in Box office. . Just previously in 1991 he did agneepath and won national award.
So many feats even at 50.Still media and the industry started saying It shud be over for Amitabh bachchan as the lead heroic role. He started shooting as a father's role to ajay devgan in major saab shortlyin 1996/1997 after his AB corp was set up.
and despite rishi and the entry of new khan actors AB was still No.1 But still he took a fathers role next just after playing a hero in Khuda gawah at 50.
Can salman , aamir Srk do that right now??they are close to complete 50.
Like the khans.kumas Devgns are still delivering...AB was also delivering decent business even at early 90's

beautiful time with lots of family dramas. I find it funny when people criticise 90's cause it was a decade of mixed bag .From patriotism films of sunny deol to Khiladi actions to abbas-mustan thrillers to Yashraj, Johar, Rajshri family emotional films to david dhawan comedy to intense stuff with what aamir did in 1947 earth, sarfarosh and other movies like Rockford
People enjoyed SRK, Salman, Aamir, Saif, Akshay, Sunil. Sunny, Ajay devgn,Akshaye, Bobby deol .Fine
Enter 2000's
a newbatch starts with Hrithik, Abhishek, Vivek Oberoi, Jimmy shergill, Tusshar, Arjun Rampal taking few entries from late nineties like aftab, Fardeen. Adding to this batch also has John abraham, Shahid kapoor.
among the batch above Hrithik has earned the maximum popularity, fan support and BOx office sucess. Over 13 yrs he has been consistently giving good performance to this latest Krishh.
Shudnt the media and industry change the shift or focus of calling him as the baadshah or shahenshah of Industry.
Media had crowned SRK , AAmir salman , akshay ect etc as the box office kings in their initial years. SRK has led the title of King Khan since his DDLJ, KKHH days.
If we say aamir, salman SRK hav truck load of hits..Thats why they are given such titles and respect by the media and film fraternity. Then in late 90's when all hailed all the three Khans(Kuck kuch hota hai, Hum dil de chuke sanam, sarfarosh) ,Devgan,(zakham) kumars( sangharsh) etc etc even at that time AB wa senior to them, Dilip Kumar , rajesh khanna , Rishi kapoor all had huge truck load of hits..Why did was there a shift from rishi kapoor, bachchans to the saifs, akshays, shahrukh, slaman etc etc?
So its high time the media and industry fraternity look for future talents and pamper than and uplift them then to be stuck to the 90's heroes
The funny thing is - even the 2000's batch is now becoming old
a new batch has arrived the late 2000's featuring Ranbir, Emraan, Imran, Ranveer, Arjun kapoor, to the latest SOTY gang, sushant, ayushman khurana.
Isnt it over attachemmt of media and film fraternity towards the 90's heroes?
why was this over atachment not prevalent for the yesteryear stars wen Amitabh , Mithun chakroborty, Rishi kapoor were growing senior near the upcoming akshay, aamir, Srk etc etc
Is there also a reservation for the 90's male actors. by the media fraternity
if people are bored of seeing raveena, karishma, tabu, urmila..why a different treatment for the male actors of 90's? If 90's heroines hv packed up somehow..forcefully by media. Like madhuri;s film is coming but the media has less buzz ..Reason- she is old, she wont do a lip lock like deepika in ram leela.
new stars hav arrived but the media seems is still stuck on 90's heroes
Whenn the 90's heroes came, they were pampered and highlighted
its high time
media starts appreciating and pampering Hrithik as baadshah
praising john for madras cafe , shoot out at wadala
Appreciate Jiimy shergill extensively for sahib , biwi.
Change is the constant thing in life.
If audience can throng theatres to see a new heroines ,,,they shud also opt of films with new heroes. E.g- ram leela.
Its more pleasure to watch the actresses with costars of almost same generation
chennai express may be a hit,dabaang may be a hit..but the pairing of old male actor with anew heroine has to be said goodbye. I think people wud any day choose yeh jawaani over chennai express.
and srk fans wud always love srk with kajol, juhi, madhuri evn if his cheenai express grosses more numbers
God Knows why the obsession with male actors of 90's .
SRK, aamir, all hv done well and they hv got ample popularity and respect..Now the fraternity shud pave way for other actors to occupy that spot. But ist not happening
Even after dismissal collections of Krishh ..He is not the No. 1 hero.
and the worse is wen the 2000's batch is compared with 90's actors
Hope the biasness changes and a new trends develop
come on if we can support new female actors over the old ones..why not cheer for ayushmaan or ranbir over 90's actors...
