PART 15

As they were about to reach the Jakhotia mansion, Vikrant stole a glance at his wife. She appeared pre-occupied with thoughts. God knows what was going through her head; he shook his head sideways, wondering. She looked lost and did not respond when his son called out to her. What was so important that she did not pay attention to Abhi also? Was she thinking about Raj? He thought. This spiked his temper and he was trying his level best to control it in front of his little boy. He took a deep breath and called out her name. When she did not reply, he said her name again, this time a little louder. She jerked out of her musing to look at him, startled.

Sarita was lost in thoughts. Her husband was very upset with something and it was evident in the way he was behaving towards her. She wondered if things were alright at office. The thought left her mind as soon as it entered. She knew that he wouldn't attend the wedding if there was some problem at office. So it had to be something else, she deliberated. She could not take to see him upset and hence resolved to talk things out as soon as they got back home.

She was brought out of her thoughts when she heard Mr.Suryavanshi call out to her. She looked up to see that he was once again displeased with her about something.

"What or rather who was occupying your thoughts so much that you failed to note that Abhi has been trying to gain your attention for the past few minutes?" He questioned furiously through clenched teeth.

She was at a loss for words and was just about to answer him when Abhi pointed out, "Look mama, we have reached!"

Sarita and Vikrant looked away from each other, each wondering what was wrong with the other. The car came to a halt and Abhi grabbed Sarita's hand to get down from the Vehicle. They waited for Vikrant to park the vehicle and proceeded to get into the house. Abhi was impatient and he ran ahead of them.

Vikrant placed his palm on her lower back to steer her towards the entrance and was amazed at how silky her skin felt. He sensed a unique awareness which he never felt before and left his hand on her bare skin for some more time.

She felt electricity run through her veins the moment his hand found her back. He felt her shiver a little and wondered if she felt cold. He moved a little closer and glided the hand slowly from her back to her waist to provide her warmth. It happened so naturally and he could not stop it. Her breath hitched a little and she closed her eyes to savor the feeling.

She glanced at him sideways to see if he was affected by their closeness. Vikrant composed himself by the time Sarita looked up, and she was hurt to note that he appeared stoic and completely unaffected; where in she was a jumble of nerves. She wondered if this attraction was only one sided.

"Why are you so late?" Sarita heard Kamla ma ask her and that broke her thought process. She was thankful for the distraction it created.

"Sorry ma" She apologized. Vikrant had to reluctantly remove his hand for Sarita to hug Kamla. He noted that she hissed out in pain when Kamla's hand touched her bruise. Kamla enquired if she was alright and she nodded her head in affirmation. Kamla asked them to hurry inside as the ceremony was about to begin and turned around to leave.

Just as she was about to leave, Vikrant held her arm and tugged her back lightly and asked, "Is it hurting a lot?"

She shook her head sideways and said, "I am fine, Mr.Suryavanshi. Don't worry"

He nodded his head and left to go inside. She was increasingly confused at his behavior. One moment he was happy with her, the next moment he was angry, one moment he cared for her deeply and the next he appeared indifferent. It was getting difficult to understand him, she thought. She had to initiate the conversation, take the first step to put to rest whatever was troubling her husband.

So thinking she went in and found that the festivities were in full swing. This brought a very huge smile to her face and erased the frown that was etched on her forehead a little earlier. She was extremely happy for Divya and Raj and that shone on her face. And unfortunately, Vikrant was not beside her to see it.

PART 16

Jakhotia Mansion:

Vikrant's eyes were constantly searching for his wife, who was nowhere to be seen, all of a sudden. He spotted her a couple of times speaking with her relatives, looking graceful and he couldn't take his eyes off her. It was like he was in some kind of spell. And every time she bent to take someone's blessings, his heart beat faster, to see her slender waist and navel exposed to his view. She did not realize the effect she had on him, he thought.

He was so enthralled by her beauty that he did not respond when a couple of people tried to initiate a conversation with him. He dragged his eyes away from her and once the pleasantries were exchanged, his eyes automatically drifted towards her, as if they had a mind of their own.

She was talking to her Daadi when he noticed that the top hook and dori of her blouse came undone. He walked towards her when he realized that she was clueless about it. He came to a stop behind her, placed his hand on her waist and pulled her back to him. He leaned across her shoulder, his face resting on it, to tell Daadi, "Will you please excuse us, Daadi? Sarita and I have some unfinished business to take care of."

Sarita looked around startled and embarrassed at the same time. What was VikrantJi upto? She wondered.

Daadi nodded and said," Go ahead you two love birds. I know that wedding is an occasion which brings romance in the air. And you both can't seem to get enough of each other, am I right?" She teased.

Sarita blushed to the roots and looked away shyly. Vikrant nodded his head and steered Sarita away, all the while shielding her from other's gaze. He stopped when he found an isolated area and looked around to ensure that they were alone. Sarita's heartbeat hit the roof, when Vikrant slowly slid his hands up, from her waist and to her hands and gradually up her arms to settle on her shoulders. Her question as to what was wrong?' did not leave her lips.

He pushed her hair to the front and exposed her neck to his view. He tilted his head a little to breathe in her scent, forgetting for a moment what he was supposed to do. He brought his forefinger to trace the delicate curve of her neck from her nape to her back.

Sarita closed her eyes, drifting into the world of pleasure created by her husband. She bent her head sideways and granted him more access to her neck. His lips hovered over the crook of her neck, his breath hot on her skin. He was about to plant a kiss to it when they were jolted back to reality when someone hollered in the hall.

They realized where they were and looked away from each other; trying to compose themselves. Sarita looked at her husband questioningly, "What happened? Why did you bring me here?" She asked.

Vikrant answered her through his actions when he brought his hands up to adjust the hook and dori of her blouse; all the while his fingers grazing her smooth back. He wanted to feel the velvetiness of her skin one last time, before he let her go. So he caressed it with his fingers while adjusting her garment. He slowly pulled back his hand and Sarita turned around to say, "Thank you!"

He nodded his head and left her before he lost all self control. And that was the last time he saw her and he was getting impatient now, since he did not see her for a long time. He left the mandap to go searching for her.

Sarita on the other hand was all nerves. What just happened here?' She wondered. She knew that she had to put this off until after the wedding, she thought. She proceeded towards Divya's room still a little unsettled after the encounter with her husband.

Divya's room:

Divya tried her level best to conceal her puffy eyes, using make up. She had cried herself to a fitful sleep the previous night. She blocked her mind from any thought regarding her and Raj; it would only make her weep again and she could not risk that at the moment. So she squared her shoulders and proceeded to get ready.

She was all set and placed her goonghat on her head, when she heard the knock on the door. She turned around to see Sarita enter the room. She breathed a sigh of relief that she covered her face just in time, before Sarita got a glimpse at it. She knew that her friend would not rest till she found out what was wrong between her and Raj; and she did not want to put Sarita in the middle of all this anymore.

She faked a huge smile as Sarita approached her. Sarita was so happy for Raj and Divya that she did not see through the faade that Divya presented.

Sarita immediately complimented her, "You look beautiful, Divya!"

"So do you, Sarita!" Divya answered.

"But I am not the one who is getting married today, you are! And you look gorgeous, my dear!" Sarita replied.

"Thank you, Sarita, really...For everything. For being there for me when I needed you. And if at all the favor needs to be returned, I am always there. Please remember." She said sincerely.

Sarita hugged her lightly and said, "I know that, Divya. You do not know how happy I am for you and RajJi. I pray that you both have wonderful life ahead...you deserve it, after being apart for 10 years."

Divya turned around immediately to hide the tears that sprung to her eyes and smiled sadly thinking to herself, You have no clue how things have changed between Raj and me; and you never will, Sarita. I will not drag you into this mess again.'

She collected herself together and uttered," Thank you. And I hope things have settled between you and Vikrant. You deserve a lovely life too, after being in a loveless marriage for 10 years, Sarita."

Sarita looked at Divya intently and sensed that something was amiss. She knew that Divya was trying to divert the topic. She was about to ask Divya if things were alright, when Bubbly and Munni came to inform them that the Pandit was asking the bride to come to the mandap.

Divya stood up at once, in a hurry to escape Sarita's questioning eyes; and this confirmed her doubt. Raj's sisters were more than happy to escort her out of the room. Sarita was in deep thought and left to go towards the mandap when she saw RajJi through his bedroom window, looking dejected. She did not expect these looks on their face, that too on the most memorable occasion of their life.

She changed direction and entered RajJi's room, to ensure that things were fine; unaware that this would bring a turning point in her married life as well.

I agree with Nandini😡

There's no doubt the story is interesting wether RaVya's part or ViSa's but I'm seriously dreading next chapter. Knowing Vikrant is an impulsive guy I hope he doesn't humiliate Sarita in front of everyone. Their talk should happen at Suryavanshi's house and before Vik jumps to any conclusion he should let Sarita speak.

Pallavi be kind with us😳
